Silver and her went back to Whisper Caverns after their unexpected meeting with Vesper, a new supporter to their new possible pack. Athena had sent him to find others to support her cause and if he succeeded then he may have first grabs at the top male spot in her pack. She hoped he knew that though he may become her equal in the subordinate’s eyes, that she was the true boss, or she will willingly beat his ass to show him. She wasn’t messing around this time with this pack. The White Queen was going to be the founder and sole alpha female until her old age gets the best of her, or she passes it down to a child of hers. But, she will give her all for this pack and make sure it thrives this time around when she has a say to lead one. She will no longer answer to anyone. Everyone will answer to her now.

As soon as she got back to Whisper Caverns in the dead of night, she instantly went to where Rory was sleeping and like last time, hid in the shadows and slept close by her. Jealously panged her heart to think that @Ash or @Narime were always within the den with her, sleeping peacefully besides her when it should be her besides her own daughter. Though, she was desperate to not lose another child, she wasn’t going to force herself upon her and scare her even more. It would make things worse, but she was going to meet up with her again before she left as well as Ash. She had some unsaid words to that man and she was going to let him know of her feelings before she left.

A few days passed, every night she spent outside wherever Aurora was sleeping that night, but she needed to go back to the lake and check up on Vesper’s progress. It was decided that he would take these few days and scout and if he found someone, he would wait at the lake for Athena to come within the agreed time. Either way if he was successful or not, he would be there. Once their agreed time was about to expire, she made the long trek back to her future kingdom to see if Vesper gave her what she wanted.

She came upon the lake, a smile gracing her lips at her future that was in paws reach now. She settled down upon the rocks where her and Rhysis once sat and talked. Now they were solely hers and she laid upon them as regal as a queen should. Her one-eyed gaze looked to the peaceful lake, as she waited for her Vesper to appear with a prize.

It had indeed taken almost a day to traverse the dark and gloomy forest, and Roma and her companion had spent the last leg of their trek climbing up steep rocks which Roma assumed would eventually give way to the mountain she had seen. However, before they reached the mountain, the trees and the rocks which surrounded her all opened up and gave way to a beautiful lake. The water was still and in it Roma saw the refection of the stars that decorated the night sky. For a moment, all of Roma's rage and determination gave way under a powerful feeling of serenity. This view was the most beautiful Roma had ever seen.

Then, Roma realized where they were. She had continued to follow Vesper around the lake as she took in the view. Now, she realized they were approaching a lone she-wolf who was perched on a rock. The she-wolf was smaller than Roma, but still muscular with powerful looking limbs. Her fur was solid white which reminded Roma of Zeus, but her eyes were different. They were amber, not blue. Her eye, Roma corrected herself as she realized that the she wolf had the use of only one of her eyes. The other one had been scarred badly and had now lost its coloring. This was not the only scar that the regal looking wolf donned; she had many scars that ran in all directions on her muzzle. For a split second, Roma was in awe of the appearance of this she-wolf who laid confidently on a rock that looked over the lake. Then, Roma's mind dredged up the horrible question: Had Zeus given this girl one of those scars? Instantly, all of the rage that the lake had wiped away bubbled up, coursing through her blood and causing a blistering pain that could only be relieved by giving into her battle lust. All Roma could think of now was tearing into this girl; the girl whom Roma had made into a target for all of her unresolved issues. The exhaustion that had settled into her limbs did not register with the single-minded warrior. Letting her tail rise, Roma took an aggressive stance and pulled her lips back into a snarl. "Are you Athena Moon?" Roma asked. Either this strange wolf was Athena, which is what Roma's instincts were telling her, and Roma would attack or this girl would say she was not Athena and Roma would attack anyway, just to be sure. She just wanted to hear how the girl would answer, what she could possibly have to say.

Some day you too will know my pain
Vespertio Vuesain
And smile its black toothed grin

Home. It was the first thought that found itself at the front of his mind as the narrow path of steep rocks and loose foothold they traveled through to reach the lost lake opened up to reveal the beauty around them. With a tilt of his head, he stole a glance at the stars above blinking with their tell-tale signs that night was upon them and as his mighty crown returned to its neutral position he noticed the clear reflection of the still waters decorated like a glass mirror in replication of the night sky. His thought of home surprised him if not admittedly scared him which he would never admit to anyone, but himself. The lone Vuesain heir never settled in a place for long, never finding true rest nor finding escape from his past. He blamed his siblings for that. Every night he feared his brothers and sister would find him, damning him to keep running and never find a home again. Their punishment for his crimes against their father which in actuality was his subconscious punishment to himself. Not anymore, he wasn't going to let his siblings thwart him again at his chance to settle and hold power between his paws. Lifting his cranium towards the night sky once more, he paused their steps at the ridge that overlooked the lake and parted his jaws to let the powerful and deep tone of his howl come forth, letting Athena know that if she was at their designated meeting place that he had fulfilled her wishes. 'We are home.' And home is what he now found at the lake.

Leading Roma around the lakeside, he whiffed the air for signs of Athena, his white queen to be. It didn't take long for him to pick up her scent as the rounded the bend to where her white silhouette could be made out among an expansive of rock she had come to lay upon. Giving a sharp woof to grab her attention, he allowed a sense of pride to fill his foot falls as both Roma and himself approached her resting place. But a happy greeting was short lived as he senses the anger that was building within Roma just before the final distance was closed. Her tail rose behind her and she took an aggressive posture towards the subordinate woman that she would soon be following under, rubbing Vespertio the wrong way. "Are you Athena Moon?" She asked, but he didn't bother letting Athena answer as he quickly whipped around to stand before Athena, allowing his gaze to meet that of the aggressor before him and stiffen his stance. The guard hairs that lined his back stood on end as the black lining of his lips pulled back to snarl in Roma's face, his tail meeting the same height as her own. "I suggest you put yourself in check now and address your lead female with more respect." He warned her, his voice serious in tone.

She didn’t have to wait long for her Vesper to arrive as he soon announced his arrival with a deep, powerful howl. Within that howl, the message was clear that he had accomplished his assigned mission and Athena smiled to herself. They were one step closer in the right direction. She would soon have her kingdom again and the power she deserved. Gracefully getting to her feet, she turned to face where Vesper and the other supporter would meet her by the lake. Lapping leisurely at the water before walking off her pedestal and onto solid ground, her one-eyed gaze followed the moments of what had to be Vesper and the female that he brought with her. Of course it had to be female, she thought to herself. Him and his charm with the ladies is going to get him in trouble. They needed more males and it looks like Athena would have to go find them herself.

A smile graced her lips as they came upon her, her posture rising to show her future position, but she was more relaxed with her tail only rising mid-height. She figured Vesper took care of the basics, so she thought it would only be a meet and greet and both parties knew what was going on. However, that was not the case as the female’s body language quickly turned sour. A snarl ripped from her own jaws as the twit dare say her name with a snarl and body screaming dominance. Athena’s body was quick to counteract, her own hackles rising and tail rising to be a flag in the air. A threating step forward towards the woman silently confirmed that she was indeed Athena Moon and she was damn proud of it. She was about to put the woman in her place when Vesper jumped in between them and demanded the woman give her the respect she deserved. However, Athena wasn’t going to allow the woman to second guess herself. If the girl wanted a fight, she’ll get a fight.

Stalking up besides Vesper, rather closely to reassure him she noted the way he tried to protect her, but she wasn’t a woman that needed protecting. She could fight her own battles, as showed upon her scarred face. Launching herself towards this unknown woman, she aimed to latch her jaws around the girl’s shoulder or neck in order to push this girl into submission. She was the boss of these lands and this woman was going to know it and acknowledge it.

Quote:OOC: Okay, so scuffle's have to be 2-3 posts sooo Ill post a defensive one right now and deliver a counterattack at the end and then you can post one more where you defend my counter attack and then the winning strike. You can pp Roma a tad if it makes it easier to write out the post where Athena defeats her:)

The one-eyed woman's reaction confirmed Roma's suspicions. This was indeed the sister she had been searching for and she was about to get the fight she had been dying to start. Vesper tried to get between them to defend his alpha, but Roma paid him little mind. She was not afraid to fight two against one; but then again her sense had been run out by the rage burning in her chest. Proving that she did not need Vesper to fight for or with her, Roma's snow colored sister launched herself straight for Roma, jaws at the ready. Roma was no novice; she had been raised by Zeus as well and had been trained to fight. With their size difference in mind, Roma took a small step to the right, so that she was just on Athena's left side, hoping to gain advantage by being on her blind side. Having stepped to the right and loaded up her weight on her right legs, Roma used that to push off of those legs so that her right shoulder connected with Athena's left. And with Athena's momentum carrying her forward, Roma's added force sent both she wolves tumbling. The only problem was, Roma could no longer ignore the simple science of her body. She was exhausted, running on little sleep, little water, and little food. And this woman was no easy target. Not small, not weak, and not stupid. Usually, Roma would have tried to use her weight once the two went tumbling to gain the advantage of being on top. But under present circumstances, she found her muscles too weak to stop the force of their roll and gain control of the free-for-all tumble she had started.

Jaws snapping viciously, trying to catch some patch of skin to either injure or at least control Athena's movement, Roma felt all of the pent-up rage finally beginning to seep out. It was like being really tense and then taking a deep breath; adrenaline pumping and life in danger, Roma finally started to feel like she could relax.

And smile its black toothed grin

Not long after his display of dominance towards Roma did Athena stalk over to his side, reassuring him that she was a woman who could take care of herself. He didn't doubt her abilities seeing as her battle scarred maw and blinded eye spoke of her strength, but rather he felt the need to prove himself to her. For once there was no trickery in his actions, genuinely proving to her that he deserved to rule beside her on the lakeside. And before he knew it a gust of wind blew against his side as the ivory queen lunged for the silvery form of her sister, intent on doing damage. In that moment Vespertio knew that he was of no thought to the woman, the scuffle before him their main concern. With that he allowed his guard hairs to settle back into place and his lips to sheath his teeth, but his body remained rigid in the off chance that Athena would need his assistance. Though, unlikely.

Deciding to watch the show from a safer distance, he turned to leap upon the pedestal Athena once stood upon and lowered his haunches into a seated position while facing the scuffling woman who now happened to be tumbling with no control, snapping and tearing for any bit of flesh they could reach. He watched silently as it went on, shifting his forelimbs almost uneasily anytime it looked like Athena was at the disadvantage. Within his mind he cheered on his ivory queen. The Vuesain man portraying a new side of himself that nobody would come to know about.

The fact that this post was at one moment 666 words... creeped me out so i changed some things lol. Also, AshBash take her challenge anyway you want(; And I hope this is okay, Missy(: also, no need to match this length! I was listening to some rally good music and it got me going(:

Her one-sided vision turned red as her adrenaline spiked and her anger rose. How dare this woman come upon her lands (granted they weren’t exactly hers yet) and spit her name out like it was nothing. She will not be treated this way without repercussions. Athena didn’t know why this woman had a problem with her and frankly she didn’t care, but the girl’s mistake was the way she talked to Athena and the way she approached her on her lands. In her past, she may have rather asked why such a tone was needed, but now she was a woman that didn’t take any shit and reacted first. Perhaps this will be her downfall, but at the moment she was too focused on showing this woman who exactly Athena Moon was.

The girl was obviously fit and larger than herself, but Athena had speed, stamina and possibly more fighting experience on her side. This woman was also (unknown to Athena at the time) very tired and exhausted from the journey over here, so their fight could have been better matched if she was in fine health. But she still put up a good fight. With Athena’s initial lunge towards her, she used the pale woman’s blind spot as an advantage and skidded to the right, though Athena was still able to slightly see her by moving her head more to her left. However, this opened up her neck and made it vulnerable with it not being in between her set, upright shoulder. Before Athena knew it the two of them where sent tumbling when the woman pushed herself forward with her own counteract. With two sets of jaws snapping at anything they could get ahold of, it was a battle of endurance and speed.

Her opponent was able to get ahold of part of her skin in places, but with their tumbling, her teeth were ripped out. However, it wasn’t long for Athena to get the upper hand when she on top of the black and white female. Her jaws were able to successful wrap around the top of the girl’s neck along her spinal cord. In that moment, her challenger laid still on her side, Athena standing above her grasping her delicate spine. Both knew that Athena could crush the woman’s lifeline and it would be all over. Athena stood there for a while, letting the message sink clear into the girl’s head. She had her life in her jaws and she could end it right here and right now if she wanted to. However, Athena wasn’t that cruel. Releasing the girl, she let go a snarl right in the face of her defeated challenger to set the message clear in her mind. Athena was not a woman to be messed with. Period.

Moving off the woman, she turned to her right so that Athena could keep the girl in her sights as she walked back to Vesper. A look of displeasure clear on her face, she looked to Vesper for answers. Why would he bring this to her? Was he trying to take her out so that him and this female could take her kingdom that she so gracefully offered to him? A growl rumbled through her chest as she approached him. However, as she thought back to when the girl first approached her, he had suddenly stepped forward to protect her from this woman. Perhaps, he didn’t even know of this girl’s anger towards her. Or was it all a show? “Vesper… What is this that you bring me? A woman that can’t stand under my authority or something more?” Her teeth clicked together as she got closer, daring him to challenge her. Perhaps he’ll show her that he isn’t a push-over if he did. It may clear his name if he stood up for himself and told her that he had no idea of this woman’s anger. She always liked a man that could stand his ground.

Roma tried her best to fight off the older woman. She had waited so long for this fight, but now she was exhausted and unable to use her own size to her advantage. If anything, it was weighing her down. Roma felt her teeth connect with her opponents skin several times, but she just could not get a good hold. Then, Athena won. Just like that she wrapped her powerful jaws around Roma's throat and spinal chord and Roma went still out of pure instinct. Then, there was something more than defeat. A sense of despair and shame washed over Roma, but it was quickly overwhelmed by a powerful sense of relief. Roma could not understand it, but something about fighting Athena, even if she had lost, made her feel better. Roma couldn't gather her thoughts, she couldn't understand how losing to her sister somehow made up for running away from the man that murdered her mother. None of it added up.

Roma was so consumed in her own confusion that she almost missed the exchange between Vesper and Athena. She tuned in at the very end and briefly wondered why it sounded like Athena was implying that she did not trust Vesper. Of course, Roma didn't blame her but weren't they starting a pack together? Roma shook her head, trying to block out such trivial thoughts as she got to her paws and once again approached her sister. This time, she wisely kept her belly to the ground and crawled to the superior she-wolf. Roma kept her ears and tail flat, hoping to signal as much respect and submission as possible. This was a very new role for her, she rarely submitted to anyone. The only wolf that she had even shown respect to was her mentor, Art. In fact, Roma felt very silly being so submissive, but she needed to make sure that Athena knew that she (Roma) understood her place here. Not even realizing that her speech was also a defense for Vesper, Roma chimed in to answer Athena's questions. "No, please. It was not his fault." Roma paused to make sure that Athena's attention switched back to her. "I am your sister. My name is Andromache Moon and I have been searching for you to get revenge for you killing our father." Roma paused and in a menacing voice continued: "He was mine to kill." She had to work very hard to pull back the rage that accompanied thoughts of her father. She didn't want Athena to think that the rage was directed towards her. "I thought that by fighting you, I could somehow redeem myself for not being the one to kill that bastard." Roma admitted shamefully. She had failed in her mission of redemption. Now where would she go? What would she do with herself now that she was unable to rid herself of the guilt of not avenging her mother?

Vespertio Vuesain
And smile its black toothed grin

It didn't take long for the scuffle between the two moon sisters to come to an end, @Athena standing over her sister victoriously with her very lifeline dangling between the fangs of her jaw. Making her point that she was not to be underestimated, she then released her hold and turned to approach the dark coated male with a growl of displease rumbling the cavity of her chest. Bewilderment in Vespertio's golden gaze shown through before changing to outrage as the woman before him had the audacity to accuse him of plotting something against her. Yes, being a mythomane from time to time he would lie to save his own ass and perform something in the likeliness of this, but that just wasn't the case this time. He was an innocent man and would voice it so. Vespertio Vuesain backed down to nobody these days and would hold his ground.

Quickly his body rose from its sitting position and stood rigid before her, a low rumbling growl of his own reverberating in the cavity of his chest as he leapt down from the rocky pedestal and faced her on even ground. "You honestly think that I had any idea that @Andromache had a death wish against you?!" His temper rose slightly as the black lining of his lips rose to bare the whites of his teeth. If there was one thing he could not stand, it was being accused of things he had no part in. In all honesty he knew nothing of Roma's intentions and all he had come to know from their trek back to the lake from the deep forest was that they were related. That was it. He ended all conversation between them once she spilled the beans on being related. His tail flicked with annoyance behind him, his tongue sliding past his teeth to wet the tip of his nose before returning to its cave within his mouth. A fire burned behind the golden hue of his eyes as he bore into Athena's almost in a way that willed her to see the truth of his words, but then almost after forgetting Roma was still present his ears twitched in her direction as she spoke at his defense. "No, please. It was not his fault." An annoyance mixed within the outrage of his growl as it grew louder, snapping at the silver woman and cutting off the rest of her words as he spoke once more. "I don't need a woman coming to my defense. I know my innocence of the shenanigans she accuses me of, whether she believes it or not. I was sent to recruit and recruit I did. So it happened to be you, her sister. I did what I was sent to do. That is where I stand." Then his gaze drifted back from the now submissive woman to Athena, allowing his mouth to fall silent but his eyes still held that smoldering look. There was nothing else to say, he had no reason to defend himself further of something he didn't do.

As his mouth fell silent, though, Roma once more spoke her piece of the story. "I am your sister. My name is Andromache Moon and I have been searching for you to get revenge for you killing our father. He was mine to kill. I thought that by fighting you, I could somehow redeem myself for not being the one to kill that bastard." Now this intrigued Vesper and allowed the rage flowing through his veins to subside only enough to allow the snarl that was present on his lips to smooth out into a harsh line. Well that explained the sudden lunge for each other as soon as they came close to one another. 'This should be interesting.' He thought as he once more swept his gaze away from the white woman of the lake to her sister then back. Curiosity got to the best of him as he awaited to hear her response.

Again, no need to match length, got carried away again(;

It didn’t take Vesper long to react to her challenge. His body rose to full height as he stood above her on her pedestal. But, he quickly leaped down to face her on solid ground. He was far taller than her, but that wasn’t a concern for her. Neither were backing down. His harsh words spoke of his innocence to the fact that this girl, Andromache, was out for her head. Though, he had traveled with her for a time and he obviously told the girl her name, so she knew who she was. Was there no anger from Andromache when he said her name? Perhaps, this woman was in the act of trickery and had masked her aggression towards her from Vesper.

It would be foolish to jeopardize her relationship with the only male so far in her pack. No matter how much she wanted to deny it, she needed him. And now all she was doing is accusing him of things that he obviously wasn’t guilty of with his display of genuine innocence. She had expected him to cower and stumbled about with excuses, but with him standing his ground against her, he validated that he was innocent. She was about to apologize to him for accusing him of wrong doing, until the words ”her sister’ left his dark lips.

Her eye quickly turned to Roma, looking her over silently. Her sister? As she looked her over, she instantly saw the connection they had. She had her father’s eyes and her tawny coat resembled Penelope’s only a bit colder and less earthly. How could this be? Her mother died. There was no way that they could be blood sisters. But perhaps her mother was able to birth one last litter before Zeus murdered her when Athena was about to turned two years old. She had been gone for a year, so there was a chance.

Then the girl spoke. ”I am your sister. My name is Andromache Moon and I have been searching for you to get revenge for you killing our father.” So, she was blood related. Every litter that she knew Zeus had, he had them take the surname of the mother. To the mothers, he acted as if they deserved the credit of their children, not him. It sounded sweet at first, but Athena knew the real reason. He was a cheater and a liar and didn’t want to keep putting his name out there. There were many wolves out there to get him, so the less he left a trail, the less likely they’d find him. The next words that left her lips ignited the fire within her once again. How dare she say that. Zeus was her’s to kill, no one else’s. Zeus caused her so much pain, it was unreal.

Her lips wrinkled to show her off white teeth, her tongue snaking out to wet her nose before she began to stalk towards her submissive sister. ”He was mine to kill,” she growled loudly. ”He tried to kill me when I was a mere yearling. Pretending he was taking me on a hunting trip, where he attacked me, broke my leg and threw me into the river to drown and die.” She stated, her voice deep and angry before she chuckled in an evil tone, ”Oh, but I survived and plotted to take my revenge over the next 7 months until I heard he killed my mother. I tried to kill him in the middle of the night, while he slept with his new mate, but he survived. He came after me a few months ago and kidnapped me, while I was trying to heal my own daughter. He tortured and beat me, until I took my chance and fought and killed him where he took my eyesight from me. I came back to my home where my daughter and the man I loved lived, but my daughter didn’t recognize me from the hideous scars he left on my face!” She screamed the last part, the pain still fresh in her heart at the rejection they showed her. ”My own daughter doesn’t recognize me because of the scars he gave me! Oh, you are mistaken; he had always been mine to kill.” She finished, her eyes leaving Roma’s before she turned back towards Vesper, surprisingly seeking comfort in his company. She went to his side, her eye looking into his, seeking forgiveness for her accusations. ”I’m sorry. I was wrong,” she whispered for only him to hear before she bumped his cheek with her nose. She then walked behind him to stand at his side, her body close to his, her eyes finally looking back at her sister.
