This time, she let Ice do all the talking, not wanting her voice to discourage the young women in front of them in fears that her chilly voice would give something away. Biting down on her tongue firmly, she waited to hear what response came from Ice and in truth it seemed to be a pretty reasonable one. Ice and Fenru had also had a connection in Jessie’s eyes and it was something magical to see. They got along well and worked well together. Even when they had gone on their little trip to find Rissa in the midst of a fight the two had pushed through it. Adding Jessie to the mix had just made their team more badass…but her opinion was kind of biased. A small smile twitched at the corner of her lips, her body now relaxed and listened to what Arlette had to say to what her snowball had added.

With her answer Jessie came to an understanding with the other white woman. Every once and awhile someone needed a new start. Many wolves that had come to Oak Tree Bend wanted a new start and from their lives. They either broke or made their life with them at that point. In Hotei and Brenton’s case they had definitely broken their new start, but maybe Lettie would be different. At that point in time, Jessie knew that if there was a chance for the woman to join them it would take time for the trust to grow and for the attachment to come; for them to actually become friends. Wagging her tail and purposefully slapping Ice’s ass with her tail, which could easily just look like she had a problem with staying still, she tried to meet the blue eyes of her alpha, a small look of approval in her eyes. Unlike other wolves that had come to them, Arlette was actually nice and did not suck up to her alpha, which Jessie instantly liked. Maybe for once, they could have a female that wouldn’t run off in the middle of the night.
