Whisper Caverns Write Me a Love Song

It's time for a breeding thread! :D I would like to spree this as much as possible :)

March 1st Clear skies, dusk, -4F/-20C

The woman's body was changing, at first it had been subtle but now the change was definite and stronger than ever. First it had been her scent that had changed, just slightly but enough that was noticeable and now she wore a pungent perfume, one she knew could be dangerous if she came across the wrong man. Minka's body was begging for a need she couldn't fulfill on her own, and she was ready to offer what she had promised Tokino. It wasn't her first heat and it wouldn't be her last but the woman was surprised again at how uncomfortable she constantly felt. Her whole body felt warm all over and she could hardly sleep, even food didn't seem incredibly appetizing to her.

It was time and she knew, as she was sure that Tokino was as well, that if she were to bear his children this spring it would be time to breed. The thought of pups consumed her all the time since her heat started, what she would name them, who they would grow to become, what they would look like. In the last few nights when she couldn't sleep she had escaped deep into the caverns where she couldn't be bothered and she would be protected from any wayward loner who would catch her scent. There she had daydreamed the lives of what her offspring would grow to become, strong leaders, intelligent advisors like their father, capable hunters like their mother. Perhaps intellects like her brother Rolland had been, or scouts like Inali and her sister Emlen. So now she waited, and watched as the sun began to sink into a dusky sky for the man who would make her dreams a possibility.

Tokino Lagina

Being not too horribly close with most of the pack spare for Inali, Nari, and Minka; Tokino spent most of his time either in the den or near the border. He tried to stay away from most of the pack members knowing full well what time of year was coming. Though he hadn't particularly been avoiding Minka knowing that it would be his duty to soon couple with the rusted she wolf. It was just circumstance that the gray male had not met up with her for some time. Instead he only scented tantalizing bits of her smell along the borders and along trails around the territory.

Now he was headed back to the den; his twitching nose ever noticing the strength of female scent drifting from the caverns towards him. All the females in the cave dwelling pack were coming into season, but the only scent he was worried about was that of Minka. Her scent had reached a richness that could only mean that she was at or near the peak of her time in season. His brain immediately registered the cloy scent and began to seek the position of the alpha female. The Lagina males instincts would keep him from deviating from this task even if prey should up right in front of him.

Arriving at the mouth of the cave Tokino emitted a low hungry growl. The female scents within the cave had his nerves on fire as the male let his tail instinctively stuck out above his fluffy hind end in excitement. That icy gaze of his scoured the cave searching for the queen, for his queen of the pack.

Narrowing his blue gaze upon her form at the back left end of the main caverns room, Tokino lumbered towards her his gait that of a hunter looking over its prey.

So you were here Miss Leigh...Good evening. Kino did not let up his ravenous stare as he took in her form. The pheromones she exuded and her acceptance of him at her side during their previous meeting had washed all of his submissiveness away. Now he stood tall and proud looking down at the beautiful younger female.

The scent of Tokino drove her senses wild and a coy grin whispered across her muzzle, they were playing a game she knew that they both would win. When his silver form entered the caverns she could tell that he had sought her out for the same reason she had been waiting for him; it was time. Instead of offering herself like a good little wolf the grin returned and the woman moved closer. Brushing her side against his she murmured, "Good evening to you as well Mister Lagina," before pulling away and moving a few paces across the cave. Her tail flew like a banner over her back and Minka knew her scent was wafting about them like a sweet summer's breeze. It was a challenge, would he choose to follow her or would she have all the power in this game for two?

Standing across from him now golden eyes swept over the older man's figure, could this be like looking at one of her future sons? Would they have the same stature and colouring? Hold themselves with pride and dominance the way their mother and father had learned to? A growl rumbled in Minka's throat, but it wasn't one of warning or even unhappiness, it was the sound of contentment, while right now her world was being turned upside down by her own choices, soon it would be everything she hoped for. Soon she would lead a pack that she founded on her own believes and no one would question whether she was the true leader, soon she would be a mother, soon she would finally prove she had what it takes, that her family had been wrong. So far she had come from being the runt of the litter, if only they could see her now.

Tokino Lagina

The hair along his hide bristled as a streak of electricity passed through at Minka's coy touch. He actually leaned against her side as she brushed passed him savoring the feel of the rusted woman while she slipped by.

Electric ice blue eyes trained on her absorbing every feature and emotion that might play across miss Leigh's face and body. Tokino knew about woman, but he didn't know this part about woman. He was going off of his instincts for the most part as the Lagina wolf eyed his prize. Never had he bred with another. Sad, but true of the older male. As he had strictly followed the rules of his fathers pack. Plus the only females around at that time had all been relatives or sisters.

So now the male fell silent watching Minka's mood and movements with a dark hunger in his gaze. The rusted alpha growled in what Kino thought was approval as she looked over his dominating stance. He echoed the woman with a deep rumbling growl of his own as he imagined her submitting to him before the final act. By her playfulness I think it may take some time to get to that point. He tried to make a handsome smile like he had in his youth at one time. However unless a female was into the rugged look the Lagina male's smile might not look so appetizing.

The second took a step forward to follow her allowing the leaders tail to graze his muzzle blasting him with her cloy scent. He took a big nose full of it and sighed as some strange form of excitement ran through his legs. Pulling up beside the rusty female, Kino attempted to run his muzzle and jaws over her shoulder to groom Minka. He paused cocking his ears sideways asking for her compliance to his will.

There is a deer that was killed by a lynx nearby. +10 Health

The woman felt the man lean into her and felt a pleasurable shock run down her spine as their fur mingled. Minka watched as his blue eyes followed her every move, relishing the way he looked at her, like she was a prize to be won not just a consolation. This was new to her, foreign, never had she had someone look upon her so, even Asterion who had chosen to keep his guard up. The smile that Tokino offered wasn't handsome in the traditional sense, but it warmed her heart and the rusted fae offered a smile of her own in return. Her partner wasn't the youngest, the strongest or even the most handsome male she had ever met, but he was intelligent, kind and overall a good man. He was the type of man that she wanted by her side to raise her pups, to help her lead. For a brief second Minka's heart fluttered, could this be becoming more than she had once thought? Or was this just because of her heat? Could Tokino possibly be the man she was meant to lead beside, not just temporarily but permanently?

The thoughts were confusing and swum through her mind in loops, not making any sense, intensifying as he groomed her. It was like lightning flowed from his body to hers as his muzzle grazed her shoulders and Minka remained still as a sigh slipped from her lips. Turning her head quickly she attempted to lick the side of his muzzle, offering her own grooming in return for his. Stepping away now the alpha began to move deeper into the tunnels, down into the darkness, into the unknown. Looking back gold eyes locked with blue as she called out for him, "Tonight you will become my king, and I your queen, come, let us start our legacy." Waiting for him here, she would fall in step beside him as they moved down into the caverns, where for the first time, they would become equals.

The silver male paused as Minka's muzzle swept passed his own. She tried grooming him from one damn awkward angle; craning her head sideways and backwards while his gray maw hovered over her shoulder. Then the siren moved away. Her chilling voice called out to him as Kino gladly followed Minka into the darkness of the cave. Once by her side the pair padded forward into the darkness.

The sounds of water dripping in some hidden tunnel chased the wolf pair as they traveled. Each stalactite and stalagmite watching from the shadows, listening to the sound of water drips and claws scraping against the floor. Great six foot wide limestone pillars stood within the largest rooms of the cavern defiantly holding up the earth above every wolf who called this place home. Surprisingly enough only a few bug eating bats lived in the cavern wolves tunnels. Their tiny squeaks and supersonic waves bounced around the wolves and stone as the tiny creatures flew about. A single bat lay near the roof of the tunnel watching the wolves pass by. Then a large cave spider skittered up the wall away from Tokino's large crushing paws.

The cave lived and breathed whether wolves declared it their home or not.

The pair descended into the farthest ends of the cavern towards the far off den area. The night was young for the gray and red pair. With plenty of time to fulfill every wish and dream to come.
