Ash Hervok
Snow was in the air, the scent of fresh rain was obvious, and the sudden snow was a shock. The days had been sunny and comfortable, and today the temperature had dropped leaving wolves that already shead their winter coats in termial. Most wolves were probably staying in their dens today but that wasn't the case for Ash. He was staying in the territory he had met Kashikoi in, for he had mentioned a Nina, though he did not know her last name, he had a feeling this could be her. The a small snort the snow on the male's nose flew into the air.

Rain was one thing that pissed him off, but snow was a different story. He could definitely tollerate snow, it was almost calming. The male sat down, letting the snow cover his brown fur. His heavy coat kept him warm in the mist of it all, he wouldn't be cold for awhile now, though he had shead his winter coat his fur was still thick and long.

((Sorry couldn't think of anything else.))

Volkan Aquila

On an excursion away from the Creek, a disgruntled Volkan wove her way through tall trees as snow sprinkled her messy coat. Her eyes were as cold as the world around her, a world that should've been warm. The trees and their leaves were in full bloom. Poor, sad little flowers were left at the mercy of the random white powder. The air had a chill to it that shook the female to the core; Aquila wolves were built for more tolerable climates with milder, shorter winters. Besides, there were other things nagging at her mind, and the chilly air seemed to make everything worse...

Yet the twists and tangles of the Thicket enchanted a part of her she couldn't deny, and the wolf thanked the shelter the maze of moss-covered branches gave her as she picked her way through. Soon a scent came to her, and she stopped briefly, nose telling her it was a male. That fact should've stricken a chord of caution within the female, but in Volkan's world, anyone was worth talking to, even if just for a bit. Why not, she thought to herself, nose tracing the ground as she followed his scent.

Soon he came into view; he looked like she'd pictured, and some of her irritability began to fade. Silently she waited in the cover of some low-twisting branches, wondering if he'd notice her...

As the male sat in silence a scent came to his nose after a few moments. The scent was female, but the smell was familiar...the scent almost smelt like Kashikoi...only a tad bit different. Turning his head behind him in the low hanging branches sat a shadow. Getting up on his paws her turned his large frame making him noticable. Could this be Nina? Possibly? Or maybe just another wolf from, Copper Creek Rock pack? Maybe something of the sort. Tilting his head at the female trying to get a better view of her, the only thing he could determine was that she was smaller than he and that meant easier to take down if she decided to attack him.

Clearing his throat he shook his head and stretched his deep voice echoing in the silent air, the snow making his coat seem almost a white brown color. Speaking loadly he tilted his head up, "Who are you? Could you possibly be Nina Hervok?" He knew the question was a risky one but he couldn't resist, the wolf smelt of Kashikoi and he had said that Nina had recently joined his pack, so why couldn't this be Nina.

Volkan Aquila

The snow fell softly around her as the nearby male turned. He'd of course noticed her, so Volkan simply waited for him to turn around, her expression blank. When he did, she felt his gaze cross hers. Slowly the female echoed his movement, lifting her head slightly, her stance neutral yet naturally confident. Somehow she had begun to feel at home in this jumbled mess of a forest, as though she belonged here. Remaining still except for her small nod, she studied him plainly as he asked his questions.

Interesting, she thought, though the way he'd asked made her a little wary. This male, asking about Nina? Instantly her thoughts went to her own pursuer, and the way he seemed to be asking everyone he met about her, pretending to inquire only out of curiosity or politeness. Cautiously, Volk studied his face, well aware that his intentions could be harmless— or not. She couldn't be sure, but Nina was a pack mate, and Volkan had a duty to protect her. In the moment after the male's question, she had only split seconds to think of her words. "What if I am?" Her icy eyes were narrowed, only the ghost of a smirk on her gray face. His reaction would be his key to more information, or possibly to a fight.

The male twitched his ears as he watched the female closely and she was still in the shadows. The female spoke cautiously but spoke almost as if she were teasing him. What if she was? Speaking loudly and deeply he barked, "Then..you are my sister." He figured the way he said it made it sound lame, but it was the best he could do at the moment. He didn't want anything to happen between him and this female, but if it was is sister, maybe he had possibly finally found her. He kept his stance neutral, waiting patiently for the female's reply.

Figuring something else must be said he spoke simply, "My name is Ash Hervok." He was at risk yet again, something wasn't right but he couldn't figure out what it was. Shaking his head slightly he watched the wolf in the shadows, wondering if she was going to grant him with her appearance.

Volkan Aquila

His words betrayed what Volkan had suspected, even if somewhat coincidentally— this wolf was, or claimed to be, Nina's brother. She studied him, waiting to see what response her question had provoked, but couldn't see any sign of aggression in the male. So... was it safe for her to reveal Nina's whereabouts, or her affiliation with the healing-oriented subordinate? Silently she committed his name to memory: Ash Hervok. So it was likely that he really was her sibling. It was his intentions which remained unclear to the Creek wolf, and so she chose to keep quiet, neither confirming nor denying his question.

Still skeptical, yet resolute in her decision, Volk stepped out of her hiding place, ducking beneath the tree branch that had previously obscured her. Surely as soon as he saw her, he'd know it wasn't Nina he'd been speaking to, or so she suspected. But still she remained calm, feathered tail swishing lightly at her ankles, the midday sun glistening in the drops of snow on her faded coat. Volkan was a far cry from Nina— but would this male be able to tell the difference? Just in case, she watched him like a hawk, readying herself at the slightest sudden movement to counter an attack if he threw one her way. The moment felt tense to her, and yet there she stood, waiting for her cue.

For a few moments he thought the wolf might have actually left, but after a few moments she stepped out of the shadows revealing herself. Though Ash would have never known it was Nina if he hadn't seen the lady's eyes. They were a pale blue, something he knew that Nina didn't have. She had green eyes, or emerald, he couldn't remember the way his father described them, but he knew that his sister's eyes were definitely not pale blue. Disappointment danced its way onto the large male's face as he looked at the stranger.

"No, you are not Nina, apparently. Unless my sister's eye color changed over the years," Ash's deep voice was laced in amusement, he didn't think for a second that the female was his sister. Averting his eyes away from the female he lifted his head eyes hard. "So you do know my sister?" He was serious now, wanting the information from the female.

Volkan Aquila

The negative turn his expression took didn't surprise Volk, yet she stood her ground anyway, his words causing her to chuckle once, dryly. Okay, so at least he recognized that she wasn't Nina. That was a step in the right direction, wasn't it? Still, it wasn't enough to go off of, wasn't enough for her to be able to tell what his intentions truly were regarding her pack mate. Her eye color— that was the only difference he'd noticed between she and Nina? Volkan couldn't imagine a universe in which she and Nina even looked similar, even as pups.

This was the source of her skepticism now as she took another step forward, caution in her light movements, yet a casual demeanor controlling her words. "Y'mean Nina?" It only took a glance at the guy, Ash, to notice that he wasn't messing around. Whether it was only because he was getting sick of Volkan's little game, or something more sinister, she couldn't yet tell. Yet, she didn't know how else to get that out of him, so with a little sigh, she unwillingly decided to give up a sliver of her secrecy.

"Yeah, I do. Little, green-eyed thing, really nice girl. But... didn't you notice I wasn't her? I mean, our eyes are different, but I'm not sure we have the same speaking voice, either, right?" Her tone was conversational as she idly stepped over a fallen branch, nosing randomly at the roots of a tree, though her eyes were still trained on him. There was no way in hell she'd divulge Nina's whereabouts without at least trying to figure out what was going on here... even if it meant putting herself in danger.

The large male was finally reaching his breaking point, this female was pushing his nerves too far. He knew he was only trying to protect her packmate, if they were, in fact, in the same pack. Even though he had no way of knowing he could care less. He wanted answers, not more questions to his own. Sighing and shaking his head slightly his green eyes watched the female, who was obviously not Nina. Yes, the little green-eyed bitch. That was who he was talking about. He wanted to know more about her, but this foolish wolf was asking him questions, the nosey little thing. Though he had to give her credit. She was smarter than other wolf's he had met so far, and he had to respect her for that.
<
Opening his large maw to speak he said in a deep tone of voice, "I don't want your nose in my business. No need to be rude, but it's my business and mine alone." He had not known he vold be so brief and mean to another wolf. He had never had to use this tone of voice with any other wolf yet, at least in Relic Lore that is, but he wanted answers and he wanted them quickly. This wolf was only delaying what he wanted, information.

The male's demeanor changed, and with it, Volkan's expression darkened. This side of him was what she'd been waiting for, and now it'd come out. Stalking to her right, she peered at him with a glimmer of a challenge in her icy eyes, her smirk having taken on a more sinister appearance. He might not be willing to give her the information she sought, but that didn't mean she was about to take any of his bullshit.

"Wow, touchy, aren't we?" She drawled playfully, a distinct mocking tone having taken control of her voice. Inwardly she felt the beginnings of adrenaline bubble inside her, though she suppressed them as she picked her way in a wide circle around him. "I mean, If you don't want me in your business, you can't really expect my help. My pack mates' safety is my business," she warned, the casualness with which she spoke offsetting the seriousness of her words, "So I'd be nice to me if I were you."
