Jessie Tainn

The woman remained by Serach her emerald eyes observing those who came in around them. Drestig came next, a man she had only met once and did not know all that well. The scout watched him closely, just in case she would have to move from her current position to ensure Nayeli's safety, even if she was sure that the lady could take care of herself. Hotei was next to him, and she allowed her eyes to soften slightly when she noticed his nature around the children. Before she could let herself stare, she averted her gaze from him and let them travel back to the two bundles of fur beneath Nayeli. Not long after Hotei's arrival, Triell entered, issuing the Swiftpaw's lower of her head in respect to the Tainn. The shift in power was something she had long since gotten use to and she knew that with his mate's rise to leadership, he would appreciate whatever support from her that she could give, and Jessie knew that Nayeli also appreciated her support.

When Triell spoke the names of his children, Jessie identified them carefully and took an extra note of their scents, committing them to memory. They were beautiful. The only thing that truly told them apart, aside from their gender was the white stripe down, who she assumed was Darrah's, muzzle. Jessie would do the best she could to watch after the two children. She could do the best she could to contribute this year, even more so then the year before that. She certainly did not wish to approach to close now unless she was called over and was content to stand by Serach and Hotei while observing how the two children were acting.

Serach Donata

Serach slipped down to his stomach, staring intently at the two bundles of fur beneath Nayeli's body. It made his heart ache for his own mother - her protectiveness over her children had known no bounds. No doubt drawing closer to the puppies would not be a good idea, so he remained where he was as the rest of the pack began to gather. Smiles were given to all, but he made no attempt to hide his dismay that neither his uncle @Ruiko nor his brother @Sceral arrived. Both had been rather aloof as of late, and confronted by a whirlwind of emotions brought on by the pack's new young, he could have used the presence of his family members.

The boy's tail began to wag as Triell appeared, his face brightening up considerably. Darrah and Zera are there names, he thought, curiously wondering which one was which. Triell and Nayeli both seemed to be relaxed, so Serach decided to find out. Still on his stomach, he began to edge forward, crawling towards his uncle's family. He moved slowly, his ears flat against his head, and his muscles tense - he was ready to retreat if Nayeli or Triell wished it so. He stopped about 3 feet away, his black nose quivering as he sniffed at the air around the two. A brother and a sister. Setting his head down on his paws, Serach stared intently at the pair for a moment before speaking. "Hello. I'm Serach."

Drestig Avalon
Sorry I'm so late on this, I was hoping for replies from the puppies.

Drestig had eye for little other than the puppies, fiery orbs fixed on their little black forms, a twinkle in his gaze. He noticed that Hotei came to the scene and addressed Nayeli, but he didn't pay attention to the question before Triell showed up to give answer. Looking up at his leader, the dark man folded his ears back in respect, smiling warmly, though he remained hunched down, eyes quickly returning to the little ones.

"Strong names." He commented, raising his eyebrows at the two, still trying to get in contact with them. Nayeli helped encourage them with soft words, and by his side, Serach offered greeting and presentation, but alas, the pups seemed too star struck to react; And who can blame them? Shooting the two another smile, the dark wolf straightened up, looking to his leaders; "Congratulations." He said, meeting the starred lady's eyes shortly with a light bow of his head, then locking eyes with Triell. These eyes he held a little longer, remembering all too well their conversation under the northern lights that evening; he wanted to show his king that he was over those feelings, that he was here with support and his complements were heartfelt; I'll protect them!

Then he bowed his head to Triell as well, turning his eyes back to the children at Nayeli's paws. Around them folks were beginning to leave, obviously aware that their presence might be a bit much to the little ones. Drestig considered taking his own leave, but he simply couldn't take his eyes off the youngsters; he was mesmerized by their little forms and looking down at them, he couldn't help but smile.

Sceral Donata

He was going to be late. That would be hard to forgive, wouldn't it?

Nayeli's howl had snapped Sceral's concentration, much like it had done for his brother. He'd been following a scent, hoping to nab himself a tasty morsel. A marmot. He had encountered the rodent-like creature once before, but the yearling hadn't quite been able to snatch it up back then and it had escaped the learning hunter's teeth. This time, though … things would be different. Sceral was determined to be a good hunter and a stupid little furball wasn't going to best him! He lay crouched in the bushes, watching as the marmot meandered about, nibbling at things here and there. And that's when the call had caught his attention, the marmot lifting its head and spotting the wolf hidden in the bushes.

It scurried forward to flee and Sceral leapt from his hiding place, cursing as he did so, bounding after the waddling mammal. The critter turned to defend itself too late and the yearling landed on its back, his jaws snaking down ready to grasp his prey and claim his prize. It gave a shrieking squeal as he found his hold, and Sceral did not hesitate to squeeze his jaws around the back of the neck, clamping down and applying pressure to the spine and windpipe. The struggling ceased and the Aesir-Donata was quick to confirm the kill before turning, food in mouth, and frantically dashing off towards where Nayeli's earlier howl had come from.

He'd known she'd been pregnant and part of that filled him with an emptiness. They had been born and Sceral had felt … well, nothing. A fraction of excitement, perhaps, but it left much to be desired. He wasn't related to the puppies, wasn't related to Triell. Not through blood. So what would he be to them? He reminded himself of the words Drestig had said, that blood wasn't all that important, and it had kept his chin up. For a while. A sense of confused dread swallowed him up as he ran to where the leading pair undoubtedly stood. Was it really time to meet them? It felt sudden.

He skidded to a halt as he came closer to the gathering of wolves, all stood together.

“Darrah and Zera, meet the rest of your family … the wolves of the Bend.”

He crept closer, holding the marmot tightly in his jaws as some sort of comfort. The fur felt coarse against his tongue. He slid down to his belly, instinct and some semblance of memory telling him to stay low and appear small. Plopping the prey on the ground, he whined ever so softly as he wriggled closer, nudging his brother with his nose in apology, his little way of saying I'm here now. His muddy eyes left his brother's profile and, instead, fell upon the small black bundles. Sceral's eyes widened. Had he really been that small? They looked so … tiny.

“Hi,” he whispered to the one with the white star upon his little black face. “welcome to Big Place.”
