Capella Destae
Ooc - Set for tomorrow c:
Blue fog rose up, consuming her feet and pulling an unearthly silence with it. The trees around her stood at attention, looming with all the presence of an army. Shadows danced through the woodlands, using the moonlight as their only source of life. The birds had finished their rounds, safe in warm nests for the night. Even the smaller creatures living in the forest had escaped from the undergrowth into their homes. It was growing close to the hour that Capella too would retreat to her new family's den area. Her tiny frame moved easily through the vegetation, already aware of her surroundings. Though they hadn't been here long, she had already learned most of the obstacles laid out through the years, by heart. The only sound now was coming from her bated breaths, and her paws hitting the ground.

Flaxen eyes were wide as they searched the immediate area. Though the soon-to-be pack didn't have official boarders, and she wouldn't run anybody out of the area just yet, she still had to be on the lookout. If she were to come across any suspicious characters wandering about she would hurry back to Shade and Rosealia. There were still pups to protect after all. On this particular night though, she found nothing.

Resolving to stay out just a while longer, she took comfort in the quiet air. It was always nice to clear ones head, and it was one of her favorite things about this area. It was so quiet, and yet you never felt alone. It was as if the forest itself was alive and looking out for you. With a sigh, she sat on the cold soil. A shiver crept up her spine, as the temperature continued it's steady decline. A stirring in the distance set her on high alert. She knew she wasn't alone, and it wasn't just the forest anymore. The mist swirled through her nose, slightly masking the scent of whatever it was. Using the fog as a cover, she got low to the ground and began ghosting along the forest floor. The scent hitting her nose became clear as she crept closer. There was another wolf in the area, and whatever their intentions, she couldn't be sure.

Lachesis "XIX" Stark
yayayayayayayyyyy :D<b style="color:#838136; font-size:12px;">
He was lost. Again.
The boy uttered a low curse, his yellow-green eyes darting around the foreign territory to search for a way out. Somehow the loner kept stumbling upon the creepiest areas of Relic Lore, and he was definitely not enjoying it. He longed for the warmth of the den he shared with Anastasia and found himself wondering what she was up to while he was wandering. Lachesis didn't like straying too far from her, unless they were together; otherwise, the ghost tried to keep himself close to wherever she was. Unfortunately this time he knew he was farther from the blue-eyed girl than he had planned, and he was lost.
He threw back his head and groaned into the still air, his ears plastered to the back of his skull. The youth was frustrated with himself — he wanted to find a way out of this forest, but with the low fog covering the ground he couldn't remember what direction he had come from. All the trees looked the same, and as the temperature dropped Lachesis found himself shivering in the depths of the forest. There were strange scents that lingered, some of which left an unsettling feeling in his gut. Fortunately for the pale, socially awkward boy they were stale, but the amount of scents was what troubled the boy. His eyes spun frantically around the area, trying to search for something that would remind him what direction Ana and their den were in.
The blue fog swirled around his legs and licked at his stomach as he moved, head bowed as he continued venturing through the forest. He knew that this was stupid — the more he moved, the more he was getting lost — but he couldn't stop himself. The idea of discovery and adventure had taken hold of his mind, driving him further into the depths of the forest. Now he definitely didn't know where he was, but he would find his way out eventually. He just hoped that Anastasia wouldn't be too worried about him while he was missing.

Capella Destae
As she crept toward the scent, she considered calling out to Shade. Though she knew he would come running to her aid, she hadn't the heart to bother him. With his duties to the pack, his pups, and his mate, he was likely being stretched too thin. There were bigger things to worry about right now than a stranger who may not pose any threat. Resolving to call him if things got touchy, she let her nose guide her onward through the trees. Only a few minutes had passed before she caught sight of the stranger. Sticking to the undergrowth, she planned on remaining hidden until she had assessed the situation.

Capella's bright eyes were wide as she examined the male. His stark white coat was illuminated in the moonlight, and for a moment she had to question if he was even real. Never having come across a wolf with such a pure coat before, he was almost otherworldly. Even her own had impurities, dappled with greys and russets. His build suggested that he was around her age, and his actions told her that he was lost. A smile graced her lips as she took a chance in showing herself. The she wolf stood to her full height, which wasn't all that impressive. Though she had outgrown her lost litter mate, she still weighed in on the small side. Thankfully though, the wolf in front of her was about the same size.

A light chuff sounded in her throat, making her presence known. For all she knew, this wolf was going to jump out of his skin and attack her, but it was a chance she was going to take. Yellow eyes awaited the male, if he chose to acknowledge her presence. She cocked her head before speaking, curious to his answer. "Are you lost?" She could certainly empathize with him. She'd been nothing but lost when she arrived here. Where would she have been without Shade and Rosealia?

Lachesis "XIX" Stark
<b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:11px; color:#81A14A;">
He was going in circles! A groan rolled off his tongue, his eyes searching frantically for a way out of this horrid forest. With the night sky looming overhead Lachesis knew it was going to be nearly impossible to find his way out of the woods without help from another. Just his luck, he was going to have to find one of the many feral wolves that roamed Relic Lore. This was what he was supposed to be doing, though — he promised himself that he would make more of an effort to meet more wolves, for Ana. It wasn't fair that she was doing all the scouting and he was lingering in the shadows. As much as he didn't want to, the boy had to make more of an effort to search for a pack. As much as he would prefer it if it was just the two of them, he knew that they couldn't last much longer. They were able to hunt together, and individually, but it wasn't enough to sustain them forever — they were going to have to switch over to a nearby pack soon.
'Are you lost?'
The voice dragged the boy back to reality, causing him to jump several feet off the ground in response. Ghost! Alien! Monster! He landed with his eyes widened, searching for the face of the voice. Whoever it was they were going to eat him — oh shit.
A whine escaped his throat before he could choke it back down, his gaze finally landing on the yellow-eyed girl. His licorice lips remained shut as he studied her with a wandering gaze, his chest still heaving from being startled. Immediately he realized that she posed no threat to him and as he scented the breeze that rolled through the forest he knew that she was alone. The stranger was close to his age, which suddenly excited the youth — although he enjoyed Anastasia's company XIX was happy to meet someone as young as he was. He was no longer frightened of the female, but he still kept his maw shut and simply nodded in response to the girl's question.

Capella watched in blatant amusement as the male became airborne. A light chuckle emitted in between her lips. Had she scared him? She was possibly the least frightening thing she could think of, at least to another wolf. Now prey was a different story. Catching his whine she took a step forward, lowering her head. Being lost in these woods was certainly no good. The mist added an eerie effect, which could make you see things that weren't even there. She could clearly remember her first couple days here. They were filled with shadows, and ghost-like beings. Creatures crawling out of the mist, only to realize that they weren't there. It was definitely something you had to learn to live with. Even still, her eyes played tricks on her. It might never go away, but she was growing used to it.

Her voice was softer than usual as she spoke. Capella knew he must be frightened, if she were in his position she certainly would be. "You don't have to worry anymore. I can help you." There was a warmth in her eyes as she paused. "I'm Capella, by the way." Introductions were always important to her. She liked knowing who she was talking to, and could only hope he would answer with his name. Curiosity burned deep within her core, and the old her was peaking through the cracks. Inquisitiveness was in her nature, and she had a never ending thirst for knowledge.

She took another step forward, slowly closing the gap between the two, while leaving enough room to make him comfortable. There was something strange about the wolf in front of her, and she was eager to know what it was. Would she find out at all? Where she should have been cautious, she was not. This male could kill her where she stood, and yet she was intrigued by him. Somewhere in her subconscious something told her that she was safe, and he posed no danger.

The ghost remained tight-lipped as the female spoke, her words soft and buttery as he digested them. 'I can help you.' He was wary at first, unsure of whether he could trust her or not, but her smooth voice suggested that he could. Her movements suggested she was apologetic for frightening him — which, now that he mulled it over, it didn't seem like she intended to. There was no threat, he knew that, but with a tilt of her head she could easily call other wolves to come and gobble him up. No, he was just being paranoid. The misty depths of the forest was getting under his fur and causing the boy to have delusional thoughts.
Capella. Once the female dropped her name Lachesis knew that there wasn't going to be any problems. The teenager had noticed that when these feral wolves shared their names they were less likely to cause trouble. It was almost like a peace offering — they gave their names in exchange for his, and everything would be fine. Well, at least that's what he hoped. Meeting new wolves was still a frightening experience for the youth, but with all of Ana's lessons and the longer he spent in Relic Lore the more prepared Lachesis felt.
<b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:11px; color:#81A14A;">"M-my name is N-Nineteen," he started finally, his licorice lips peeling part and his stuttering words spilling off his tongue. <b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:11px; color:#81A14A;">"or Lachesis..." he added without thinking, regretting it as soon as his given name dropped. The yearling didn't particularly like giving out the name his parents called him — to him, it was personal and only shared with those he could trust along with his family. It had taken him almost a month of traveling with Anastasia to share the name with her, although she still called him Nineteen. It wasn't that he disliked the name, it was just a constant reminder of his previous life and the blurry three months away from his pack.

Nineteen it was then. The admission of his name had her giddy with excitement. She was sure now, that something in the air had changed. There was what she would call a beginning. It was a very basic trust, one that can be broken easily, but given the right circumstances it might be able to grow. She trusted him with her name, and he had entrusted her with two. It was a start, and everything had to start somewhere. One day she hoped she could call him a friend.

It wasn't until the third line that she caught on to his stutter. She wondered if it was fear, or if it was something that just happened. Either way she didn't mind. In fact, it was almost endearing to her. Ebony lips formed light words as she spoke. "If you tell me where your meant to be going, I can take you there." A playful smile touched her face as she looked to him. He was after all about her age, and instincts told her that he would be a perfect playmate. Senses overriding instincts, she tried to stomp out the thought. She didn't want to scare him away.

Allowing her eyes to move over him she realized that there was definitely something different about him. She could tell it in the subtle ways he didn't seem to care for the small mannerisms that most wolves would have displayed. He hadn't been dominant or submissive toward her. Hi posture never changed, aside from when she had startled him. Yes, there was definitely something different about him, and she didn't think she minded. Not only had poor Nineteen been traveling through these woods at night alone, but she felt no threat from him, no hint of malice. Capella just assumed he was unaware of the customs in these parts. Maybe he wasn't from around here, and so he simply wasn't sure. Either way, she chose to let it go.

sorry for the delay bb! <3<b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:11px; color:#7D9A7B;">
Although he had just met the yearling, Lachesis had decided that he liked her – she was different from Anastasia (not that there was anything wrong with his friend, she was perfect) and it intrigued the ghost. As much as he adored the blue-eyed Arctic and the friendship that they shared, the boy lunged at the possibility of making a new friend. It would be nice to have another he could confide in and hunt with – Ana would always be his number one, and no other wolf would know as much about him as she would, but he liked the idea of having another to talk to. Especially one that was so close to his own age.
His tail wagged excitedly behind him as he awaited Capella’s answer, his pear-coloured eyes not wavering from her gaze. She, like himself, was a loner and especially because they were so close in age he figured it was alright to meet her bright yellow irises. Lachesis knew that if it wasn’t alright something would be done about it immediately, as that was the case when he come across the inky female when he had first arrived in Relic.
<b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:11px; color:#7D9A7B;">“S-Secluded Spring.” That’s what it was called, right? He frowned slightly, suddenly doubting his response as his brows furrowed. Well, he hoped that was right or else he just made a fool of himself. Not even knowing where he lived? How ridiculous!
There was a strange scent that engulfed the loner before him – she smelt similar to he and Ana, but there was something different. Mingled in with the distinct scent of the wild, was other wolves. Almost as if she was a pack wolf, but there was something else … His curiosity began to increase, his tail still twitching behind him. Lachesis couldn’t see the female travelling alone as he knew that if he had been alone, he would not have made it very far – it was because of Ana that he had survived as long as he had. <b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:11px; color:#7D9A7B;">“D-do you t-travel alone?”

His eyes met hers and immediately she looked away. Recalling his slight lack of the social graces she herself had learned when she was just a pup, Capella took a chance. Dandelion eyes left the ground, and looked with curiosity into his almost chartreuse ones. It was strange. For the first time in her life she had looked another in the eyes without seeking dominance. Where she should have felt a challenge in his gaze, she found none.

Why would nineteen so willingly hold her gaze? Finding no viable answers in her own mind she was ravenously curious about it. Opting that it was rude to ask so openly about it, she tried to drop it. Of course her young brain would not have it, and the puzzlement was killing her. Capella's tail continued swaying back and fourth in a friendly manner as she watched the male. She no longer matched his gaze, but had instead turned her attention toward the ground once more. She found that she couldn't hold eye contact for very long without feeling uncomfortable.

Capella remembered the springs, but only vaguely. She could definitely show him the way, but the problem still stood. Could she leave Rosealia, Shade, and Ace for that long? Especially when the pups were still so small and the pack was ready to be claimed any day. She played out various situations in her mind, and finally decided on one. "I can take you over the mountain to the edge of the Ghastly Woods. After that, I can point you in the right direction." She smiled at him, not allowing her sadness to shine through the cracks. She felt terrible that she wouldn't be able to take him the whole way. His leaving also worried her. Once he left, would he ever return?

His next question came as a surprise to her, but honestly it shouldn't have. His curiosity matched her own, and it was to be expected. They were both so young, and their minds had to hunger for knowledge. "Oh no, I travel with a small bunch of rogues. Well, we don't really travel anymore. We've settled here in these woods." She opted out of telling him where. Though she was very trusting, she would never reveal their location. "We plan on claiming a pack here soon. It all depends on my alpha's really. Whenever they decide to lay claim to the land." A smile formed on her lips as she spoke of her little family. She loved them with all of her heart, and would protect them to any end. A question of her own, that would hopefully lead her to answers fell from her lips. "Where are you from?" She let the question hang in the air, and wouldn't be upset if he decided not to confide in her.

<b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:11px; color:#A5BA66;">
As soon as her eyes hesitantly met his own Lachesis realized he was doing something that the female was not at ease with. His companion had been right – all these feral wolves avoided eye contact whenever possible. Which the boy had assumed, considering how close they were in age, that it would not have mattered (clearly he had been wrong). Her eyes, a bright dandelion yellow, reminded the boy of the sun; they were warm and inviting, causing the boy to feel comforted as she boldly met his wandering gaze. The ghost felt guilty that he had made such a brash move and put the female in such a position – like Ana had taught him, she must have been taught that eye contact wasn’t acceptable, but he had slipped up. Thankfully it had been a wolf as kind as Capella, opposed to a wolf similar to the inky loner he had met weeks ago.
When the girl said she would only take him as far as the mountain disappointment nibbled at his stomach, ears swiveling back as he avoided her gaze. It was silly for him to expect anything more, but he was grateful that she would at least take him that far. He just hoped that once they parted ways he could remember her directions clearly. Lachesis was excited to meet someone so close to his age, and he would like his blue-eyed companion to meet her. If Ana approved of the yellow-eyed girl than Lachesis knew there was nothing to worry about – although he couldn’t think of anything that could be wrong with the young wolf standing before him. “T-thank you,” he said finally with a small nod, a faint smile spreading across his dark lips.
’I travel with a small bunch of rogues.’
Rogues? The boy blinked at the word, intrigued by the words that dripped from Capella’s maw. <b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:11px; color:#A5BA66;">“W-what are t-they like?” His curiosity began to grow, engulfing his thoughts as he waited for her reply. Perhaps this could be a home for him and Ana? Would his blue-eyed friend like the fog-laced forest – would he ever grow accustom to it? XIX made a mental note to bring his friend this way to check out the Woods together, and hopefully run into the yellow-eyed girl once more.
<b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:11px; color:#A5BA66;">“Whitehorse,” he replied, voice unusually clear as he recalled the word his mother had used frequently to describe their territory. Capella had opened up to him – whether intentional or not – about the wolves she lived with, the ghost figured he owed the girl more of an explanation than simply the name of his previous home. <b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:11px; color:#A5BA66;">“I l-lived on a r-reserve w-with my f-family.”
