Dead Empress Backwater II. Leader
Eros Valle
Eros' wandering brought him closer to the mountains next, reaching the falls that had once marked a meeting place between his pack and the Cove long after the moon had taken its position high in the sky. It shone down upon the snowy forest with a gentle glow, creating a stark effect to his surroundings. He settled at the water's side, ice now having taken over, upon his haunches and with his tail tucked against a hip.

He used a tawny-topped paw to brush away snow, until the imperfect mirror below was revealed. It reflected smudges of honey and clay, and occasionally the glint of his eyes would appear as orange flickers. A collection of nothing important at all. His ears and eyelids both lowered, thoughts drifting into that dark reverie they often visited as of late.

A whisper inside asked what bad could really happen if he just picked a direction to walk in and never stopped, if he would start to feel anything different along the way or if the cold would just slowly numb him altogether.

Archer

The cold weighed on him in a way it never had before. He hadn't liked winter overmuch as a pup, nor as a young man, and now as a father he positively abhorred it. He hated that his daughter was out there in the snow, was enduring her first winter alone. Archer was certain she was enduring. She couldn't be doing anything else. It was a constant mantra in his head, that she was safe, that she was waiting for him, trying to get back to him. It was the two of them against the world. She would come back to him. No matter where she'd gotten to, they would find each other.

If he said it enough maybe it would come true.

It had been some time since he'd run into anyone he knew, and he supposed he'd known it was a possibility coming here, but it was still a small surprise when he first smelled and then saw his brother laying by the pool. A flash of relief went through him. Of all the faces to see, Eros would always be his favorite - after Ally, of course.

He moved to quietly toward him, letting out a low chuff to announce his presence.

[size=x-small]Archer is very haggard and thin; it is obvious he is not doing well.
