Spieden shifted uncomfortably on the balls of her feet as she watched the whining, whimpering wolf prostrated before her. It was sickeningly familiar, but this time she was seeing it from the other side. The months, years, she had spent groveling and it had never paid off, her share of punishments spoken for in the bare lines of skin running through her fur. She wouldn't hurt this wolf though, but she just wished he would stop twisting and curling on the ground like she was about to eat him. His appearance was almost comical, slithering through the grass like a rat, but in reality it was just too sad for her to laugh at.

Just like that he was gone, she had inadvertently managed to drive off the hapless wolf. She hadn't meant to, but there was something secretly pleasing in the fact that she had. Her first taste of power and she craved more. The dam had gone momentarily forgotten, but now that her attention focused on it again she found she wasn't so hungry as she thought. Or, perhaps she had more a mind to keep on the move, still restless and finding laying in wait not as appealing as it had been. Especially if the male's trackers found his stench currently smudged across the place. In any case all the whimpering and whining surely had alerted the dam's inhabitants that wolves still lurked, and there wasn't much advantage to waiting now. "Good luck," She called in a short howl, before loping back across the dam and into the night.
