On and on, Like we're living on a broken record

Spring had come, out of nowhere it seemed, slamming into the russet woman’s chest like a crazed stag during a hunt gone wrong – and she felt the pain to match too. While her cough had finally disappeared for good, she was left with an awful tightness in her chest, and a persistent ache that didn’t respond much to any treatment, like something inside her had permanently broken. It left her irritated and constantly fatigued, still unable to participate in hunts or any other physical labor for the pack, let alone resume her position, much to her further frustrations; And Finley’s I’m sure…

She’d become even more withdrawn from the pack, not wanting to take out her bad mood on them. But it meant she was out of the loop, out of tune with the goings on in her own pack; If it even is anymore… All she really knew was her children, whom she made an effort to check in with daily, and show her best side, making sure they knew her foul mood had nothing to do with them. Even so, they were sure to have noticed her continued isolation, much as everyone else.

Flair honestly didn’t care what they were thinking, she didn’t have the energy to care – which paradoxically made her feel even lower, so far from the leader she had once been – but there was one wolf who deserved her attention, who she could not leave in the dark, despite her personal struggles. So she forced herself to seek out @Finley in a quiet moment, saving up all her energy for the conversation they would need to have; Now or never…

Finley Lennox

When Finley had first been thrust into leadership she had been so consumed on trying to find Jethro that she was running herself ragged. Even to this day he still continued to look, but the territory that she covered became smaller as she began to fully accept what her responsibilities had become. She wanted him to come back, she wanted Flair to feel better so she could step up and she could resume search=ing full time. But, she had also become resigned to the fact that it seemed like neither of those things were going to happen anytime soon.

She had wanted to seek Flair out and ask how she was doing, and maybe ask her for her advice but it was no secret that the fiery wolf had withdrawn herself. Finley wanted to reach out, but respected her need for privacy and left her alone. Only once she had dropped off some food outside of the den, she had hesitated wanting to call out, but ultimately decided to turn and allow the Smoke woman to continue healing in peace.

So when Flair came to her, the agouti woman smiled warmly and barked out a welcome. The leader had just been lounging near the borders, watching the world begin to melt around them as the world prepared to re-awaken after a long winter slumber.
