Rykas Alesci
It was still pouring. Rykas lay beneath a shrub with broad evergreen leaves, his coffee fur puffed up against the cold and the rain. He had spent the morning hunting in the flatter, less vegetated area of Northern Eden. Then, dark clouds had rolled in from the West bearing freezing rain and thunder. His hunt was ruined, although he wasn't having much luck anyway. Fortunately, the boy was not too worried about catching anything, not today. He had been hunting simply out of caution. The old buck from the mountains was little more than a skeleton with bits of fur surrounding it, thanks to Rykas and the ravens. Only last night had he left it to those horrible coyotes. His belly was full enough, and he was sure he'd find something more to eat when the weather improved.

Although it was a heavy downpour, the wolf liked the sound of the crashing water. He fell asleep with his head on his paws and rested for a few hours. When his mahogany eyes reopened, the icy rain had diminished to a soft drizzle. Evening was near. The forest had a fresh scent and he was warm and dry despite the day's storm. Feeling rested and happy, Rykas rose to his feet. As he stood, his forehead brushed one of the shrub's most drenched leaves, causing droplets of freezing water to lightly shower him. The slender male barked in surprise and ran from under the shrub into the open forest, where he shook the water from his fur, a resentful grimace on his face.

Whilst the rain slowed, the older woman made her move. She scouted the land which she knew so well, coming up with a kill- a rabbit. The plump critter hung limp from her jaws and she stepped lightly on fallen leaves. The air was fresh and crisp while the sun was preparing to take a break and let the moon go on shift. With her ears perked up, she could feel her stomach grumbling anxiously. She rested beneath an oak, laying down quietly with her kill. With hunger written across her face, she immediately dug into the flesh of the rabbit.

It was good to taste meat again. She hadn't eaten in awhile, and it felt like an eternity. With Copper Rock disbanded, she was back to hunting on her own. No, she wasn't as fast as she used to be in her youth, but she could still catch small mammals. She had taken a weakened deer not long ago, but she was sure she'd be unable of doing such in the condition she was in right now. Swallowing a large chunk of meat, Pakuna stopped to breath. Her heavy panting created a cloud of vapor in the cool air. With emerald eyes pleased, she dipped her head, resuming her eating.

It had been hard for her to still accept the fact that Copper Rock Creek had disbanded. Even she knew that it was time to move on though. Her own heart beat steadily as she calming made her way around the hollows. Scouting for more territory. Though she had definitely found better areas in Thicket of Secrets for new pack territory, she knew it would be wise to scout other areas as well. She had been quite reluctant to find that Pakuna had not made a decision yet. It had been hard for her to process that one of her close friends had now left. She was quite fine with it though. . .in a sense, even she could understand.

Noises fitted towards her as her already pricked ears twitched slightly. Her posture was erect and straight, clearing stating that she was proud. And in fact. . .she was. She was no longer ashamed of her looks and her pride had long been restored. She now stood tall, her frame accenting some of the muscles that had returned after so long, making her small form larger now that she had gotten her shape back. It was no shock for her to call out when the familiar female came into view. <b>"Pakuna!!"</b> she called out to her close friend. It had been quite awhile. . .
It seems when you're around, my life is complete.
