all welcome! set for probably a little after midnight tonight!

She had kissed her mother goodnight and laid awake for some hours. Knowing that things that she wanted to speak on in the morning. So she kept the night for herself.

Silently rising and stepping beyond the den to go climb. Up, up. Higher and higher. Held close the knowledge that here she would be alone, even if she shouldn't be. A place where she could gaze upon the snowy lands below and the dotting of low, heavy clouds. It felt the sadness given form. A smog among the Cove.

She wondered if she even should say anything. Maybe she should just go when her Mama did.

The soft start of tears in her eyes.

Diantha Vuesain

Sleep was growing easier, even with her unease in the den. Her siblings were all returned to her now and they could all pile up like they did when they were little, and they had their agemates sometimes too. Di was growing very fond of @Magg and Adora; she liked having best friends who weren't her sisters. It was nice.

Sleep was growing easier, but some nights the bitter cold kept her up even within the warmth of the den. Nights like tonight, so soon after Sephrina had drowned, whispered in Diantha's ears until she was wound tighter than a snake about to strike. She couldn't stand it; she had to walk.

She expected to be alone, but caught a whiff of Adora's scent heading away and quietly followed it - up to an overlook, where the girl sat alone. There was a glimmer in her eyes and a knot formed in Di's stomach."What's wrong?" she asked softly, sitting beside her friend and offering her warmth.

She sucked in a sharp breath, startled. Quickly blinked her eyes to lose the teary shine to them.

Nothing. She quipped quickly, but offered a thin smile. Tired eyes briefly looked over to Di before her gaze turned outward once more. Why are you up? Kinda late. Adora did her very best to put on a humored voice, softly leaning so that she could bump a shoulder into her.

As grateful as she was for Di being here, Adora did not know if she was ready to voice her worries to her. She was, after all, still a kid of one of the leaders. Which meant word might travel quicker than Adora was ready for.
