The nights were warm now, even though some snow still patched the grounds in the places the sun rarely reached. The river ran loudly when she got close enough to it, but she tried to stick closer to the backwater that named the pack. Her grandma had just had another litter, something that was strange in her mind. She had a new uncle and aunts that were younger than her, that didn't know her Dad or anything that had happened. She wondered what they would be like, if they would be like her uncle Eros.
She hoped so. She loved her uncle. @Eros had never been anything but kind to her, even when her dad said they were still mad at each other. Ally still remembered that first day, when her dad had seemed so nervous but there was a touch of something different to him, something she hadn't seen in him since Andy died. She hadn't had the word then, but now she knew it had been hope.
Ally sighed and looked at the sky, enjoying watching the stars. She missed her dad and wanted nothing more than to stargaze together, back at home where they both belonged.
