Your Gift is: You've come across a cache of stored apples, preserved but fully fermented. Cheers!

Cashew rolled around the ground without a worry in the world, enjoying the cool against his heavy winter pelt. The wolf tossed one way then another way before suddenly bouncing up to his paws. He bounded off a few feet and swan-dived into a deeper section of snow. His nose smashed against something hard, triggering a loud yelp to part his jaws. A throbbing pain instantly greeted him for his boyish antics and with a snort he reeled back onto his rump.

A moment later his pain was forgotten by an odd, although alluring, fragrance. He stood up and peered into the hole his body had made. "Jackpot baby." Long fluffy tail began to wag in a helicopter-like fashion as it twirled around on his rump. Cashew wasted no time sliding towards the stash and taking that first heavenly bite. He could be heard moaning as his teeth mashed together and chomped away noisily. The apples tasted over-ripped with a tart flavor, the yearling licking his chops between greedy bites, he didn't mind. No, he liked it because it was food and food was scarce in the winter. Especially now that he didn't have his family here to help him.

Searching for a pack named after a specific kind of tree would be a lot easier if she knew what that tree looked like! But one thing was obvious, she needed to find trees – it would seem Annie and her sister had wandered too far north for such things to grow. So, the young wolf had turned southward, splitting ways with her travel companion to cover more ground.

So far, all she’d found was more snow. There seemed to be no end to the stuff, stretching as far as the eye could see, softening the terrain to the point where rolling hills almost looked flat – leaving dangerous, deep pockets. So far, Annie had managed to avoid them, but it took care and attention, making her progress slow.

A sudden noise broke through the monotony, stirring ember eyes from the snow in front of her feet. The sound was undeniably wolf-made, a cry of pain or surprise, making ginger-tipped ears twist and perk. In the distance she spotted the source: a brown smudge against white snow, definitely another wolf; Finally!

Ducking her head, Annie rushed over to the stranger, a wide smile on her features and tail wagging high behind her. By the time she’d crossed the distance, the sepia wolf had long recovered from whatever had caused his outburst, appearing to be happily munching on something, though there was no smell of blood in the air. “Find yerself a treasure?” She called out in a friendly tone as she drew near, still smiling.

Thoughts ”Speech”

Annie is travelling with Ozark, who may jump into any of her threads.

The boy had been so engrossed he didn't hear her trotting up to him and his nose was full of the scent of fermented fruit. He had no warning of the presence of company. Cashew jumped, nearly leaping out of his skin. He looked up at the wolf quizzically, but as his eyes landed firmly on a friendly face he recovered with a boyish giggle. He met the stranger's gaze with a nod, "And plenty for three." He spoke with a slight slur, having already ingested so much it seemed to be hitting his empty stomach hard. <b>"'m Cashew!"</b> He practically shouted the introduction out of being overly excited to meet someone new. Especially two someone! Though, it was funny how they looked exactly alike...he squinted at the wolf. <b>"Oh! I thought you were two!"</b> He giggled again.

Carelessly the yearling returned to his stash to snatch an apple between his incisors. With no care taken, no gentle touch, he chucked the apple her way with a muffled, "'ere!" He returned her smile with his own bizarre grin and enthusiastic tail wag. <b>"Tart, but beggars can't be choosers...besides, I kinda like it!"</b> He settled back onto his haunches and surprisngly gave her a chance to answer him. He watched her with an air of expectancy on his youthful features. Come on, try it...
