Home. This was suppose to be home. Where she had imagined a happy reunion, at last saying all that needed to be, and seeing the new faces of her younger "siblings", and the ones she loved and missed. Without anyone it was empty, a real hollow, much like her insides.

Arlette stayed curled up, shielding her eyes from facing the cruel reality that awaited her outside. No one was there, and no one was coming back. Even the scents of Kade, Ava, and Sybil seemed unreal as if a part of her mind was recalling them to make up for the lack of bodies. Lettie didn't bother to wonder who the rest were or where they happened to move to. She had no ounce of want to see them, start over there. Did it matter if she saw the Guardian again? Could Kade tell her a different story? No, the silver and black wolf could not. Surely at this time he wouldn't need an insecure female who had no idea what to do while trying to start his own legacy, move on from the past. She could spare him because at his point she didn't want to be a burden, or a case of pity. She could hope this all settled, but it was all a fresh wound that didn't want to heal. It was too overwhelming to think she had to have a plan b when she had not made such a thing.

Repositioning herself, she listened to her shallow breathing she barely managed to keep from being frantic. Inside the old bear den at least she had a little piece of mind. Pretending she had never left, nor anyone else and they were only curled up waiting to wake up to another day, another adventure. If only...
