Sex: FemaleHaving spent the morning with @Indigo might have meant that her explicit obligations had been met for the day, but Atara was far from finished. She made full use of every day, regardless of whether or not her body agreed that she was properly prepared. Anyways, it was mostly just walking. Checking in with key locations and individuals throughout the territory so that she knew for herself all was well. This included Isla and her whelping den, though sometimes she just visually inspected the area before moving on. Atty was particular about not pushing her presence when she felt it might not be entirely welcomed, and the new mother had not given her positive vibes in a very long time. Her second-wind having come and gone, she was now lacking the energy necessary to pretend unless eyes were directly upon her. Long legs noticeably lagged from their usual brisk pace, and her dark eyelids were drooped. She lowered her nose into the grass at her paws and snuffled about leisurely, reading the myriad of scents. Nothing out of place. |
While his brother's eyes had begun to lighten just so that they might become a different hue of blue, Caiaphas found his own had begun to muddy. Soon they would lighten into a brilliant peach, but the transition hardly seemed pretty by any means. Not to mention how his fur seemed content to become fire and mud.
He had become abundantly aware that he was not like his mother or brother. Not that his brother ever seemed to make him feel less than for it.
Which was how he had come to currently clutch a broken femur in his mouth from a recent discovery with his brother. He had worn grooves into it eagerly but it seemed content to hold up against the worst he had to offer. Even when he squeezed his jaws down tighter on it when a howl wormed through the air.
Off with his bone he went, until he spotted her. She almost looked like she could be a sibling, but he knew better.
Wassit you? He asked around a mouthful of his treasured possession.
The call careened through the air around her abruptly, snapping her tired eyes open wide and causing her head to jump. It was back?! Surely she was hearing things, had it been a pack mate or even a guest? Rather than the same voice as last night... Why couldn't she make sense of what it was saying, though? 'Wassit you?' Atara flinched visibly with another shock, no matter how little and innocent the voice. Her head snapped toward the boy, and she had to wonder if this meant his mom was nearby too. She also couldn't help but question if the stories she told them were anything like the depressing one she had 'gifted' Atty with, or if Isla had just been a mean-spirited teenager at the time. Like what had supposedly been Ryder's problem, though he hadn't quite seemed to of grown out of it either... "No," she responded, lids beginning to droop once more even as she mustered up a playful intent in the beryl gaze behind them, "was it you?" It had her thoroughly bothered, this mystery-crier. There was no use nor good in expecting a child to take any of it seriously, though. He was safe so long as he had someone much bigger looking out for him anyways, right? |
