Rhysis Aquila
I'm going to PP us all tracking the animals so we can try to wrap this up in the next few rounds. Hope this is alright with everyone!

Rhysis nodded towards his female and allowed her to lead the way, each member of the pack in tow and Rhysis took the rear. As they left the pack borders in search of their meal, he couldn't help but observe the difference in the forest here. The further away from the lake they got, the denser the forest and the different the sights, smells and sounds. It was like another territory, untouched by other wolves; no wonder the deer were hiding here.

Eventually they were onto a fresh scent, a herd not far and as luck would have it, downwind from their small pack. With any luck, each wolf would know their place and what they were doing. He would allow Ava, their leader hunter, to take charge of his group whilst Naira and Athena would slip off and do their duty further down.

Silence surrounded the group as they got closer and with a final nod from the dark male, they would seperate into their groups and head off to do their duties. Signals were going to be key here and with a final nudge to his females cheek, and a look which clearly read "stay safe"... and one to Athena to ensure she did just that, he glanced to Ava and Chantille, giving them a nod and allowed room for Ava to lead the way and for the group to dispurse when they were ready.

So far, they had been undetected by the herd. It consisted of around 20 creatures and several young; spring was the perfect time to attempt a hunt. All members were grazing within a small clearing where the sun could shine on their backs and the grass was sweetest. All around the clearing the treeline was dense, perfect. Everything was perfect; so why did the dark male have a feeling something was going to go wrong? With a shove, he pushed the unsettling feeling away and looked to Ava for instruction.

Naira Tainn
OH god I’m so terrible sorry guys! Athena feel free to PP Naira in the chase towards the hunters from here :)

It would seem the young knew what they were up to because for once they decided to remain still. Perhaps it was the steady beat of her paws as the tawny lady travelled with her pack or perhaps they were simply exhausted from keeping her up all night. At the though of how sleepless her nights were becoming a yawn worked its way from her mouth, stretching her jaws to the extreme. A sideways glance showed her nobody had taken much notice. If they had she would simply pass it off as stretching her jaws.

She basked for a moment in the look he gave her. Sometimes she wondered, but apparently he did care sometimes. The familiar scent danced across her nostrils and she indicated to Athena that they should loop around to get behind the herd. As the dark floppy eared prey came into sight, she could feel the creeping build up of adrenalin that would push her body forwards. There were so many of them, but the choosing wasn’t really up to them. The herd would be easily separated, all they really needed to do was chase two or three in the direction of the waiting hunters.

Deciding mothers with young would be an easier target than one of the larger bulls (no doubt the young would stick around long enough and be far easier to drag back to the caches) she spotted a mother with twins. As usual, one was more sickly than the other but both were smaller than the rest of the calves around them and the mother seemed to be struggling to care for both. With a raised brow to Athena in question, she would ensure that little package travelled with the others they were driving towards their doom.

Her muscles bunched as she silently crept forwards, ready to launch from the undergrowth at the opportune moment.

Ava Attaya
Ava's pawsteps were gentle, but quick, full of a fury she could not wait to unleash. Her every nerve was activated as her bright eyes scoured the territory for signs of life that would soon be brought to death. The stone of the mountain land turned much more plush as the wolves trailed into the forest; pleasantly she found that she didn't miss it much at all. Thoughts of personal preference were lost instantly when a whiff of mule deer caught on the wind. Her jaws were aching for the kill as their small group rounded on the grazing prey. Rhysis sent Naira and Athena off, and then met her own eyes. Ava responded with a curt nod and a thirsty grin, the shadow of a wolf would slink forward to pick a prize.

There were indeed a set of twins, sticking near and close to their mommy. The three of them already seemed skittish and confused - dim wits did carry on in the genes, did they not? She glanced toward the chasers to see if they'd found the three to be a decent target. The mom was of good size, and the young would be good for storage. Briefly she surveyed the herd again - a good twenty of them meant enough confusion to be the downfall of their choice, but it also meant a good amount of pickings and easier navigation. There was a male - stocky, with good meat - that she spotted whose ankle was slightly torn, but he seemed older. Perhaps he would have enough sense not to run right into the wolf trap, but perhaps not... Ava glanced between Rhysis and Chantille to see if they had spotted him as well, but truly she couldn't tell who to go for just yet. They would need the herd running to really figure out their prime target.

Keeping those two in mind, her bright eyes flickered between the naive gathering of deer and her two packmates rounding them in the shadows... once one party struck, so would the other.

Chantille Idasis

Chantille's paws cried in relief as they met the soft foliage and soils. It was odd, feeling the forest around them instead of the open terrain of the mountains. With a smirk teasing her inky lips, she resisted the grin, controlling her blood lust. Typically kind, chocolate eyes were narrowed, a look of death swirling within them. Her tail was low, ears alert. The creamy woman padded slowly alongside the right flank of the raven coated woman, Ava. She could not wait for the feel of flesh under her claws, the muscle tearing in her powerful jaws. Heart began to drum wildly within her chest as they neared their prey.

Brown gaze flowed among the mule deer, mind working to pick out the perfect prey. Eyes whirred about, looking over young deer- they would not provide enough meat for her family. Lowering her body, she continued to watch, until Ava turned her head to look at she and Rhysis. Looking quickly to the ebon lady, Chant gazed back to the deer, observing what Ava had. An older buck hoofed alongside the herd with a slight limp- he had injured his ankle. She could almost taste the scent of the wound as the animal brought itself along.

If they moved quickly enough (which she of course had no doubt they would do) they would be able to outsmart the elder buck. Of course, though, it would be up to Rhysis. She glimpsed at her leader, awaiting a nod or a shake of his head to the buck she and Ava were now watching.
