Paradise Falls V. Subordinate
Flair Smoke-Athesila

She’d expected her cough to be gone by now – the pups all seemed to be doing much better, as did most of her pack mates – but Flair still had a persistent tightness in her chest, making it hard to carry out her daily duties. Her evening patrol had been halted several times by persistent coughing fits, and as she stood now, on the snow-dusted rocks at the top of the Falls, gazing down at the valley, there was a distinct wheeze in her breath.

Cold had truly descended on Relic Lore, snow falling almost daily, but so far, the running water remained unfrozen. Eventually, she suspected, they would have to go to the lake for water; Luckily it’s a short trip… For now though, she was happy to keep within pack borders.

A heavy sigh escaped her, clouding the air like a ghost in front of her, before another coughing fit blew it apart. Rattling her shoulders, it took several moments to pass, leaving her exhausted, throat and lungs stinging from the cold air; It’s gonna be a long winter…

Colette
That tightening in her chest hadn’t eased since her talk with Chan. Some days, she was lucky. She could get up, move, and function almost as normal. But then there were others where she could not, where the hurt returned, or where she was so tired that Cole couldn’t do anything other than lie there and hope it would pass, or that she could sleep it off. One of these times, the ghost knew it’d kill her. But not yet, and until then, she’d stay as busy as possible.

Colette had turned herself towards tracking down Flair, much as she had Chan. She was the next one to tell, logically, and perhaps the last.

She’d managed to track her leader toward the top of the falls when a fit of wretched and probably painful sounding coughing erupted. Worry bid her to move faster, limbs carrying her to where the fiery leader was, overlooking their home.

”Flair..” the ghost called out. ”You alright?” She did not wait for an invitation to move closer as she so often did. It was funny how things had changed.

-thought these two needed one more (maybe last?) thread....
