Ara had a lot to think about now. It made her skin itch which made her paws begin to dance until she finally couldn't take it. She left the small pool under the fall and clambered up the steep cliff. She followed the river at a fast pace, her legs moving effortlessly as she dodged branches and jumped rocks and holes. After a few minutes, and passing the place where she jumped into the river and rode it to the falls, she came to a panting stop. Her body no longer felt overfilling with energy. But it did little to quench her everlasting desire for adventure. She glanced up at the rocky cliffs and tree covered hills and decided at least she could wander that way for a bit and perhaps run into something to do. She trotted forward and fell into an easy pace. She watched the sun work its way across the sky, slowing to a walk after a bit. Besides a hole that seemed to have belonged to a rabbit or fox, which turned up empty when Ara stuffed her snout into it, she had not run into anything exciting. It was disappointing to be honest.

As her grumpy thoughts occupied her head, she suddenly found herself airborne. Her paw, stepping out, found the ground no longer there. For a second her stomach flipped flopped and her eyes stared up at the sky. Her legs hit something grassy but hard and then she flipped over again. Gravity pulled her downward until she landed in a body of water with a splash. She swam to the surface and then to the shore and stared up at the small cliff she just tumbled down. "Well, then," she said to the rocks. "I suppose that could count as an adventure." For as much as the pale yearling loved adventure, she sure did tend to find it. That or trouble. Well, to be fair, trouble always had a way of finding her.

Psst - I think your avatars are back to front... (I've done it before too).

Peaceful. This place was so quiet. The lingering scent of pack wolves coming and going was prevalent in the air, so he made sure to steer clear of where the scents grew strongest. The last thing he wanted to do in his half-starved state was to go pissing off some pack wolf when no doubt all would be on guard with the time growing so near for pups to be born.

Pups.

He had to wonder about the woman his brother had chosen. Could it be guaranteed that they were here this time? The betrayal of @Desdemona still stuck out in his memory, although @Phineas hadn’t handled it as well as he could have - just vanishing like that without a word. Had he told them, they could have ripped the traitor Thorne limb from limb, disposed of the spawn that was left and all would be back to normal. But perhaps that wasn’t honorable enough for his valiant brother. Perhaps he was the only one who carried such dark thoughts. Instead, he found himself in a foreign land, in the depths of twilight before a new dawn. Would Magnolia Glen thrive where Asphodel Meadows had been left to perish? Would he ever see @Aeolus or @Thanos again?

Serious thoughts for such a selfish beast. It was with a snort and a shake of his head that he threw the train of thought from his mind. Large though lanky frame moving through the final remnants of winter towards the waters edge as he lowered his head to drink. It was an unexpected and decidedly large splash, far larger than any fish would make that drew his silver masked face upward, head angled to the side and ears forward and alert - surveying the rippling surface as his eyes narrowed in suspicion at the perceived whangdoodle. Finally, a wolfs head broke the surface and began to paddle towards the bank. His eyes rolled. Why was it always the clutzy ones he had the misfortune of encountering?

For Aralias, who had only just stumbled upon these lands, she was aware of all the wolf scents around her. But besides when they scented like a pack, she couldn't tell a loner from the place he walked through, it all smelt like loner to her. It was for this reason that she didn't believe herself to be the company of anyone as she stared up at the new enemy, the cliff that dropped her. She thought of perhaps springing up it.Maybe taking it down again more gracefully. It was with an oddly puppy-like playfulness that she lunged at the rocks and then slammed on her brakes to give it a growl. It wasn't worth it, she decided. She turned, thinking maybe she'd head around the lake and se what she could find. But when she turned what she found was a stranger watching her from a short distance away.

While it probably wasn't the best instinct, the first thing the yearling felt was embarrassed. She gave her tail, which was greatly kinked as usual, a quick wag. And then her real instinct of fear began kicking in. She was pretty sure if the male wanted her dead, he would have had plenty chance to do so. Still, that didn't mean he didn't want to hurt her. But then again, when did Ara back away from an opportunity to meet someone? Never. So she padded forward close enough to be able to talk, far enough to not threaten the male. She let her tail fall neutral and then introduced herself. "Hi there!" she said, "I'm Aralias."

The soggy female was, as he was quickly coming to expect of all wolves in this strange place, friendly and chirpy. Far from the sharp remarks he had received with his initial meeting of Amari, this woman decided to brush aside any perceived embarrassment and whether it was a considered tactic or not, proceeded as if she had not just tumbled off a cliff and into a mountain lake where she could have potentially drowned. As confusing as he found it all he brushed it aside with a smirk. His fur remained dry and warm against the early spring chill.

He casually wandered closer, his head dipped just south of his shoulders and his tail was held neither rigid, nor tucked, merely drooping behind his body, though curving slightly upwards at the end. His head inched higher as he took in the sight before him, pale child, a yearling, soaked to the bone chirping away, her tail finally ceasing it’s incessant wag as it came to sit neutrally around the same elevation as his. Bringing himself to a stop a few wolf lengths away, offering them both a clear path of retreat should it be perceived as necessary he allowed his fiery eyes to rest on hers, a much cooler tone before slipping off to look at the cliff behind her.

"I don’t imagine that spectacular performance was intentional with such cold weather upon us?" he questioned with a smirk. Let her make of it what she wished. He had never really understood the true concept of manners like his brothers did.

Aralias, watched the unknown male watch her. She was oblivious to his low view of her and even gave her tail another freindly wag of greeting when he came over. The male was quite impressive, not so much in being larger than her but with a personal confidence perhaps. His orange eyes turning to look at the dripping yearling caused her take a tiny step back. But he didn't seem as if his next plan of movement would be attack. Instead, he stopped far enough away to make Ara feel as if she could escape should she need to. Her pale eyes, nearly white in the subdued spring sunlight, matched his gaze, though hers was a much more curious look. She had only just came upon these lands filled with wolves and didn't know what they were like, but it did smell as if there were many packs around. She eyed the unfamiliar male, wondering if he too belonged to a pack.

When he spoke, Ara started. Instead of returning his name, he mocked her. As if in response to his question, her body gave a small spasm of shivers. She gave her pale coat, which was plastered to her sides, a quick shake. It puffed up awkwardly and she gave a small scowl. She didn't like the smirking look that currently resided on the male. But he looked far more experienced than the pale yearling and she figured a growl wouldn't cut it. The last thing she wanted was to end up in a fight right now. So she let her anger subside and answered the silver male, "If it had been on purpose you would have known. She even wasn't certain what she meant by that, but she left it at that, flicking her tail in what she hoped would be precieved as playful rather than crazy, which was an equally resonable assumption.

If it had been on purpose you would have known. Her age was telling in the way she spoke and it only plastered his smirk more solidly into place. So the little kitten thought she had claws did she? How very... precious. Her eyes were an odder shade than he had encountered in quite some time, and although he wasn’t sure what quite overcame him in that moment, he decided she was ok, if a little immature, and decided to offer up his own name, "Erebos," as a round about way of apologising for mocking her only moments before. After all, if she could find enough wonder in the world to loose track of where she was placing her feet, he wasn’t in the mood to crush her dreams with a dose of reality. That and he was just far too slim to expend extra energy running her off for her foolish outlook.

It had only taken a moment to discern that the girl did not belong to the pack that resided here, but neither did he. Knowing his own chances were far better if they appeared to be a pair rather than potentially putting themselves both in a two on one scenario he allowed his own tail to wave behind him in a gesture of assent. He would not hurt her, as long as she did not try to hurt him. "Come for the view?" he questioned casually. Perhaps if she was looking for a home, he could try introducing her to @Phineas, to see if his brother would have a use for her in the fledgling pack on the far side of the mountain.
