Margo seemed to be thinking for a moment, which Archer supposed could be both a good and bad thing. At least she was using her brain, but even so young he'd found the more others thought about something he suggested the less likely they were to actually do it, especially if it was something silly, or would make them look foolish.

Fortunately, his suggestion to go wake Eros up too was quickly accepted. He couldn't help a flash of a triumphant grin before turning his smile into more of a conspiratorial one. "Yeah," he said. "Winner gets first pick of the food cache." He had to add some sort of stakes, if there was going to be a competition, of course. Why not make it more fun?

First pick of the food cache? Now that sounded like something worth competing over. Margo had seen with her own two eyes one of the adults in the pack place the biggest, plumpest rabbit she'd ever seen in that cache just yesterday, and she would just absolutely adore being the wolf that got to chomp down on that beautiful thing, especially as a prize for waking their brother up with a bunch of screaming bugs. "Deal! And loser has to tell papa he smells bad!" she cackled, sprinting away in hopes of getting a brief head start. When it came to Archer, Margo never really knew what to think. But this interaction wasn't all too bad, and the Valle girl hoped that maybe after today she could play even more games with her half-brother, though hopefully next time it would be after a well-deserved rest.

Archer had been ready to run the moment he put stakes on the competition, though he wasn't hugely invested. He didn't mind letting Margo get first pick if it meant he got to watch her run around and make a fool of herself catching grasshoppers. It would be entertaining, and losing would be an acceptable price to pay.

And then she had to go and add to the pile. Tell Da he smells bad? Oh heck no! Now there was realy motivation. Margo was sprinting away while Archer was processing this change in events, and with an indignant snort he was after her, searching for the first cricket to be his victim. No way he was going to lose this!
