Global RE: The heat is unbearable lately, wolves everywhere need to find a way to cool down. This change in weather causes the sky

Summer had hit them, seemingly from one day to the other, enveloping the Eden’s in a dense, clammy heat. The swamp that his son had chosen to live in was especially sweltering, the air thick with moisture and riddled with mosquitos. With every day’s passing, Vasco grew increasingly frustrated in his powerlessness, stalking along the edges of the territory, and avoiding everyone else as best he could as he plotted fervidly.

What did it matter that he had won against Vayko, when his conquest of Clover still gave him infinitely more influence than her supposed advisor, and his brood now ran rampant about the territory? What hope did the Halex’s have now, when Viorel only glowered and brooded, leaving his cousins to take over? And what could Vasco possibly do to change it all? He didn’t delude himself; he’d been lucky in his fight with the younger Ward, no doubt the boy would not be so easily fooled again; If only I’d finished it then! How different his world could have looked.

As it was, he would have to take even more radical action, if he hoped to ever regain his dominance in the Backwater.

Eros Valle
Eros hadn't gone looking for his grandfather, but when he recognized Vasco's scent he followed the trail to check in with the older wolf. Admittedly he hadn't been paying as much attention to the others' moods as he had when younger, but he couldn't help but think he'd seen Gramps looking kind of... surly a few times. Brooding, maybe? Or maybe just grieving, like the others who had truly loved Sephrina.

"Hey Grampa," he greeted upon spotting the other man, voice relatively welcoming but not exactly chipper. Eros wasn't a ball of sunshine himself, but if Vasco needed someone to talk to, he'd be there for him. He approached from the other wolf's side, and took a moment to survey things from the other's perspective.

"How's it goin'?"
