Castiel had kept mainly to himself during Dee's absence, not wanting to be around anyone as all they did was usher him back into the den and stand guard. Like he would just up and leave, though that was most likely exactly what his older brother had done. Maybe they did that for a reason. But now that he was back he ventured from the den more often to explore, though at the moment he was lying on the ground and soaking up the sun. It warmed his fur and made him sleepy, and many times he felt himself slipping into a light sleep and then resurfacing a few minutes later at the trilling call of a bird or a sound in the far distance.

It was peaceful, just lying there in the baking hot sun without worrying if Dee was okay, nor having others worry if he would run off. One would think he would be bursting with excitement to go and scout out his home, but after the whole ordeal he felt like it was easier to stay near the den where his parents, family and pack members knew he was safe. Plus it was just so relaxing in the sun that he felt no need to move, that is, until an hour later when he began to feel hot.

Sleepily getting to his feet, the Ridge Prince stumbled into the shade out of the searing heat, plopping down onto the ground once more. Now he was all warm on the inside and didn't need the sun, in fact, he was just a little too hot. Maybe if someone came along he would find the energy to run around, but right then all he felt like doing was sleeping.

Elettra Archer's work (as both Leader of Willow Ridge, Matriarch of her family name within the Lore and mother of many within her pack land) was never-ending for her, who now took the time as she had done time and time before, to scour the territory which she owned. Whilst she left border patrol to her growing collection of guards, she moved within the heart of her home, making sure each and every one of her members were doing their jobs or at least, doing something. It was not long before she would come upon one of her three youngest sons, Castiel. He was the largest of the litter by a long shot, perhaps not by height (as both Deacon and mostly Greer, did exceed him a bit) though by girth alone. Whilst he was still working with mostly puppy fat she knew that within time her son would be a mighty power-house in his father's honor. Surely, he would be yet another of the strong-willed Guardians that were within her ranks. He was slumbering now, within the shade of one of the sparse forest's many trees. She came to him silently at first, content to watch him for a moment before shifting her footing in a manner that noisily slid over the foliage under her footing in order to announce her arrival. She woofs then lowly, her head falling to nose at her agouti colored son, the first of his coloration of her kin.

Okay, I fixed my post @Elettra :)

The Ridge Prince was not sure how long he slept, but he doubted it wasn't more than a few minutes. He lay there for a while, until the sound of rustling foliage woke him from his daydream. His ears perked up and he opened his eyes as he heard a low woof and felt a soft nudge on his flank. He knew the scent and the sound of her voice. It was Mother. His tail wagged, sending vibrations along his body as he slowly clambered to his feet. Nosing at her cheek and licking the underside of her chin, a large smile emerged onto Cass's face. He had not seen her for a while, and missed her company.

"Mother," he barked softly as he drew back, his now pale gold eyes looking up at her face. She hadn't been around much, and neither had Dee. He missed the both of them, especially his brother. "Where's Dee? Why’d he go away?" His mouth pulled down in a slight frown, his brows furrowing. Where was Dee? His older brother hadn't been around for a while, though lately everyone in the pack had calmed down somewhat, but since Dee’s disappearance the Ridge Prince hadn’t seen a single hair of him. Cass did haphazard a guess that he had run off at some point, and if he had returned then he was being avoided, and he wanted to know why. Why would Dee just leave? Why would he leave him behind? Why wouldn't he tell anyone where he was going? Why wasn’t he around? The questions flew around in his mind, and he looked up at his mother, his gaze searching hers for the answers to them.

Just by the very look of her son she knew that she meant the world to him and they very thought warmed her to the bone. His smile, the way his tail wagged, how he licked happily at the underside of her chin in greeting. She remembered a time when the three children of her first litter - @Asriel , @Skoll and @Morganna acted in such a manner, happy within the presence of her and without the need of anything or anyone else in their lives. They had grown now, her presence becoming far less important nor needed with their age. They were doing their own things, growing to be independent, proud wolves. Asriel had even gone so far as to leave the pack lands entirely and without a doubt Skoll's scheming never ended. She was proud of her eldest children, knowing they were strong and capable of accomplishing many things and yet, in this moment as she stood before her little ball of rolls and fluff, it felt good to be needed again. Perhaps after all this time she had finally figured out what motherhood was supposed to feel like...

"When Deacon ran off, he worried us all very much and we all had to work extra hard to try and find him..." She spoke, not going into the details that Morganna had found him with someone else from another pack and that Skoll had ended up killing the Leader of said pack and in the long run, causing the disband of it all together. Skoll had made it in and out. Clean. They would no longer be a problem to them. "He is in the pack den now and until he has learned his lesson, is not allowed to leave there." Elettra made it clear the manner was serious and that his brother was in trouble for his actions.

@Elettra

The Ridge Prince frowned again when mother spoke of Dee worrying everyone and making them have to work extra hard to find him. He was so pavonine at times, all proud and only thinking of himself without thinking through the consequences of his actions. But even through that he was still his much-loved brother who meant the world to him. That would always be the same, no matter what, even if he dug himself a hole in the ground big enough to bury himself in. Castiel glanced up at mother when she told him that Dee was stuck in the pack den until he learned his lesson. He wasn't sure whether to smile or be sad, as he knew his brother deserved it, and it would be quite funny to watch him not be able to explore, but that also meant they couldn't go exploring together. "Dee's not in too much trouble... is he?" he asked worriedly, afraid that it would be a long time before he was free of his exploring restrictions.

It wasn't that Castiel wanted to run off and stay away the whole day by the fringes of Willow Ridge Territory, but he had missed his brother a lot during his disappearance, and wanted to walk around his home where he could ask him questions about his adventure where no adult could hear them. He couldn't do that in the pack den. "What would you do if Gree or I ran off without telling you?" The Ridge Prince asked curiously.

"Not too much..." She speaks to her boy, wishing not to worry him further on the manner. Castiel, though it was very obvious he was destined to be the biggest and the strongest of the litter when it came to sheer power and brute force, was the most gentle of her boys - the most gentle of all her children even. His heart was forever kind, caring and passionate not only towards her family, but all in the pack and likely those he would meet outside territory lines. She expected he would do many good deeds for not only his blood but for everyone he came across and although this was wonderful, in some aspects worried her. She wished her son to never be used as a door mat in order for others to get what they wanted in life, whom might take Castiel's power and willingness to please out of hand. Elettra had every intention to stand up for him on such things whilst he lived here even if he might not at times have the strength to stand up for himself.

"Don't you even think about it." She finds herself quickly scolding with a snap she cannot hold herself back from - the very thought shaking her to the bone and sending her hair along her spine on end. The very idea struck her and the memory of Deacon getting lost would surely forever sting. She couldn't even imagine loosing another or worse, a child dying. Nina, Narime, Phineas... all allies of hers had grieved in such a way, how did they cope? Taking a deep breath to calm herself, she licks at the top of her son's crown to know everything was okay and he had done nothing wrong.

Relief washed through the Ridge prince as Mother told him Dee wasn't in that much trouble for leaving without telling anyone, but still in trouble, which meant his dear older age mate brother wouldn't be stuck in the den for too long. That meant if he waited just a little bit, they would both be able to have adventures again. Within the territory, of course. Cass would never go against his parents wishes, not for the world. They were everything to him, all family was. Without family... he'd have nothing. No one to be there for him, and none who he trusted with his life.

He winced, ears folding back when Mother snapped out that he shouldn't even think about running off without telling anyone. He knew she wasn't actually angry at him, just worried that he might indeed, do just that. But he never would, that would break her heart, and he couldn't do that to her. Leaning into her caress, his chest rumbled with a soft purr, letting her know that he loved her no matter what. "Don't worry Mother. I promise I'll never run off without telling you or Dad." He knew doing just that would worry them to death as they tried to desperately find him. Glancing up at her face, Cass could see a mix of emotions, from happiness to worry, all mixed into one. It made him wonder just why Dee had run off, how he could have done that to Mother and Father, as well as all their relatives in the pack.

Her child would find himself comforting her, leaning into her licks and insuring her that he would never go running off without first telling her or his father of his plans. Of course, Elettra could only assume at one point or another Castiel, as the rest of his siblings, ether litter-mates or older, would like to venture away from the family pack and to find their own placement within the world as she had, perhaps far out of the reaches of Relic Lore, perhaps even to venture to Torbine where the Archer line's glory originated from. So far, Elettra was lucky that both @Skoll and @Morganna were still with her despite the fact that Asriel had left them. She could only assume her son was fine, living his own life somewhere, though Elettra had assumed he would have had enough love for his mother as well as enough respect for his Leader to tell them firstly his plans or leaving not only the pack's ranks, but his brother, sister, and mother behind.

Sighing ever so delicately, it made her wonder exactly how much time she had with her newest litter - Greer, Deacon and @Castiel . For the time being, she would try to shove away these thoughts to the back of her head in order to enjoy the time she held with them now, knowing that when they did leave, it would only be to learn and prosper in other ways and that the family of Archer, in the long run, would survive. "I'm so very proud of you." She murmurs to the agouti boy before offering him a nudge to the side of his cheek. "Come now, maybe we could pay Deacon a visit?"
