Inactive II. Scout
Sagacity
This fortnight, the rains seem to have stopped.

The horizon, devoid of clouds, was a xanthic hue, reflecting its golden hue on the water of lakes visible in the distance from the mountain's peak as evening prepared to turn into dusk and then melt away into night. There was a dryness in the air, due to the lack of rain and Sagacity found herself wondering if this would be an indication that the summer to follow would be hot and dry. On the mountain they would not have to worry about the heat as much as those down in the valleys, but the lack of water could mean dire circumstances. The pack they loathed sat comfortably near a lake, and would therefore likely always have access to fresh water. And she knew they would deny the wolves of the mountain access to its waters. She assumed, then, that she might have to go on short scouting missions to seek out waters which had not run dry- though she hoped it would not come to that.

Leaving @Mercy under @Asta's watchful gaze, she left the den to take some time for herself and to hunt if she found any decent trails to follow. She moved down the mountainside, hoping to have better luck on lower grounds. It didn't surprise her when she crossed the scent trails left behind by wolves she did not know- she'd been told that a few new ones had joined the pack, but she was busy being a single mother and had not had the opportunity to be as social as she normally would have...Though the thought of this made her smirk slightly- when had she ever been the social sort?

The yellow skies became less and less visible through the tops of the pine trees as she moved down the mountain's slope as with the decrease in altitude came the onset of heavier forests. The scent of prey was on the air- jackrabbits. She'd passed tracks left by mountain goats, but had little interest in tackling such a large creature. She wanted something bite-sized, small and easy. Thus, the female went into hunting mode, lowered her head and began to track.
