Angier Lyall
Exact science,
Mr. Angier,
is not an exact science.

When a burly, almost sickly-looking male approached, Angier found himself face-to-face with a dominance display that was hard to mistake for anything else. The black, wire-brush tail rose, and the pair of citrine eyes met his pale gold irises. The Lyall might have brushed it all off but the question in the form of a deep growl had his hackles lifting skyward atop his shoulders. He scowled, not daring to break eye contact. This was a challenge and he was going to impulsively - and foolhardily - accept it.

In that moment, Elettra faded away into the shadows, not a spectator but something akin to an omnipresent individual... she was everything that he still desired.

Before the Leader could even utter a word, Angier's tawny tail rose in reply; his shoulders squared and his lips curled upward, wrinkling his muzzle into a rather intimidating glare. He growled back through his teeth, evidently unappreciative at how he was initially perceived by the male. His frame stiffened and his fur all along his spine began to rise up in terrible spikes. Then, seizing the opportunity as their other pack mates arrived, Angier struck...

Much like a viper disturbed from its rest, he lunged forward with his jaws agape, his right forepaw and limb lifting so that it could find purchase on the dark male's equally large frame. Though he had yet to clamp his jowls even tighter, he managed to get a good hold of Kasai's scruff with another thunderous growl. Elettra, still overlooking her pack, began, "With this Spring, comes new blood to our ranks and a new era." Angier quieted, but only for a moment as Elettra continued to introduce them then inform them as to why eight former members had left the safety of the Willows.

Angier hastily let go of the man's scruff then, pressing his lips dangerously to the base of Kasai's ear. "Angier Lyall," his voice thrummed on a low, hushed note. "And you will greet me properly the next chance we meet. Now... Yield." His tail curled over the small of his back as he clenched his teeth together, waiting for his opponent to surrender or return the sentiment.

Elettra continued on, the words "missing all the same, there is a lack of Leadership of the male kind...." slipping into one ear and out the other, but not without comprehension. It was all too obvious now just how the lack of a male Leader had affected her pack. "YIELD," he hissed, growing impatient by the second...

Elettra Archer
going to go ahead and reply to get this challenge moving along. contains a bit of PP Tabs mentioned we can do.

Semananti questions what the two mentioned traitors look like, seemingly taking an interest in knowing who they were so she could make an example of them should they cross her path. Elettra listens on, needing not to speak the answer as Guiness takes the stand as Guardian to divvy out the description of the pair needed. Alas, Elettra's attention is pulled to a much more concerning situation, one happening at this moment which had otherwise been a silent dispute until now. "Oh - a show." The words curl in a playful growl from her lips as she moves, bounding step by step from her placement atop the Ridge pack den until landing in the grassy clearing with her pack mates. Her attention shifts to Semananti with a subtle smirk before she comes to stand at the side of Skana to watch the display at better view. "Perhaps they will take us to dinner next?" Her eyes are intent upon these two men, one of which she had known over the years and the other much less so though had proven himself dedicated none the less by having willingly jumped into war after only having been in the pack for a matter of a few weeks. Both men were large, Kasai of many scars and shortened fur to provide an easier access to flesh though he was larger in mass. However, they seemed relatively equal when comparing aspects of one another though Angier's words held an obvious determination not to back down despite Kasai's sudden counter in refusal to stand down so easily to a man whom yet to prove his worth to the pack. The Matriarch has no interest in intervening, though secretly longs for Angier's success, should he prove to hold the strength, dominance, and skill to one day stand close at her side.

Semananti

Sema smirked herself when Elettra commented about dinner and a show, stifling a small snicker as the two men challenged each other in dominance. Her orbs watched them intently, determined to find one wolf that had the advantage over the other. Until then not much would be done on her part. Would she soon have dominance over Kasai or would it remain as it was with Angier lower than her. The ratiocination for the challenge was all in their heads, thinking they could and would get through this without a fight. Though that she was uncertain of, all she knew was two men arguing within themselves and she saw them as nothing less. She expected it from them.

She almost wanted to let a joke out herself, but her thoughts reasoned with what she wanted and she determined that it wasn’t for the best. The words already came into her head, but she kept them there. So everyone is eating out tonight? That was the joke, though she knew it to be a very lame one. She was never good with jokes, so she’d leave it to Elettra. After all, the fine leader did have some humor. She had already learned much about the wolves she called packmates and she knew she would learn more. She kept the information on the appearances of the traitors in her head.

She waited to see what the males would do next; it was funny to watch as the man called out loudly to yield and to submit to his ‘power.’ This was obviously like a rank challenge so she dared not interfere with her own display to show power over both of them. Something she would have normally done due to her tendency to… dislike the male population. Artemis please let this be over soon, their a bit annoying. She thought to herself, occasionally glancing over at Elettra to see if she reacted in any other ways to the power show. She saw more and more men as power hungry thieves like these two. But the smirk still held on her delicate muzzle.

Guiness Thorben
The challenge between Kasai and Angier now held his amber gaze, a small growl of disapproval slipping past his lips. Keeping close to his regal alpha, he kept his body near her, making sure that she was protected from the disrespectful men before them. When he reassessed the situation a few times, he quickly realized that El did not mind the challenge that was happening right before their eyes. Flicking his tail back and forth and waiting for their small dispute to end, he watched in interest as Angier tried to dominate Kasai, the challenge obvious between the both of them. Making it his own point to raise his tail high above his back, though still lower than Elettra’s, he watched the situation with a close eye, not even paying attention to make sure that their newest female member would have all the information she would need from him.

Shaking his head slightly, he took a moment to glance back towards Kiche, his twin, his…friend, if he could even call the man that. Flicking his ears back and attempting to get his twin’s attention, he tilted his large head slightly, a frown just noticeable upon his blackened lips. Was he not going to jump to the challenge that these boys were throwing at each other? It was rightfully his place in the first place. Little did Guiness know that even before Kiche’s children’s birth, would the man be leaving the pack…bound by duty no more, he would be leave them all. Leave the woman that he had bred with. The Guardian would not know the story as to why this would happen, but it would and he did not know that he would have control over anything. This would be the reason that the red hued man would not take up his throne within the Willow pack.

Skana Coho
Skana whipped her head towards the two growling males, her amber eyes narrowed with lips drawn into a thin line, her expression much like a mother irked by a pair of unruly cubs. All that racket as their leader was speaking! Had they no respect? A small grumble began to rise in her chest, but she held it back not wanting to add to the disturbance. Though after hearing Elettra speak of Shade and Rosealia's abandonment of the pack that had supported them, Skana's small hidden growl materialized in a snarl and clack of her dull teeth. To think Skana had liked Rosealia, only for her to leave without a word like some starcrossed whelp. Skana had enough of traitors and concealed intentions to last a lifetime. Narime's leave was announced, and Skana was glad to hear that the silver girl had the sense to announce her intentions before leaving.

Elettra seemed to have finished speaking, yet the scuffle continued on. As the black leader descended the rocks to stand beside Skana, the old wolf turned to more fully watch the action unfold. Skana couldn't say she was rooting for either side, knowing neither male well enough to say. "Maybe we'll have a man to lead out of all this. With damned Shade running off like that." Skana muttered, half to herself and half to Elettra, spitting Shade's name as if it were a curse.

Tempest Thorben

Tempest listened intently as Elettra spoke, but was slightly irritated by the commotion of two of the male wolves that she had not yet had the chance to meet. It was an obvious dominance dance which was normal among a pack, but to disrupt their leadess as she spoke was simply rude. It could have been saved for a bit later, but men would be men she supposed.

Despite the growls she did her best to hear the needed information and was shocked that Shade had abandoned them. His scent had grown weaker, but she had never expected such from either he or Rose. Apparently Phineas had also departed and she hadn't known that he was merely here for the winter. His absence saddened her somewhat as he was the only male since puphood that she had easily taken a liking to. Narime's departure she had known was coming and she would miss the young fae greatly, but she was now Sloane's mate and for that she was most happy. Narime' was her sister now and surely there would soon be little nephews and nieces to ooh and ahh over!

Elettra moved off of her pedestal and quipped about dinner and show and this wry humor brought a smile to the large fae's face. She let her irritation go and also turned to focus more fully on the two posturing males, wondering how this would turn out. There had been no shifts in the female hierarchy other than wolves coming and going, but the male side seemed to be in a constant flux. She could only hope that somehow it would all end with a proper leader to stand by Elettra's side, for the regal fae deserved a man worthy of her. Briefly she wondered if it might be one of these men. Time would tell. She found herself unconsciously leaning slightly on Guiness for reassurance as the scene unfolded.

Kasai didn't care so much for those who gathered around. It was only the new male and Elettra who hahd his attention. Even Guiness appearance was acknowledged only briefly by the dark wolf with a tiny nod in the russet wolfs direction.

However as their little dance escalated the burnt wolf was glad to see Angier sporting a pair as the male rose to his height and attempted to dominate Kasai. A smile of approval appeared on the darker males face as Angier dashed in to attack. Kasai was not fast enough to get out of the way so instead he braced himself for the impact. Angiers jaws gripped his scruff tightly but even as the gray wolf swung his legs over Kasai's back a growl let loose from his throat.

Elettra's voice caught his ears, and apparently her tone had caught Angiers as well for both males quieted as she spoke. They each paused waiting for the black alpha to finish. It was around the time when El spoke of ex-Willow wolves who had left the pack when Angier let go of Kasai. His jaws stayed near Kasai's ear as the dark wolf stared icily at the gray wolf beside him and tensed himself raising his head once more.

Kasai listened to the males warning and chuckled allowing his teeth to show visually in warning to Angier. "I will greet you properly next time sir Angier. ." One ear kept itself on the outside conversation of his other pack mates. The other ear lay close to his head kept tightly away from Angiers teeth. Kasai Noted that Elettra seemed to be about finished speaking up. It was no news to him about there being no male lead. He'd noted it in the border scent marks. No one male scent had been more pungent than the rest. In a pack dominated by both male and female alpha's the border scents would be mostly covered over by their powerful odors. El's had been powerfully there, but although other male scents were present, there had been no powerful male scent along with the black ladies.

"I'm just glad there are all strong males in this pack not weaklings who submit at any sign of a fight. I'm glad to know that you are one of these strong males." He went on complimenting the male side of the pack and Angier as well. "I will have no regret in losing to you, if... of course I lose... For now until you become stronger, I AM BOSS." Kasai whipped his head around to grab Angiers muzzle and hold it down lightly. Kasai did not want to injure the gray male or scar up his pretty face too much. All he wanted was for the man to submit. If only for a short while.

Angier Lyall
Exact science,
Mr. Angier,
is not an exact science.

Only half aware that he and Kasai were being watched, the words being murmured this time came and went without a thought. He might have impulsively decided to accept the challenge, but at least, either way should he triumph or suffer defeat, the pack's first impression of him was one of nerve... or perhaps foolishness. Doubt and ridicule aside, Angier could have cared less about such a thing; he was only here to impress Elettra and prove to himself that he was capable of settling down. Kasai's reply of promising to provide an appropriate greeting the next time they met, provoked him to return the glare. His lips still twitching upward to fully show the gap between his upper and lower teeth, his jaws partially open in preparation to strike again.

The dark male's comment - truly... was that a compliment? Angier was not so sure; it seemed out of place in the midst of their duel - made the Lyall's fur bristle until he seemed to be a tall crusader adorned in spiked, brass armor. Before he had time to even think about what his next move was, Kasai had him between his teeth. He managed to hold still and silent long enough to let the man's words sink into the forefront of his mind to process. ...Boss? Angier's head bobbed downward as the sable muzzle pushed it downward, lower than his. Not when there's no male Leader around to enforce the fact. The war banner that was now Angier's tail swayed slowly in the air as he contemplated his next move in a matter of seconds, making it appear as though he was going to accept his defeat.

It would seem that he had waited his whole life for something like this, if he had not been able to win against his smaller and darker brother before, he was certainly going to try his luck whenever he could against any other opponent now that Borden was not around to keep him in check. Oblivious to the idea that he was possibly holding up their Leader's meeting, Angier flinched away, under and out from Kasai's grasp with another loud rumble of his chest. Once free he drew back just enough to rear up onto his hind legs and heavily brought his forearms down over Kasai's shoulder and back, pushing with enough force in attempt to either make his rival stumble away from the impact, crumble under the weight and bring his elbows into the ground, or possibly take advantage of the fact that Angier's underside was now vulnerable and within reach...

Angiers move forced Kasai to think quickly before his legs buckled. He allowed his back end to be forced downwards almost in a sitting position so that Angier might slide down off him as the gray wolf came down upon the burnt wolf. It half worked. Kasai avoided his whole body being pinned down but his back end ached as Angiers claws worked over his skin and fur. Biting back a curse Kasai twisted around pulling himself away from the gray man.

The dark wolf retook his dominant stance holding his head high and his banner waving curled over his back. For a short time he watched Angier debating on submitting to the fellow simply so as not to get any more scars added to his pelt. After a few bouts with the gray wolf Kasai was sure he was strong, but not only strong. He had a certain cleverness about him that Kasai knew would eventually allow the gray male to win. As much as the Kage hated the idea of submitting, he could already see the outcome. Some might say that he had the smarts to submit, but Kasai knew that he wasn't the sharpest tool in the box. Brain would overcome brawn at some point in the battle.

Perhaps he was smart for thinking that way.

Slowly and meaningfully Kasai dipped his head and lowered his tail. His body also crouched lower to the earth as the dark mans tail took its place between his legs. He waited for Angier to dominate him perhaps with a shake of his muzzle in the gray mans jaws. The ebony wolfs yellow gaze dropped to the ground and a smile crept up onto his face."You know.. That was kinda fun Mr. Angier." He chuckled softly in his low place near the gray wolf.
