Senka Flint
allow me this moment of bliss so I may begin to miss the torment
Anger kept Senka advancing on the younger wolf but her attention was caught by Aideen’s proclamation. At first, the anger blinded her but as the words began to sink in, it subsided. It was the truth the other spoke. She wasn’t lying at all. She wasn't a trepan who used words like her sister. Not everyone was like her sister. Soon enough, her anger trailed off as Aideen's words completely sunk into her mind and started making sense. Her brother was fine, he wasn't hurt and she had simply overreacted because a small glimmer of hope to see her brother had been overtaken by the thought he was hurt. No one was allowed to harm her brother. Elevation replaced anger. Rayne was looking for her! Ever since his leaving their old pack, she desperately wanted to reunite with him and apologize for her actions on the day he had left.

Grimacing at her actions and words towards Aideen, Senka felt incredibly guilty that she had allowed her own anger to conquer reasonable thought and to snap at the girl that had brought the news of Rayne to her. ”What you say is true, you wouldn’t track me down to simply tell me you’d harm Rayne. Please, accept my apology. You have to understand, Rayne was never one for fighting and when you mentioned he was in a scuffle had me worried for him." Honesty and guilt laced the lady's voice. Her emotions were waging war in her heart and she wished to spill the words on her tongue but she held back. Even after many months, her instincts honed over the years of being in her old pack told her to only show what was necessary. Yet she couldn’t control them enough as she hung her head in shame, her eyes pleading for forgiveness. ”I thank you for trying to help him-us. Rayne was always the better at socialising even with his flustering around girls...” Chuckling fondly, Senka waited for Aideen’s reaction and hoped she accepted her apology. She wanted to meet up with her brother again.<b style="font-family:georgia; color:#fefefe;">

Ooc: BAM! Sorry for the wait, I've had sortof an art-block these past few days... I hope the post isn't overly derp DX

The orange lass stood stiffly, the back of her neck prickling, as she carefully watched Senka's reaction. A breath of relief escaped her body when it appeared that the red pelted dame was finally seeing reason, her body relaxing and an expression of remorse crossing her face. Aideen hesitated to put her guard down completely, but her body did relax and she allowed her teeth to flash in a grimace that was somewhere in between a smile and a threat-display. Then Senka spoke, and the slender girl's shoulders slumped, the expression on her face turning into a real, faint smile of forgiveness; even as her temper still stirred under the surface, she had enough common sense to understand that the woman had simply overreacted out of protectiveness, and she didn't want to start a fight.

If it hadn't been for her own constant effort to keep a cool head, the explanation might not have been enough for the small dame. As it was now, she settled for an audible snort in response to the opposers words of understanding and apology, sitting herself down on a spot of thick, wet grass; eyes firmly set on the other. She released a bark of, rather harsh, laughter when the lady spoke of her lacking social skills; That's an understatement! But her mind was slowly coming to a rest, just like her body had, and, with only a small stroke of effort, she managed to accept the girl's apology, even chuckling along with the comment about Rayne's awkwardness around females.

A short silence spread after the red fae had finished her speech, the relentless rain pouring down over their backs, then a gust of wind lifted the scent of the bloody hare into Aideen's nostrils, and her stomach growled loudly. That's when she gave up on her remaining offense, a burst of true, bubbling laughter falling from her lips; <b style="color:#c7470f">"Alright, alright!" The slender dame, looking even skinnier under her rain heavy fur, shook her head to free her face of water and got back on her legs; <b style="color:#c7470f">"I'm glad you finally realize my nobility. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna eat this thing!" In quick steps, she walked over to the dead animal, lying between them, confident now that their differences had been resolved, and they could consider each other to be trusted; I think I actually like this woman, after all! The tri-colored wolfess chuckled as she buried her muzzle in the meat, pulling the carcass towards herself and starting to rip out pieces to eat.

And it was in that moment, right as the first bite of the hare finally passed her hungry jaws, that the one sentence that could have prevented all of this came to her mind. She swallowed hard, the heat of embarrassment rising in her cheeks, and raised her eyes to meet Senka's. Keeping her voice as level as she could, the fox-like girl uttered warmly: <b style="color:#c7470f">"Oh, and if you wasn't already convinced of my dependability, Rayne told me to tell you this: He likes ferns! Whatever that means..." The last part, she added as a mumble, diving back into her dinner. She knew there had to be something significant to the strange sentence, some past, shared experience to make it function as a code between the two siblings, but she wasn't gonna ask about it; It isn't for me to know! Breaking the secret to almost-strangers would sort of ruin the purpose of the whole thing. Still, the girl's natural curiosity tinkled at the mystery, but she pushed it aside, focusing on the warm, satisfactory feeling of meat filling her empty belly.

OOC: -Flails- Why can't I write like I do in my novels? I'm always doing little description in my posts and they're always so short. Dx (Yours is perfectly fine. I want to do mine like that. ;-;)

allow me this moment of bliss so I may begin to miss the torment
She couldn't help but chuckle as the young wolf remembered the hare that had been caught and after excusing herself, begun devouring it. After nearly all her suspicions had been dashed that her brother was fine and this girl was trustworthy enough, thought was given to the fact that Senka could grow to like this girl. Casting a glance to the sky, Senka shook her fur out only for it to become soaking wet again in a few moments. As Aideen ate, a thought process begun. Cover would be needed soon, if they were to speak for much longer. If not, then they could go on their separate ways. She was about to voice this yet when Aideen lifted her head from the carcass again; Senka wondered what was so important to make her stop eating. It had occurred to her the younger had been very hungry from the way she had begun eating the hare.

"Rayne told me to tell you this: He likes ferns! Whatever that means..." When that was uttered, there was no stopping the bubbling sensation of laughter. It filled her throat and escaped her mouth when it was opened. Only her brother could see fit to use such a code to tell her he was alive and well. That definitely confirmed that it had been her brother Aideen had spoken to, if all else had failed. After her laughter died down, adoration for her brother was clear in both her words and the look in her eyes, the huntress finally uttered with all honesty and still a bit of laughter in her voice. <b style="font-family:georgia; color:#fefefe;">"Ah, it's been a long while that I've both laughed and heard those words. Even when he’s not here, Rayne still has the ability to make me laugh. I am truly sorry for my actions and words against you Aideen. If my brother could trust you enough to tell you those words, then you also have my trust."

@Senka
Ooc: Thank you so much! And I really like your posts, I think your descriptions are very good!

Satisfaction was the all consuming feeling of the orange girl, as meat filled her stomach and laughter filled her ears; the later supplemented by a bloody chuckle of her own, in between bites. While Senka spoke her warm, lighthearted words, Aideen ate as noiselessly as she could, ears perked stiffly in direction of the maroon femme to show that she was paying attention. It made her smile, to hear the love for her brother in the dame's voice and words, and it warmed her heart when the woman offered her trust; which had been a hard fight to attain. Tail raised to the skies, wagging happily, untouched by the rain, the smaller lass lifted her head from the, now mostly cleaned, carcass, and med Senka's eyes with a broad grin; <b style="color:#c7470f">"Thank you!" Her heart was lithe like a hummingbird fluttering in her chest, and her voice was joyful and virile; I've done it Rayne! She had completed her mission, she had found the boy's sister; Now only to find him, AGAIN!

The fox-like wolfess liked her snout, where the rain was already working on cleaning off the hares blood; red-tinted droplets falling to the ground from the tip of her muzzle. She glanced up at the charcoal sky, eyes blinking repeatedly to avoid the water showering down over them; Will it ever stop?! It was beginning to feel like it wouldn't. Shaking her fur, Aideen returned her eyes to the darker wolf, wondering how they should go about finding Rayne and reuniting the two, while simultaneously speculating on where to find shelter; since she was beginning to feel a bit drowsy. The thoughts of refuge reminded her of Senka, and she spoke up, a bit abruptly, words so rushed that there were hardly any pauses between them; <b style="color:#c7470f">"You have a pack! That means you probably can't wander very far, right? Maybe if you gave me some directions, I could continue searching for Rayne, and tell him where to find you?! I've been thinking of heading back and maybe up into the mountains anyway..." She really hadn't put much thought into it until now, but it seemed like a perfect solution, and she didn't mind backtracking, as long as there was a purpose. Her body was already tinkling with the excitement of having a, sort of, new adventure to head out on; and she would be happy to see Rayne again.

As an afterthought, the energetic girl added cheerfully: <b style="color:#c7470f">"Oh, and don't worry about the argument, it's already fogotten!"

With ears perked forward, Senka barely managed to follow what the girl blurted out. It was a wonder Rayne had managed to push a word in edgewise with her! Considering how he used to stutter over the smallest things. When asked for directions to her pack territory, Senka turned her muzzle to the south as she smiled lightly. "My pack is just a little further south. Tell him to call for Lady Elettra, she's the leader of my pack, Willow Ridge." It didn't occur to her that her leader may turn Rayne away because he was searching for Senka first and not necessarily looking for a pack. Elation was in her heart and she felt as if she was on top of the world. Her brother and her could be reunited within the next week or so! The brother she held so much adoration for and had been so brokenhearted to see him go.

Silence fell between the two, nothing was heard other then the droplets falling onto the trees and their green leaves. Fur was drenched and even with the occasional shake didn't fend it off. But the silence didn't last long. "Aideen, would you mind doing me a favor?" The huntress eventually questioned, feeling a little guilty at asking this. The girl had already promised so much for them and asking her to do this seemed to be pushing it. "I hate to ask this since you've already done so much for Rayne and myself but could you promise me to keep being Rayne's friend?" It was a simple question, one that would soon be explained. "Due to him being so quiet and shy around others never really netted him any friends and most of them were girls because they liked how he never flirted with them, unlike almost every other male in our pack before they'd leave to start their own." <b style="font-family:georgia; color:#fefefe;">

The orange girl listened carefully, mentally noting every word Senka spoke of direction to her pack, taking care to get it all right so she could pass it on to Rayne. South, lady Elletra, Willow Ridge, alright! She was even nodding along, eyes set firm on the russet fae. It was clear that the woman was overjoyed at this prospect of seeing her brother once more, eyes bright, tail waving, and Aideen mirrored these traits, her own mind elated by the promise of adventure and the happiness of bringing two siblings back together. She was already getting ready to leave, rising up and stretching her limps, when the question was uttered. The slender girl turned her full attention back to the opposer, ears waving questioningly; A favor..? ANOTHER one?! She grinned, a proper, wide show of teeth; whatever it was, she could handle it!

Senka spoke her query, humbly and with apologies in her voice. Tilting her head and furrowing her brows, the tri-colored lass pondered for a while on this peculiar request; Promise to... Stay... But why wouldn't I?! To the young wolfess, the idea of ending friendships was ridiculous, friends were for life! Maybe this was yet another thing she had to learn about life as a loner, did friendships not last outside of packs? I refuse to believe that! She shook her fur, freeing it of what felt like several tons of water, evenly meeting the other dame's deep golden gaze, speaking much more slowly as she gave her promise: <b style="color:#c7470f">"Of course, Senka! I will always be Rayne's friend. And yours..." The last part was spoken as a question, one brow slightly cocked. The orange femme had already decided to view Senka as a friend, but it would be nice to have her friendship accepted; and returned.

Senka Flint
allow me this moment of bliss so I may begin to miss the torment
Senka bared her teeth in a small smile when Aideen promised to to keep being Rayne's friend. She was relieved. "I'm sorry if I offended you. As I said, Rayne never had any true friends in our old pack and neither did I. I had one but..." Senka caught herself there. No, she wouldn't bring her past up with this dame, wouldn't burden her with her worries.

"Thank you Aideen. I think without you, my brother and I would never have crossed paths for quite some time. If you ever need help, just come find me and I'll help however I can." This was Senka's way of saying that they were friends. She was never good at saying any sort of sentimental things out right, even to Rayne who had grown used to her stiffness around others and knew how to read her.

She then thought of something, something that could be very important. "Though if Lady Elettra isn't available for whatever reason, tell him to simply call for me and I will come to him." She advised the younger wolf before shaking her fur out once again to rid it of the water pulling down her coat. Glancing upwards as if to check the time, Senka sighed. "I should be going; I have been gone from my pack too long and though there are only a few I know, they might be wary as to why I wandered so far away from home for so long." Turning away from Aideen, she paused and peered back at her. "And please, when you met him next, would you send him my love and my wish that Artemis gives him bountiful kills." The last part of her message may seem rather odd to Aideen but once again, it was a code to between siblings. And before she could question it, Senka was gone back into the forest, moving with the silence and stealth only a hunter of some experience could pull off. <b style="font-family:georgia; color:#fefefe;">

Ooc: And IT'S A WRAP!
- Sorry I didn't see you post earlier ^^;

It was with a warm, grateful smile, that the small, orange dame accepted Senka's words as confirmation of their friendship; it wasn't as direct as her own speech, but she didn't mind, some wolves were less comfortable with emotional truths than others, this she knew. She was nevertheless happy to have this new friendship to add to her acquaintances in the Wildwoods, chuckling quietly while meeting Senka's eyes. The larger dame continued, giving what seemed to be some last words of advice, shaking her sienna pelt to clear it of the rain. Aideen was beginning to feel the restlessness in her own body as well, and mirrored the other, standing up and stretching her legs and back; she was a bid sad to be leaving her new friend, but at the same time she was eager to get moving once more, out of the rain and on her way back on this next leg of her adventure.

While the lithe fae was still readying herself for a new journey, her companion was already turning away, her last request making Aideen smile broadly; she would be sure to give Rayne his sister's greetings. And then she was gone, departing with a last comment that made the remaining femme raise her brows in a question, that would not be answered; Artemis..? She stood for a few more minutes in the rain, looking after Senka, speculating on weather their paths would ever cross again, hoping they would and that she would find Rayne again to tell him that his sister was alive and well, and where he could find her.

Then she shook her own fur one more time, liking her maw to clean off any last remainder of blood from her meal, and turned on her paws to trek back through the woods, once more in search, but now of someone she knew where to find.
