Time accumulated slowly for a wolf with little bearings on its life. Asher's directionless existence led him to experience leisurely days, secluded days, and as his residency within Hushed Meadow stretched on he found the isolation profoundly tedious. It had not been but a night since his last meal - a nesting rabbit found his sudden intrusion both surprising and intensely unfortunate - but boredom lured a hungry spell from his belly...the muted growl of an empty gut prompting to wander from his usual hangout.
His first steps into the foreign woodland were tepid and brimming with caution; the first inhalations of cedar certainly yielded the identities of other canines within the nearby vicinity but none of it stank of declared boundaries. Still...unclaimed lands didn't always mean safe ground.
After a bit of skulking and slinking the fellow's stride became more complacent to his casual nature. He straightened, stretching his back from its catlike hunch, and as he circled round a collection of shrubbery he stuffed his snout between their widely set pair of branches...hoping that perhaps something might panic at his intrusion and betray what was otherwise an adequate hiding spot.
