Sucky started </3 For either alpha

Kass made his way throughout the open meadow that was littered with the white powder that was becoming the bane of his existence. He kept a steady breathe as the rugged male pushed forward, looking for something... anything. Prey, a pack, family that didn't hate him, plants to munch on until he could find prey. Darned shame I can't find anything. I hope spring comes soon. Winter was officially the worst season of them all. He loved fall, it was often just the right temperature for him and he could find prey to fight. He blinked with his eyes wide, his light tawny fur still mangled and tangled. Kassander, perhaps you can find something useful. But I doubt it really. Kass had no idea what he was doing or where he was going. Then he found it.

The man arrived to the strong scent of Whisper Caverns throughout the border. Curiosity filled his mind as he wondered what that pack was about. What was it like? Was there anyone that could teach him more than he had learned in the past? Was there a healer he could become a prodigy or student from? Were there special thingamajigs in the territory? His curiosity caused him to raise his muzzle and offer a small and timid howl for one of the alphas. He wanted knowledge and that was what he found himself seeking that day. His mind was focused completely on that. Valar Morghulis. He kept his mind calm and focused, he had to.

He took another calming breathe and waited.

The borders. They were that sacred boundary that he could not yet cross. He loved the location and everything about this particular pack. Well, he liked what he saw. He waited for the alphas as he stood a few steps away from crossing. He hoped he wasn't too close.

Ash Hervok

In the passing weeks things had been all the more tense within Whisper Caverns. Ash no longer knew who he could trust, except for the select few who were obvious to him. It was quite clear that Namara would be staying by his side, and with her Narimé, which would hopefully include her children, or at least what remained of them. Ash didn't know what to make of what his pack was becoming at times, but he knew that soon they would need members to replenish the family that Minka was so thoughtlessly taking away from him and Narimé would not be left alone. He had sworn himself from Whisper Caverns and he would be damned if they were going to curse him to hell for wanting his family to remain where they belonged. He knew they had choice of free will, but if it meant that they would not be with him, then he truly had nothing to say to them, they just wouldn't be welcomed back.

He was shocked out of his thoughts when a called from his borders resonated in his ears. Looking towards where the call had originated from, the alpha rose to his feet and shook out his pelt to make it look cleaner before heading towards where this man had called for him...for Minka as well. The thought of the other woman being there with him made his lip curl in disgust, but he managed to mask such things when he finally got towards the borders. Lifting himself tall and letting his tail wave high above his back, he stepped out of the shadows and materialized into the light, his mossy green eyes trained on the figure in front of him. Opening his mouth and settling his steely eyes on this stranger, he spoke, "What is it that you come here to seek and what is your name?" He spoke the words strongly, getting straight to the point, making it obvious who was boss.

Kassander watched and waited until the fateful time when the peppered male arrived at the borders. An instant reaction occurred as Kass tucked his tail and lowered his head. What is it that you come here to seek and what is your name? What did he want? "YA prikhozhu iskat' znaniya tselitel'stva. YA Kassander Xanilov. He said in a calm voice, not daring to even look at the male. Kass didn't like talking, but when he was asked a direct question he had to answer it. He knew he was speaking Russian and it took a while to connect that this man spoke English, a language he wasn't the best with. "Sorry. I Russian. I knowledge healing. I Kassander Xanilov." He managed out as it became quite obvious that he was struggling to get his words out.

Kass wracked his brain for something else. This man had been eager to get to the point and for this Kass was almost confident that it would be a true trial to get into this pack. That was okay though, it was a learning experience after all. He took another deep breathe and hoped the man would say something in response, anything. Kass had always been interested in the healing arts and he really struggled with practice and learning on his own. He knew a little but he needed an instructor. He could do other things of course: hunting, fighting, scouting. But his true course was set on learning everything he could as fast as he could.

His eyes closed for a brief second as he took another deep breathe and this his eyes opened slowly. His paws had made an indent in the snow to the point where it was compacted against his feet. His mind continued to wonder if they had someone he could learn from in their pack. Surely every pack had a healer?

Ash Hervok

The man in front of him answered with ease and it took Ash a few moments to realize that the man was not speaking his native tongue. Lifting an eyebrow hesitantly, the male awaited for some kind of sign that the other man was going to try and clear up what he said and make it sound like something the Hervok would be able to understand. When the response came, the Hervok was relieved to hear it in a tongue that he could understand and the brown man's ears perked with interest. A healer? As much as the man would appreciate a healer within the pack, he wouldn't assign such a role without proper training, and had the man not been properly taught then the Hervok knew that there would be a willing teacher not too far from where they were. His sister, was after all, one of the best, according to him, that was.

Flicking his ears forward, the man narrowed his already slanted eyes and asked the question that was nagging his mind, "And who was your teacher? How much do you know?" The alpha tried to speak calmly, hoping that the other man would be able to pick up on what he meant. From what the Hervok had heard, his English was quite broken and Ash didn't know how much he would be able to help him in the end. If need be, the kind man would be able to offer this foreign male a home, and perhaps sent him on his way to a teacher, if one was needed. Sighing, he patiently waited for the man to form the words that needed to be said, clinging onto the hope, that it was in a tongue that he would understand.

His translation is ''He said: 'What Ash said except no 'And' part''

Kassander listened as the man continued to bombard him with question. It wasn't really bombarding but Kass did have a hard time understanding English just as Ash had the issues understanding his Russian. It took only a few words to know what the man was asking though. Who healer. How training. With that Kassander could draw the correct phrasing of the questions. On sprosil: A kto byl vashim uchitelem? Kak mnogo vy znayete? He answered as best he could, hoping to pick up on the man's language a little more in his time if he was permitted to stay. "Training decent. Not much not little. Teacher healer former home." He said, being careful to speak clearly as he attempted to articulate every syllable. He wanted to speak the clear native tongue of the land and he had heard bits of pieces before. Alas it would be a while before he could speak so much as a full sentence of it.

Kass' eyes were unsteady as he looked about. A small sigh from his muzzle as the curiosity burned through him. How would this seemingly nice man react to his poor language skills? Would it make or break this deal? Kassander knew a lot and he was fairly good at learning on the fly when it came to other things. He took a deep breathe and his nervousness started to show. His pale amber eyes held a weak sense of insecurity, one of the worst things Kass could probably show on the borders. At least that was what he would have been told in all of the other packs he had called home. It was sad to think they were all gone. One falling apart after another and another.

Ash Hervok

Though Ash was known for his impatience, he knew that he would need to value his patience with this wolf, and he did. The alpha did not wish to deny this wolf anything that others could easily have because they spoke it. So the Hervok allowed the other man to take his time with forming sentences, and watched him carefully for any body movement that would help him communicate better than his words, but none came. So with a resigned sigh, the man pricked his ears forward understanding the answer well enough. Ash didn't know how he wanted to format his answer, but he also knew what he wanted out of the male. A simple answer that would either make or break whether he would be able to join Whisper Caverns or not, because even though Ash was low on members, he wouldn't accept someone who would not work for their keep, that was something that would never change within the older male.

So making sure to keep his stature tall, he finally spoke, "Would you be interested in a tutor? To teach you healing?" He decided that if this man gave the right answer, then he would be allowed into his pack. And if he so wished to take on the help he was offering then Ash would personally see to it that his language was well nurtured and cared for. Flicking his tail high above his back, he let it sway above him as he waited for the response from the other male. Hopefully, he would understand what he was asking.

Kass was unsure of what the wolf said and held a slight look of confusion as he tried to pick out certain words he could use that he knew. He hoped that he might be able to figure out what the leader was saying so he knew the proper way to respond. Tutor? Healing? Those two words stood out to him and they were some of the few English words he knew. He shook his head up and down in a manner to say yes. He hoped he understood what the man was asking. Perhaps Kassander could even learn to speak English, but he would need another wolf who spoke Russian to aid him and let him know what words meant what. Perhaps there was someone as such in the pack.

YA khotel istseleniya repetitora. He told himself and he made sure his tail was dropped to under where Ash's was and he also double checked to make sure his ears were back in a submissive manner. He knew better than to disrespect the alpha of a pack. His soft and light tawny fur was calmed and he looked almost like a tensely relaxed wolf, or a wolf who was only relaxed when he looked tense. He knew there would be many PLANTLETs on the territory for sure and maybe some of the larger yet harder to find ones. Kassander was in rough shape, hunger had started to claw into him from the harsh winter once more despite the food he had found when forced into a social interaction with Capella.

He took a deep breathe and held it as he waited for the final verdict from the lead male of Whisper Caverns. Kass knew little of the pack before him but it was a home for him to recover and strive in. The knowledge that he would gain there would surely be great. He said nothing as his head shake should have been substantial enough to prove his point of saying yes.

Ash Hervok
An exit post from you and then we're done.

He watched the man closely for any sign of acceptance to his words, and silently waited for any sign. He didn't wish for his impatience to show and dutifully bit down on his cheek to keep from saying anything that could be insulting to the man in front of him. Ash kept his stance tall, not wishing for anyone to happen across him and find him slacking in a position that he had been raised for. Since he had been born his father had always spoken highly of him and how great of a leader he had always been, and while the Hervok definitely had some not so peaceful points in his leaderships over the past years, he had still always won out in the end for everyone else. His more violent side was coming out more as of late, due to the high tensions within the pack because of Minka's announcement. The alpha honestly didn't know why they were still there, but hadn't had enough time to seek them out and call them out on it.

When the leader saw the fainted nod of the other man's head, Ash happily moved forward. He didn't wish to delay this meeting any longer and potentially make this foreign man even more uncomfortable then he probably already was. Moving himself up to his full height, the alpha stopped in front of the Russian man, his head leaning down to firmly grasp the other male's muzzle within his own, giving a possessive pull on the other man's muzzle before moving his tongue over the patch of fur that he had lifted up. Clearing his throat, he spoke clearly, "Welcome." Then turning on his heel, he disappeared within his territory, giving a flick of his tail to the loner to indicate for him to follow so that Ash could show him around.

the last man who thought he could beat a Xanilov
kassander xanilov
has long sense past and rotted where he laid claim to Ebony

Kassander was elated when the stern looking man said those words. Welcome. He had a home, a pack. That was all he could have really asked for and he showed his excitement with a tail wag and an eager look. He was determined to learn all he could, not just in healing but also the language that the pack he was now apart of spoke. He needed to learn more of the common tongue of the land and he desperately wished that his brother Sigmarr were with him. Sigmarr knew over four languages, surely one of them being English or the common tongue to the wolves of Relic Lore. Kassander was slightly nervous about how he would fit into Whisper Caverns and if he would be of any use. "Thank you." He pronounced slowly to form his words through his thick Russian accent.

He was curious as to who their current healer was, if they had any at all. If not, how was he to learn? So many questions plagued his mind that he didn't dare speak for fear of speaking some half and half language mutt and confusing the man with a language he didn't know mixed with the common tongue. He eagerly perused Ash to explore the territory. The PICAYUNE things that were on his mind started to bother him further. "Can I meet healer?" He asked the man, again carefully pronouncing his words as he started to pick up on words just from social interactions he had managed to get himself into.

He wanted to meet him or her if there was a him or her. He drew a deep breathe and eagerly hoped he would get to meet the wolf as they explored the territory.

Ash Hervok

The alpha escorted the Russian man through his lands, his mossy green eyes taking in the area carefully to make sure nothing was amiss while he was there. He was glad that he didn't see anything amiss and was pleased that this man that was with him was not trying to ask him too many questions, either because he didn't know how or he generally got the outlook of his territory, which was a good thing. Ash knew he wouldn't have to warn the other man about much, other than the caverns which were pretty obviously spread throughout the territory, except for a few hidden ones that one would have to actually look for, but the Hervok was not planning on telling everyone his places that he went to when he needed to blow off some steam.

When the man finally did speak, it was with good reason and the large male looked over his shoulder at the other man, his shoulders rolling elegantly as he walked, "In time. She doesn't live here." His sister was committed to her duty and Ash never expected much out of her and he knew that she had been going through a rough time, he would never be able to imagine what he would do if she were to perish. It wasn't a train of thought he was going to actually think about for the time being, he had more important things to do, like say, take care of the new members who needed a den and food to nourish him.
