Luna Hill you're a sky full of stars

• • Belly filled to the brim with delicious blackberries, Bayliss slithered through the bushes' brambles, seeking now a change of scenery. The sun had long passed through the sky, replaced instead by millions of tiny shining stars, as though its light had been shattered and then scattered across space. Not a single cloud occupied the sky, and thus the night's beauty was limited only by the horizon, snow-capped white to the North and East and tangled pitch black to the South and West.
    
    As she wandered, Bayliss noticed a change in elevation. She sought the altitude, and ended up breaking free from the thicket and making her way to the top of a clear hill. The lone plant life upon it was a large tree who's branches made the softest of rustling in the night air. This, she decided, was where she would rest.
    
    She found herself a cubby among the gnarled roots, and settled in, curling up and opening her large teal eyes to take in one last full gaze at the sprawling night sky. That was when she saw it, a silver streak shoot through the atmosphere, gone in a flash. She blinked, and another appeared. And another, and another. She rubbed her eyes with her forelimb, certain she must be seeing things, as the it could not be as it appeared; the stars seemed to be falling from the sky and disappearing into the earth's horizon. Bayliss lay there, completely entranced and puzzled as the meteor shower reached its peak above.
