@Lucero please! I miss RPing with youuu. <33

The Falls were somewhere where he spent a good deal of time now – Borlla had made this land her place to stay within Relic Lore prior to their meeting, and now that he held the hope that she carried his offspring in her womb, he desired no more than to keep her content.. and more importantly, safe. Willow Ridge was not yet privy to his actions, and he knew their knowledge of the matter would not be graciously accepted. Yet he held no regrets, and as the male stood in the afternoon sun, his paws dipped to the very edges of the frigid waters, he felt more alive than he had in months. Phineas Argyris held a purpose once more, and he fully intended to do everything in his power to see it arise.

Inhaling sharply, the ivory wolf scanned the lands before him – Bramble Falls held a beauty that was almost ethereal to him, and he envisioned even more so come spring life. Yet he did not feel comfortable raising a family to close to such rushing waters, and the male knew that soon, the couple would need to strike out and find a suitable land to call home.

His eyes straying to the small makeshift den he had temporarily dug out for the pale dove he courted, a surge of pride overwhelmed him at that very moment, and tipping his muzzle back, the large male allowed song to escape his jowls where words would fail: his life had been in shatters, but with the help of a delicate beauty by his side, he was rebuilding it now. The Argyris legacy would live on in the lives of Borlla’s womb.

Me too :) Shall we?

The gentility of the current and the way in which babbled was as alluring as the sunlight that danced along the banks. She had done her meager share of wandering, but she always returned to the quaint little nook in the bend of the creek that she considered to be as close to home as she was going to get. Fortunately enough, the area was relatively quiet, with only the young butterflies and returning birds to bother her. The solitary life the young girl lived was suiting to her tastes; unfortunately, it left her belly empty even on the good days.

Most of her afternoon had been spent with her head in the water not far from where she'd slept the night before. Luce considered herself an excellent fisher, and while she hardly lacked more traditional methods, waiting in place for the fish to come around was far less taxing than spending hours or days pursuing prey that could smell or hear her. So far she'd had no luck, however. Maybe she could outsmart the fish upstream.

By the time the drumming of the falls was just loud enough to draw her attention, she had completely forgotten about what she was doing. Its cold spray traveled in the air much like the seeds of a dandelion, and it saturated the wood with an appealing freshness. The mist hung on the tips of her long, ashen coat as she tip toed nearer, her golden eyes wide with curiosity until a perfectly melodic tune echoed through the forest, threatening to whisk her simple pleasure away.

Immediately Luce came to an abrupt halt. She held her breath for a moment as she studied the direction from which it came, and her gaze eventually fell upon the creamy figure who stood at the water's edge just ahead. He was a sight to see - tall and strong, with the most beautiful dark marbling along the curves of his back. Whether it was the sheer look about him or the magnificent voice he possessed that caught her, she wasn't sure, but it was worth investigating further.

A graceful approach left a comfortable distance in between. "A song like that might just melt the snow..." she called to him, her velveteen tone as easy as the breeze.

Your writing is always so beautiful, Allie! I always feel so lackluster in comparison, lol.

He hadn’t expected his voice to be delivered upon ears so close by, and as his melody resounded across the skies even after the male began to lower his muzzle, the voice that greeted him was a surprise. His gaze drifted over her, studying her with mild intrigue. The past few weeks had been him tracking down the lone wolves of the area, not them seeking him out. She was pale, even lighter than himself, with only sparse bits of grey to interrupt the fine ivory of her pelt. Her eyes were golden, and her figure almost delicate in appearance. She was a beautiful creature, but the male only considered this through a perspective gaze – his heart was true to Borlla, and no longer would his eyes wander in appreciation upon another female.

Her compliment came as a surprise. Never before had anyone made mention of his voice before, and his fiery eyes blinked, uncertain of how to take such words. Could the stoical and large warrior have blushed, he just might have, and as a small moment stretched to an awkward moment to the male, he cleared his throat in turn, evading the comment with a lazy smirk that smoothed across his muzzle. “If only such could happen,” he returned with rumbling pleasure, his muzzle giving a light dip of greeting to the stranger. “The closer spring comes, the more anxious my paws seem.” There was a small pause, his eyes drifting back to the den behind him, wondering if Borlla still slept soundly. “Pleasure, miss. My name is Phineas Argyris. My mate is resting in that den there, she carries our unborn children.”

Aww, thanks, love! When I can, I write pretty just for you ;) <33

She remained still as a statue when his stare of surprise grazed over her initially. Mostly ever having been a shy thing, it was only lately that she'd acquired a new sense about herself, one she wasn't scared she had to hide from. The pale girl had filled into her adult stature gracefully, becoming more sure-footed than she'd ever imagined was possible. Still, she felt the jolt of apprehension shock through her under his brief scrutiny.

An easy, quiet sigh escaped her as he mentioned the way he felt with spring on the verge, and a delicate smile lit her features. There was something about spring that made her anxious, too, excited even. Like winter's snow bogged her down, and as it slowly melted so did her doubt and misfortune. At the man's mention of his mate and the cubs they were expecting, she perked up like a wildflower after a summer drizzle. Luce found most children to be heartwarming, and the fact that the perfect stranger was to be a father made her excited, if only for him. "Lucero," she returned his greeting and introduction readily, her warm eyes following his to the nearby den. "My apologies, then- I hope I didn't wake her..."

But if he and this mate of his had cubs on the way, where was the rest of the pack to take care of them? There was a distinct lack of scents in the area, and no markings indicative of a pack in general. Additionally, there was only a subtle hint of another intertwined with his own redolence, which she rendered would belong to the slumbering lady. It wasn't her intention to stir the she wolf, nor to intrude upon the male's afternoon, but she was strangely interested.

"If I may," which she probably shouldn't, "where is your pack, sir? Seems to me that there should be others to take care of her," she nodded toward the den, immediately questioning herself for questioning a polite someone who she didn't even know.

His ear flickered gently to the near inaudible sigh that grazed past her lips, so soft that he wasn’t even certain she had released it. His eyes fell to her once more, and this time he was welcomed with a smile upon her features – a befitting image for the delicate dove before him. Her quiet nature was a nice change from the more boisterous lone wolves he had come across as of late, and the male stole a glance once more to the den entrance where Borlla slept – he held no doubt his pale companion would approve of the girl before them.

A small shake of his muzzle was offered to put hold of any doubts she held or worries of awaking the Tainn female. “No, no. I dare say if anyone would have, it would be me and my earlier eruption.” There was nothing else to describe his symphony as – the song had escaped from a wolf over brimmed with emotions, and once more he felt a flutter in his chest at the prospect of what the future held for him and Borlla.

A small ghost of a smile just flickered to his inked lips at her words, and the ivory male dipped his muzzle slightly in return. “It is just us for now. We travel across the mountain soon to claim land and forge a pack of our own very soon.” After all, without the support of pack, they nor their progeny stood a chance of survival; mother nature was far too harsh a creature to allow such a thing. “But we seek others to join us.”

Relieved to know she'd caused no disruption here, it was with a keen ear that she heard this Phineas out. As if the prospect of new life wasn't impressive and exciting enough, he proceeded to mention that he and the slumbering mystery damsel would soon be heading over the mountain to start a new life. Her heart fluttered. It would seem that the creamy man had it all, as if the spring sunlight shone just a bit brighter on his side of the fence. No wonder he appeared to be so happy.

In the end he added that they were seeking company for their journey, and her bright, golden eyes widened with unspoken interest. What if...she could join them? A single, brief wag of Luce's plush tail conveyed what her words could not before falling limply between her hocks. She could envision herself scaling the mountainside at the man's flank, with hope and dreams and the wind at their backs as they took on the new life he'd spoken of. Gulping down the numerous "what-if's" that naturally accompanied such a thought, she looked over her shoulder and back toward the path she'd forged to get here along the banks of the creek she'd come to endear. What if she didn't return to the quiet little bend, where all that waited for her was nightfall and a cold hole in the ground? What if she could feed the lady and keep her company, and be there to help raise the little ones? What if there was a purpose for her?

A single ear laid sideways as the other remained trained in Phineas' direction, and the ashen girl glanced over her shoulder and took a long hard look at the world behind her.

"I could...be of service to you," she decided and replied to him all at once. "I don't have much else to attend to. Perhaps your lady would like some company?" Or, maybe she didn't. The most genuine of smiles spanned her sable lips, her mild mannerism apparent by the subtle, steady sway of her tail, now. "I can fish, too?" It wasn't the only thing she was capable of, the list of such attributes including but not limited to hunting, story-telling, and guarding, though all of this was forgotten the day she'd washed up from the river.

Luce stood hopefully before Phineas Argyris, for a moment swearing silently to herself that some of his sunlight had danced across her muzzle.

He hadn’t expected the reaction he received – the notion he offered her had been more of his purpose to release the information to gauge the lone wolf’s reaction, and see if he could then persuade her to join him. Yet words asking of acceptance slipped past her lips, and the ivory wolf felt relief pool within his chest; he did not enjoy recruiting, though it seemed necessary at this point, and the idea that this gentle dove would help he and his mate raise their cubs to proper adulthood and see them to be respectable wolves was enough for him to step forward, closing some of the distance between them.

He did not answer her with words straight away – his acceptance came with action. His muzzle lifted slightly in dominance, though the caress he gave her cheek was one of friendship and kin. He brushed his frame against hers, rubbing his scent upon the delicate ivory of her fur and skin, feeling the warmth that emanated from her body. It seemed to match her soul, and as his eyes strayed back to her, the male pulled back, his tail swaying in content. “We would welcome you with gratitude,” he finalized his answer, feeling his own crooked grin pressing slightly to his tainted muzzle.

With a nod to the small makeshift den he had provided for Borlla, he began to prowl to the den entrance. “We will leave soon,” he decided, welcoming her to their home. He waited at the entrance, his figure poised, one ear flickered out to hear if his pale companion stirred within. Borlla, he was certain, would enjoy Lucero’s company greatly.

It caught her off guard as he moved closer, and for a second it was as though her mouth had all but dried up. Frozen in place, it was the gentle touch of his muzzle upon her cheek that prompted relaxation to flow slowly enough through her long body. Instinct and a surge of adrenaline coursed through Luce, and to his proper show of dominance she would cower gracefully, tucking her tail between her legs. She breathed in the scent he left upon her deeply, and it was comforting. How she wanted to lean into his strong body and drink up every last drop of it. But she wouldn't dare, let alone move even an inch until he had concluded his ritual.

Phineas pulled away, issuing her a warm welcome. "My loyalty is yours," she reaffirmed in return. Despite that it happened so fast, her will to belong with him and his acceptance of her marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. His mention of their leave only exacerbated her excitement, which beamed from her as she offered only a solemn, contented nod. As he approached the den mouth, she wondered who would emerge from it. Little did she know.

Sorry for the delay. :( Last post for me.. want to give one more and we can archive and claim LP?

She submitted to him gently, stirring old desires of his lead rank when he had lived in Asphodel Meadows. Such was natural to him, and his ears cupped forward as she spoke, speaking her loyalty now. She watched him, as he approached the den entrance. Casting her a quick glance, the male lowered his figure slightly, inching forward to duck his muzzle and head in. As he slunk in to the small confines of their temporary home, his bright eyes fell upon a sleeping Borlla, the gentle rise and fall of her chest indicating how deep of a sleep she was in. He paused a moment to take her in – her intoxicating scent, the subtle coloration of her soft pelt. She was beautiful, though she didn’t seem to know it.

Not willing to disturb her, Phineas backed out of the den, giving his pelt a light shake as he came to open air once more. His eyes blinked to the light once more, son finding their way to Lucero’s direction as an apologetic grin smoothed across his features. “She is asleep for now. When she wakes, we will give introduction.” He gave a nod to the female that she could settle as desired, his own large figure pressing down to the ground now. Placing his muzzle upon one outstretched limb, his eyes drifted back to the den entrance, wondering what Borlla would think of their recruit, unaware that the two had already met.

He fell to silence then, the lull of a soft spring breeze tantalizing his pelt. He was soothed by Lucero’s presence, and in turn, the outcome her presence would mean. Slowly, his eyes would flutter shut, though sleep would not come to him just yet. Relaxation was hard to come by these days.

A woman whose smile is open & whose expression is glad
miss lucero
has a kind of beauty no matter what she wears

For a short time the man remained with his head and part of his body hidden away inside the den mouth. Luce stretched her neck to get a better look, or to catch a glance of the woman who remained inside, which quickly made her feel a bit nosy and intrusive. Quickly she settled back down, her eyes trolling over a twitch in Phineas' hind leg as it anchored him in place. Eventually he shuffled out backward, a grin upon his face as his eyes adjusted to the sunlight. Unfortunately for her and the excitement that was quelled immediately following his next words, the queen remained asleep. She would just have to endure the suspense and wait, and contentedly she did, nodding to acknowledge that she was willing to.

As the leader settled upon his belly, a grin of her own played along the dark corners of her lips. He looked so peaceful as his eyes fluttered closed, and for a moment the alabaster girl simply watched over him. It was strange - she'd come here to fish, and now that she knew she was here to stay with Phineas and his mate, she wasn't sure where to begin again. She shifted her weight, her gaze roving through the forest in every direction. The sunlight was inviting, and she really wished to fall to her belly and join him, but something in her said that it wasn't time to relax. Not for her. If she was to serve this man and his pack (which, for all she knew, consisted of only the three of them), she'd better prove her worth now.

Looking him over one good time, Lucero acknowledged the rumble of hunger in her belly and rose to her feet, stepping lightly to the bank of the creek. Wading into its waters, she remained for the rest of the afternoon, fishing up a good meal for them all. Hopefully Sleeping Beauty liked seafood.
