so soon goodbye

ooc: thread for eek to say goodbye to naira rather than just disappearing p: The time had seemed to fly past her from the that @Naira found Eek carrying on like a broken-hearted whelp at the mountain's base to now. She had accomplished little, in all honesty; no bonds had been made with any of the pack members, she had failed to acquaintance herself with the pups or approach the possibility of training @Nova , and the only pack hunt she participated in had been the one foiled by a sudden storm. Still, she would argue that she had done her part; she had hunted for her own meals, never taking from the cache, and adding to it when the opportunity came along. Really, she had been too distracted to do much else, though. Where she thought she could view the forced separation from her true pack as an adventurous vacation of sorts, her heart often fought against that notion, leading her away from Hollowheart Keep's domain and back toward the iced-over pass that had dumped her here to begin with. With the warming weather, each time she approached the range her spirits were lifted to see that the snow and ice were melting, and that the mountain looked more and more scalable each day. Excitement built inside of her, magnified by the joy of warmth and sun that spring brought. Some days, she would make attempts to climb, but they always failed and she would turn around, skidding back down to western soil and with a sigh moping her way back to the pack. Today was very different. Eek found there was no stopping her; she could see the path clearly, and every step the rocks stayed sure underfoot and anticipation so filled her chest she thought it would burst open. This was it. This was the day she would return home. And then something stopped her, mid step, on the trip that she had been waiting for since the storms first started an entire season ago. Eek did not want to leave without saying goodbye. It was a foreign feeling for sure; she had abandoned so many packs without a word, bitter that they had not fulfilled her dreams and spiteful of the wolves within. But like with @Phineas 's Magnolia Glen, this was different for the girl. She was able to see the favor done to her, and she appreciated it greatly. Without Naira's welcome, Eek might've wasted away in the snows and never seen her beautiful, petal-dusted home again. She had to say something to her at the least. And so she turned her back on the mountain, one final time, and descended once again to the wrong soil. Her pace was quick, determined; the sooner this was over with, the sooner she could return to her true home. Silver eyes darted every which way as she sought the matriarch out.

She had been watching the mountain pass for days now, knowing soon the time would come for their lodger to return to her pack on the other side of the mountain. It had been known from the moment the woman had joined and so there was little hurt or disappointment at the thought of her departure. It was just another one of those things was bound to happen in due course. She could only hope the girls pack would be forgiving of her absence, and if not, well she would be happy to have her back. She was happy to help out where needed but was equally happy to keep to herself. Low maintenance. Just the way Naira liked them.

The tell-tale rustling of undergrowth alerted her to the dark wolf’s presence, a small chuff of greeting going out to @Eek as she drew closer, a small smile on her face. She hadn’t expected a farewell from the woman but she supposed she shouldn’t tar all wolves with the same brush. No doubt the Glen would have pups of their own for her to dote on shortly and they would be wanting their healer back. The arrival of @Couth couldn’t have come at a better time for the wolves of the Keep. “I suppose you’ll be returning to your pack then?” She questioned with a smile, making it clear there were no hard feelings about the matter.
