Lachesis "XIX" Stark
Light snow — Current Temperature: 28° F/-2° C
Set after the claiming of Cut Rock River — @Anneliese

<b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:11px; color:#D7DDDF;">
The venture over the mountains to their new home had left the frail, spider-legged yearling feeling spent but he was determined to explore the surrounding territories. Their journey had finally ended once they reached Cedarwood Forest, close to where Lachesis had first discovered Relic Lore. While the rain had finally dissolved it was replaced soft, semi-frozen drops of snow falling from the gray clouds overhead. The drop in temperature was a welcoming surprise to the Arctic wolf, as his birthplace was almost constantly covered in the peculiar substance. His winter coat had nearly pushed all the way through, which made the ghostly yearling look a lot much bigger than he actually was. Pleased with the turnaround in weather, the boy trudged through the forest until it dissipated into a damp, unwelcoming marsh. While he was not particularly fond of the sodden ground, XIX knew that the area would be ideal for finding hellebore to add to his plant inventory. Not ideal in high doses, the herb was ideal for reducing various illnesses and pain that were associated with the harsh weather that winter provided.
A thin frown pressed into his pale maw as he delicately moved through the damp terrain, pale eyes narrowed in search of the bright green plant. He deterred away from the heavy saturated ground, as he knew hellebore was fond of damp soil not completely soaked soil. He did not mind the soft flakes of snow that settled onto his back – his thick, Arctic coat was designed to keep him warm in less than desirable temperatures.
His mind occasionally wandered to his blue-eyed companion and how she was spending this dreary afternoon. The claiming of Cut Rock had left the youth quite puzzled – he did not know the creamy female that Maksim had called to his side, or why it was her chosen to lead as opposed to Anastasia. Though he did not know the green-eyed leader well enough, XIX still trusted his judgement. Surely there was a justified reason as to why his blue-eyed dove had not been established as his equal. Lachesis also knew that the switch of packs had resulted in a change in the once fragile china doll – the yearling knew that if Ana wanted the position badly enough she would challenge for it, and would not back down as easily as she had with Spectre.

She loved every transition the land contained. Whether the move was too a land more or less pleasant, she didn't care. Anneliese' ability lie in finding the beauty of whatever was presented to her. The calm of the marsh was amplified by the slow falling snow, each soft white flake dampening all sound and coating the area in silence.

Such peaceful scenery was greatly appreciated by the paladin, a surprising thing as she thrived on action. Thus, she took her time, strolling through the woods at a leisurely pace. The oncoming winter weather did little to worry her, for she was confident both in her ability to endure harsh conditions and to present herself as a useful member of a pack if a development occurred that forced her to seek one. In regards to the latter, she was hesitant, as the girl was not quite ready to settle down after what had happened to her home. Perhaps that was the true reason why she pushed the inevitable necessity from her mind.

Anneliese did not change direction when the frosted ground began to give under her paws. Instead, she chose her steps carefully and continued on. With time, a new bit of information came along, riding on the wind and catching her attention in a single breath; she was not alone. The knowledge caused her joy, and she pushed her pace up to a trot, heading toward the source.

Not too long ahead, though deeper within the marsh, she found the form of a cloud white yearling, the definition of his coat blurred against his surroundings as the snow bleached everything. Happily, Anneliese let out a short yip, hoping to fully catch his attention and earn an amiable response.

Toes splayed over the damp soil as he trudged forward with his ears constantly swiveling to remain aware of his surroundings. The deer-legged yearling had a terrible habit of ignoring what was going on around him; a habit that could potentially bite Nineteen in the rear one day. While he had not come across any unpleasant wolves since meeting the fiery-eyed Reaper (who had thankfully disappeared) the healer knew that not every wolf was going to be warm and welcoming. It was unrealistic to think so, and Lachesis needed to be prepared if an encounter turned sour. Since he was nothing but a ball of fluff the ghost had always taken flight over fight but he knew that wouldn’t always be an available option. He wanted to avoid the act of fighting completely yet there would be times when it would be necessary. What if he ever wanted to challenge for a rank? Or needed to protect the pack? He could not run away then.
As snow piled on his shoulders XIX gave his head a quick shake – there was no reason to fret over the idea of fighting. He had better things to occupy his mind with, like finding this stupid plant that was playing an annoying game of hide and seek with him. A frown cut deep against his maw, brows furrowed as he poked at the thin layer of snow with his moist nose. Disgruntled, the boy kicked at the snow with a forepaw, tail flicking in irritation as he surveyed his surroundings. He knew he was in the right place; it was just his mind getting away from him and the troubling weather that was preventing him from finding the plant.
It was the scent of another that pulled the ghost away from his search temporarily, pear eyes narrowing as he flicked his ears in her direction. He did not call out a greeting or acknowledge her presence until her sharp yip broke through the muted silence. Pausing, the yearling turned toward the pale female as he wiped off the previous grimace from his features. XIX replaced them with a hesitant smile, pale eyes studying the creamy stranger before he offered his own voice: <b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:11px; color:#222218;">“Are you lost?” He wasn’t particularly fond of introducing himself before another, as the name he gave them depended on their first impression.

Anneliese Schroder

He was less than pleased to have company, and Anneliese was forced to mentally backtrack for a second, wondering if she'd done anything that would've offended him. However, she'd done little more than occupy the same space as him. Unless he belonged to some highly abnormal culture, she was certain she had made no transgressions. Either he was simply cautious, or he held an unpleasant demeanor. Willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, Anneliese's warm smile never faltered.

She came a few steps forward, allowing a good proximity for conversation, but stopped there. If he was wary, she would not give him need to grow any more concerned about her presence.

"No, I am exploring," she answered, confident of the difference between the two words, even while some may not see the distance. She then tilted her head slightly, displaying curiosity. Surely, she hoped her tone and posture reflected her desire for amity.

"Do you wish to be left alone?"

The thin ghost was exceptional at making others feel as though they were unwanted – a trait he was not particularly fond of. Although he preferred to be on his own XIX knew it was good for him to interact with strangers. He didn’t want to be constantly wrapped up in his own head; instead, he wanted to converse with others and form friendships. His attitude, however, was making a detour away from his thoughts and was coming off as cold as the weather. Immediately guilt began to consume him as his pear-coloured eyes fell away from the cream stranger before him. Her subtle movements along with the tone that accented her words showed Lachesis that she was nervous and felt as though he wanted her to leave.
He shook his head gently at her question as he allowed his gaze to return to her slender frame, a faint smile working its way on his dark lips. <b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:11px; color:#222218;">“No, no,” he started awkwardly, a forepaw fidgeting in the thin layer of snow. <b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:11px; color:#222218;">“You don’t have to go.” Allowing his smile to widen he cocked his head slightly, observing the nameless female for a moment before another question rolled off his tongue. <b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:11px; color:#222218;">“Have you been in Relic Lore long?” Lachesis was utterly dreadful at questions and had completely forgotten to introduce himself. Realizing this, his next set of words sputtered off his tongue, struggling to fill the silence that had settled over them. <b style="font-family:georgia; font-size:11px; color:#222218;">“I’m Lachesis, b-by the w-way.”
