Dalton Hervok
There was a cool mist of a rain down by this lake, thick to the point it blurred vision and you could breathe it in. Still, it was cool, a relief from the recent dry temperatures in the outlands that Dalton had been traveling the past few weeks. The thick clouds overhead would have made it a tad bit dreary normally, but the humidity and moisture was a welcome feeling in the brute's lungs, and he appreciated the clouds casting their dark shadow over the land he now rested in. There was a calm about the land here, an eerie silence that had him a bit on edge. He allowed his thick paws to carry him to the edge of the lake, lowering his head to lap up some much needed hydration. The combination of gloomy weather and quiet ambiance allowed Dalton's mind wander on his past, and all the events that led him to where he was now. After spending so much time alone and his search for his brother, the wolf hardly found it a surprise anymore that his mind continually was so far away, pondering if he would come upon his brother anytime soon. His pack instincts made him long for conversation, socializing, even for a day.

It was always strange to imagine what someone close to you was doing at the exact moment you are. He wondered what Ash was doing.. was he on his way home? still looking for their half-sister? was he sinking his teeth into her as they spoke? was he dead? It wouldn't be the first time Dalton had played over how that dilly scenario could have gone in his head. Where was Nina? Was she alive? Was her body being eaten by the scavengers of the land? Dalton pulled himself back from the edge of the water and reclined to his haunches, but as soon as his legs realized they were getting a break, Dalton soon flopped the rest of his body down as well. His pace had been diligent at first when his father sent him out after him, but as weeks went by, he had slowed, almost bored by the task now.

Resting my head on his paws, he stared at what little of his reflection he could see in the water. He closed his eyes, the action feeling good against his dry eyes. It was so quiet and peaceful here, almost enough to be creepy. His nose stayed active, as he was not tired. He sniffed the air and mist around the low-lying early morning lake. He would not be sneaked upon, it was much too quiet, but he was most certainly in the mood for relaxation, and allowed his ears to flop back lazily upon his dark brown fur.
