She was amazed at how quickly they became something closer to functioning minds. No longer did they sit idly at her side, suckling until they passed out in a milkweed coma. Soon they would need a bigger place than just the dark dwelling place she had carved before they had been earthside.

Yet now she called @Constantin and Caiaphas out to her in the evening dusk before the sun fully faded. A red squirrel, caught but not yet fully felled, laid in a deathly still shock at her paws. They would need to come quick if they wished to catch it before it realized its end as a meal was not yet a promise.
