The brown, British, tiny little hummingbird for a wolf woke up full of energy. She knew Shade needed sleep from their adventure around Relic Lore so she didn't wake him. She shrugged to herself, guessing she didn't need as much to power her little shape. Raising her head with a deep breath, she surveyed the wolves around her. All sleeping, so far. Swiftly and silently, she whisked out of the sleeping area and slowly to the entrance, trying to resist running out and making lots of noises. As soon as her nose touched the humid air, she let out a deep breath she had been holding in. "Finally!" She breathed in and sucked up the fresh air. Nice, but thick. A thin fog had fallen over the canopy of the willows. But you could see about twenty feet ahead of you. Okay conditions to hunt under.Taking two pawsteps forward and sitting down to survey the vast territory, she looked around and twitched her ear in automatic response to a bird chirping. Yes, the birds were waking up. Good.

A quiet rustle of paw steps roused the sleeping wolf. First, her ears flicked in response, and then slowly her amber eyes opened, blinking away the bleariness of sleep. She had awakened in time to catch sight of a slight shape exiting, silhouetted dark against the morning light streaming through the opening of the den. She could not really tell who it was, though she was steadily growing familiar with her new packmates' appearances. Skana did not like wasting away the day on sleeping, and there was no time like the present for getting to know her comrades.

The old woman pulled herself to her feet and shook away the dust that had clung to her fur. As she emerged from the cave pausing beside the wolf she had seen exit. She was not the type to hurry, first taking in the hazy weather, and then slowly turning her scarred muzzle towards the little woman seated to her left. "Good morning," she greeted and lowered her haunches to sit. "I don't think I've introduced myself yet, I'm Skana Coho."

A hunting thread. How could I not resist?

Narimé was content to sleep away the morning. She continued to sleep
after Skana had gone and left heading after Rosealia. Whining as she half awoke
spying the dark tail of Skana disappearing through the den entrance. Narimé closed
her purplish eyes again trying to continue sleeping.

I guess Skana is going out to pee or something... But I thought I heard someone
getting up before she left. Maybe she was following someone? GHAAA.. What am I
thinking so much for? Sleeep....sleeeep....sleeeeeeeeeep..sleeee-dammit's not working.

Narimés eyes opened slowly and the girl stretched herself while on the ground. After viewing
the den she realized that both Skana and Rosealia were gone. Her curiosity was
pipped. Getting up the silvery she wolf stretched herself, long legs splayed
out in front of her, and tail curling
in delight of the long stretch. Shaking her head she woke herself up
further then headed out of the den. She was greeting by the sights
of her two packmates. The darker older female named Skana and the lighter Rosealia.

<b style="color:#FFFFFF">"Good morning." She raised her head enjoying the smell of their
territory after her greeting. She wondered what the two wolves were
up to. Maybe a patrol around the borders? Or a hunt? The yearling
couldn't wait to find out. She smiled just thinking about the hunt.

Enjoying the fresh air, the brown female had failed to see the old dark woman pad out of the den behind her. It was all silent, and she had been calm until the old woman had spoken to her, "Good morning." Her voice had made the little woman jump in surprise. "Wha? .. Oh, good morning then. Nice to meet you Skana. I'm Rosealia. Her British accent was obvious and now in a whisper as if she was scared she would wake up her packmates in their sleep. She dipped her head to the older, but same-ranked wolf. Her eyes glittered with respect for her packmate. By then, yet another familiar voice perked her ears again. Narime, of course. The curious yearling probably couldn't resist following them outside. She sat down and looked at the gray shape over her brown shoulder. Her tail thumped the ground.

"Ah, I didn't see you there, Narime. Good morning. Isn't it beautiful out here?" She greeted, dipping her head in a polite curtsy. She felt what seemed to be a smirk form across her face. She took a deep breath in, but let a slow, tiny breath out in a cute sigh.

Skana hadn't intended to startle the woman, and hadn't walked any quieter than she normally did. She figured that the little brown wolf must have just been wrapped up in her own thoughts. "Pleasure to meet you," Skana murmered in response to Rosealia's whisper. Another voice from behind the two greeted the morning, and the old woman turned to see the smiling face of a silvery female. Skana nodded in agreement to Rosealia's assessment. She took a deep breath, the misty cool morning air carrying with it the first scents of fall. Beautiful indeed. It would seem a shame to waste the day on lazing about, and the thought of a hunt entered Skana's mind. The other female was petite, though Rosealia seemed old enough to know her way about a hunt. And even though the grey girl was just a yearling, Elettra had mentioned that she was an excellent huntress. It seemed like a good enough idea.

"Might you ladies like a hunt? It is a nice day, after all." The chocolate wolf's large form, arthritic limbs, and failing eye were not conductive to catching the smaller things a solitary wolf would live on. Her greater size and strength were much more suited to taking down larger prey, which weren't as quick and elusive as little creatures like rabbits and squirrels. Having fed well on the caches stored by the pack and her former strength more or less returned, she thought it was time she returned the favor. The three of them could hopefully take down something suitable enough for a filling breakfast, with a little left to stash away.

Narimé's tail started wagging after Skana mentioned hunting. That was the
only thing the young she wolf was good for. At least it seemed like that to her.
Turning her head back around to view her packmates the young wolf nodded in
agreement wth Skana.

"I think we could catch something nice for the pack." She paused to look over
Skana's and Rosealia's bodies. Skana was stronger than Narimé. So she would be
the wolf most likely to bring down something like a deer. Rosealia was smaller and
shorter even than the yearling which meant she'd have speed. She would be the on to
quickly execute attacks on the deer and be able to get away without getting a hoof in the side.
Then there was Narimé who was lean and tall. She knew her job was to run the deer down with
her stamina and help Skana when the deer was ready to fall.

The girl was getting good at judging the hunting prowress of others. Being able
to do that well allowed her to strategize hunts easier since she knew what each wolf would
be able to work best in certain conditions while on the hunt.

Even if Narimé knew what to do she herself didn't know if Skana or Rose
would be leading the hunt. Though the young wolf guessed it would be Skana since
she was the oldest. Either way Narimé hoped she could shine on this hunt
in front of her pack mates.

"That's a wonderful idea." The tiny ecru furred woman smirked. Hunting was her thing, since she primarily hunt for three individual wolves when her mother was alive and kicking, and her father had to keep the his insane mate from running away. It was also when she had to rely on small prey and building up her speed every day. It wasn't easy, but now Rose looked at it as an advantage. Hunting for or by yourself is useful in a time of need or as a loner.

Heart racing with excitement, she glanced at Narime as she began to get up and shake her pelt. The taller silver yearling was bursting with mixed scents. They were good, though. She watched the wolf's blue eyes dart around with thoughts Rose couldn't possibly read. Long tail waving behind her like a dragging flag, she trotted forward and stuck her nose in the air, reading it carefully. "Where do you suggest we go?"

She inquired the two wolves behind her, wondering if Skana would step up and take lead of this hunt. Rose Slayer had never taken much control of these kind of things, but it couldn't be that hard. She felt her tail slowly lift in surprise. "Ah, the elk are already running around this time of morning, guys." She murmured, more to encourage herself.

She hauled herself to her feet with more liveliness than she usually moved. Their excitement was electric, nearly tangible, like a current running across her skin. And not only could she feel it's effect on her flesh, but it was contagious, kindling a fire in her heart that had long gone unlit for some time. She was glad they found it a good idea, and could not wait to stretch her muscles and see if she still was as good as she used to be.

She lifted her snout to the air, breathing deeply in any scents that would give them a lead to some prey. Though gentle, a western wind could be felt. It wasn't very strong, as it lacked the force to carry away the morning's lingering fog. Faint whispers of other animals were carried on the breeze, but certainly none would be dumb enough to hang around near a wolf's den. Wherever the huntresses might go, remaining downwind would probably be most wise. Skana stepped forward, stopping beside Rosealia, her amber eyes shifting to the side to meet the woman's bright yellow ones. "We will head to the west, the forest opens up more as it approaches the meadow-lands. I think we will have the best chances of finding herds there, and stay down-wind that way as well."

She set off before the two, intent on leading the party. She moved at a ground-eating gait, quick but conservative. There was no point in spending energy before the chase had even begun. Her auburn tail streamed out behind her and her head was carried low, with leathery nose twitching as she probed ahead for scents of ungulates. Elk did sound good.

Nodding her head Narimé agreed fully with Skana. She had already hunted bear
the meadows to the west. There was almost always a good chance for a meal in that
area. After Skana started off Narimé padded along after her. The girls long legs easily
letting the young wolf keep up with the pace. She kept silent and picked her paw
placement in order to keep as quiet as possible. Silver head lowered, her nose working
almost on its own, Narimé trailed Skana wondering quietly what their quarry would be.
Deer? So far that was the only thing Narimé had hunted. Elk would be something
new to the young wolf, and its scent would also be new information for her to absorb
and learn from during this hunt.

Maybe we can get the caches a little more filled with stuff other than squirrels,
fish, and groundhogs..
She nickered in her head while imagining a big pile of meat
taller than herself in the middle of the cache food area of the den. Narimés jaws
began to drool. Quickly she licked the extra liquid up embarassed at herself.

She looked over at Skana with her yellow eyes, dipping her head. "Good choice." She complimented, admitting to herself that her plan wouldn't have been go to the west, it would've been to move to the river and stream areas around Sacred Grove, where prey was bound to appear for water during the heat and humidity of the foggy morning. Still, Skana had the probably most experience leading hunts anyways.

Rose started off full of energy, eyes blazing with excitement. This was going to be fun and beneficial for the pack's cache. Her tail waved behind her and she walked with a bounce in her step beside Narime, raising her nose to the air as they padded towards the west. She felt herself sigh in relief as they got closer and closer to the meadows. She was simply starving!
