Rais Rose
Rais' narrow shoulders rolled in a shrug. He couldn't argue with it, though it was kinda nice to have someone worried about him after spending so long on his own. His fur was a little thicker for the coming winter, but tattered and dull it probably wouldn't do him much good. With his head hanging shamefully he followed her into the center of the glade, cringing as he watch her limp. At least, he thought, at least she has somewhere to go home to. Rais knew little sprain like that, with no pack to back him up, could very well be the end of him. He'd just starve to death, forgotten, food for crows.

The dark thoughts completely vanished when Narime' mentioned a shelter for two. Neither of them would be freezing to death and... he wasn't sure what was up with the buzzing in his paws but he didn't mind the feeling. "Yes mi'lady!" He said, straightening up. With a brisk bob of his head, almost like a salute, he set off on his "mission" to set up some shelter.

He figured the best place to get out of the wind would be back inside of the thicket, since the glade was rather open to the elements. Rais' dark snout probed forward, his bright orange eyes glinting through the shadows as he looked for just the right place. His eyes settled upon the very log that Narime had tripped over, just outside the edge of the glade. A smirk lit upon his face, amused at the irony of it. He moved closer, head turning this way and that as he settled upon his idea. A bit further down the length of the timber was a section where the earth curved downward, leaving a pocket of space beneath it. It was a little bit small, but with some digging it could probably fit them both.

Placing paws to the earth, he dug with enthusiastic haste. Dirt, dust, and roots flew up in a plume behind him as he scooped out the space beneath the log, his head slowly disappearing inside of the pit as he dug further down. A good half hour later the once-grey wolf finally emerged, sooty brown with dirt. He stood back, panting and sides heaving, to admire his work, a sizable bowl shape carved out beneath the log, barely big enough for two. He would have made it bigger but for the night it would be good enough.

Quickly, he grabbed a few small boughs of fallen cedar branches in his jaws and draped them over one side of the log. Now it looked finished. With a proud smile on his face he trotted back to Narime'. "Hey, I fixed something up! You know that log you tripped over?" He turned, looking back at her over his shoulder, waiting for her to follow him to the little shelter he had made.

Narimé Lagina

As Narimé waited watching Rais warmly she chuckled as he sped off after calling her "mi lady". For some reason she just got a kick out of that. Allowing her tail to wag comfortably she waited watching him run around all excited. "Was it because I said a sleeping place for two?" She snickered quietly then watched the desperate boy head back over to the log she had tripped on.

Turning her head the girls blue eyes spied the cloud filled sky. Looking at the trees scattered around her Nari slowly lowered herself into a sitting position. A cardinal tweeted hastily greeting the oncoming evening. Eying the birds bright red feathers Narimé wondered if it tasted good like blood. Too bad it was practically impossible to actually catch a bird. "Except for turkeys. You can catch them if you sneak up to them while they're on the ground..." She nooded quietly to herself.

"But surely a cardinal would taste different than a turkey." her calm face twisted into a thoughtful one as she sat there watching the carefree bird flitting about the trees.

She didn't realize how much time had passed by while Nari sat just staring off into space untill she heard Rais call for her. Turning her gray muzzle towards him Narimé smiled from eartip to eartip while staring at the little makeshift shelter behind the silver and black male.

"Oh gosh how did you get that much done! It's great Rais!" She excitedly got up and hobbled over bumping his shoulder excitedly as she passed. Looking over the indent in the earth Nari looked back over her shoulder and smiled happily at Rais. "He really is a good wolf." She lowered herself into the hole and scooched herself as far over as possible so that Rais could fit too. Looking closely at the hard earth she wondered how he had dug that far in without hurting his paws. It was cold out and she thought the ground was harder than it looked.

She nosed his paws and cocked her head while looking up at him. "Are your claws okay?!" She asked while staring up at his yellowy eyes.

Rais Rose
A big grin split Rais' face when he saw Narime' liked the fruits of his hard work. His tail swayed with excitement and a tingle worked through his shoulder as she brushed past him to settle under the protection of the log. Hastily he scurried in after her, nestling in at her side and getting as close as he dared. Which wasn't hard to do, given their lodgings were quite cramped... Which may very well had been the boy's intention in choosing it.

He shrugged at her question about his paws, offering her a sheepish grin. "Ah, they'll be fine," he said dismissively, even though they were pretty sore. His time as a rogue managed to work every softened edge off of him, and his paws were no exception. They were harder and more calloused than they used to be, at least. He nestled his chin onto his paws, eyelids slowly drooping as the steady rhythm of Narime's breathing at his side lulled him to sleep. It was nice to not be alone for once.
