Iopah Reinier

The smile was such a shock that for a moment Iopah could do nothing. She'd been trying and hoping to draw him out of his shell. A pup that did not trust his family would not learn the details of his home or run in the meadows after prey with them. Already she'd been worrying over the kind of life he would have. All her previous concerns and worries were forgotten looking down at his bright face. He would be fine, Iopah would make sure of it.

Even before he asked her tail had started into a haphazard tempo. The closer he came the quicker the pace. At his invitation she sunk back to her elbows, using her body language to answer his question. There was more than one way to communicate. Her play bow and thrashing tail said 'yes' all on their own. She reached out for the rabbit again.

It lay just beyond her feet, but she moved slowly, daring Silentium to grab it with her snail speed. Her nose touched it and she inhaled deep. She could smell the sweetness of blood and the wild thyme it had eaten before being caught. It reminded her of something else and her tail hesitated. Koda. Still crouched over the rabbit her eyes lifted to him. Caught up with Silentium she'd nearly forgotten him. She gazed up at him apologetically for a moment then her eyes flashed playfully at him and she was dragging the rabbit along for the pup. It bounced and skipped along slower this time, Iopah was trying to entice Silentium to latch on. Eventually he would chase live rabbits, eventually he would catch live rabbits, this was just the first step. After awhile she dropped it and beamed down at the young child. It was a much fun for her as it was for Silentium. She took a deep breath and looked back at Koda, quirking her black lined muzzle. The playful flash to her eyes was back.

"Maybe we should let Koda play? He did bring the rabbit, we might need another." She glanced down to Silentium, though she imaged Koda's gaze warming the back of her neck. It wasn't a direct question, more of a contemplative thought. It was true, eventually this rabbit would need to be replaced. Hopefully Silentium would understand the reason behind her query. Because she wasn't sure if he understood and because something was daring her to, she sashayed over to Koda. Without know what was egging her on she stepped right up to him and nudged under his chin, then drew back to throw him an ingratiating smile. "If we let you play would you bring us another rabbit?"

Koda Reinier
He was like a shadow in the background as he watched the two wolves before him engaged in play. It brought a smile to his lips knowing that Iopah had brought about a sign of trust from the pup, it was something that Koda had not done himself, and when his female friend made the rabbit dance he couldn't help expressing a chuckle. He had never seen this side of Iopah, or any adult for that matter, but it was a welcoming display that he was grateful for; without his equal, this meeting would have quickly gone sour.

Without moving he waited for the blond child to take part in the play as the scent of blood and greenery engulfed his senses--the kill was still as tantalizing as the moment he had found it. Suppressing the feeling of hunger, he watched as Iopah dragged the kill in wait for Silentium to join in, and with a raised brow he turned toward the child and wondered if eventually he would take the bait. No sooner did his gaze land on the light child did he feel Iopah beneath his chin and a feeling similar to butterflies in his gut hit him, and hard. He swallowed thick saliva at the base of his throat, likely from nervousness, and watched her with renewed interest as a warmer smile crossed the length of his lips, "I'll can give you what ever you want..." he paused, realizing that he was flirting with Iopah and immediately his gaze went to Silentium. He wondered if she caught it, how she felt about his choice of words, and wondered whether Silentium caught the charged signals he gave the second in charge. He hadn't meant to lose his cool, not in the company of a pup, and shaking his head he turned back to Iopah to clear his throat and finish his words, "I can replace the rabbit easily. First, I want to see if Silentium can catch it." he egged the child on and watched him patiently. He had to be sure that this game was in fact what he wanted to play before he would join in too.

Silentium Hervok
Thanks for the thread guys <3 just some exit posts from you now and we can archive

silence is golden
silentium hervok
silentium est aureum

Mirroring Iopah in her bow Silentium crouched down, his bottom in the air as his blonde tail waved about haphazardly. Narrowing his green eyes as she reached forward he let out a playful growl before shrieking with laughter once again as the rabbit took off. Leaping to his paws he chased after the woman and the hare, snapping his jaws whenever he thought he was close enough. Finally after several failed attempts his sharp puppy teeth sank into the flesh of the rabbit. Surprised that he had caught it at all the boy almost let go and for a moment did nothing but be dragged along across the dirt.

Coming to his senses Silentium tried to dig his claws into the earth below him, giving a few good tugs backwards. His attempts were futile of course as the grown woman was much larger and stronger, for every inch he pulled back his body skidded two forward. When Iopah put the rabbit down the green eyes stared at her for a moment confused before dropping the thing himself. Frowning for a moment as she spoke he looked back and forth between the man and the woman as conversation was exchanged. By the end though a bright smile once more adorned the blonde maw, one thing he had understood; more rabbits.

Excited by the prospect of their game continuing, but with more items to play with the pup rushed forward to the male. The game had for the moment trumped his usual timid nature and he cried, "Wu-ee go gu-et muh-ore rubbits?" Looking expectantly up towards Koda the blonde tail beat like a drum behind him. Only waiting for just a second for the answer he rushed off the way he could smell the man came from. He was going to get more rabbits.

@Koda

The bridge of her nose was tingling from the playful nudge. She wanted to wipe it with the underside of an ivory paw and see if it would go away. It wasn't unpleasant, just unexpected and curious. She pulled back and started to look up at Koda to catch his answer. Even if she'd asked it in a somewhat unconventional manner it was still an honest question and she wanted to hear the answer. He was smiling down at her and the pins-and-needles sensation faded into the background.

She returned the smile shyly, not sure what had instigated it in him. She wasn't expecting him to refuse, it was only a rabbit, one of the dozens the Woodland wolves would catch. She also wasn't expecting the extent that he would agree to. Her tail wagged, but slowly and confusedly, what else had she asked for? His tone, indulgent and encouraging, won her over and soothed the nervousness. Something prodded her to get ready to answer. His words trailed off and she straightened, wetting her lips to speak. Then his eyes drifted to Silentium and her gaze followed.

The boy was running over to them and Iopah swallowed whatever nonsensical thing she'd been about to croon to Koda. Feeling slightly disappointed she listened to Silentium, easily making sense of his heavy speech. It seemed Koda had little choice in the matter. When the pup raced away away Iopah watched after him for just a second before turning back to Koda with an amused expression, "I hope you didn't have anything else planned."

The pup was still trotting away, the huntress could hear his clumsy footfalls. He shouldn't be wandering around alone, Iopah gave a small "carry on" gesture with her muzzle and watched the two boys leave. After they'd passed out of sight she looked down at the forgotten rabbit, wondering what do with it. She didn't expect Silentium's attention to return to it. Perhaps Nina would like it? She picked up the now mangled animal to search out her alpha. Perhaps she could speak to @Nina about Silentium to see if there was anything she could do to help him.

And a quick exit from Koda, nice thread guys!
He swallowed hard a second time and released a heavy sigh of gratitude that he hadn't embarrassed himself. It was easy to tell that the agouti woman had begun to grow on him, and every opportunity he could get to speak with her he took with hopes that one day the feelings were returned. No doubt it was probably an awkward moment for someone looking in on the situation to watch him momentarily go goo-goo over the long standing second but he would not have taken it back for anything. He wanted Iopah, and eventually she would know how much.

Snapping out of his feelings, his ears perked to attention at Silentium, the child of his ex-mate with eyes matching the color of his mother, and watched him in a new light. He would protect these pups as any guardian would, but he would go a step above and attempt to give them what they no longer had, a father figure. He watched Silentium move, which was comical to say the least, and understood the eager male's excitement for the possibility of more rabbits and for once Koda didn't blame him.

It seemed the russet boy had come finally come out of his shell. He smiled with a nod of his head when jumbled words came from the males mouth but he understood it well enough--it wasn't too hard to decipher given the situation--and watched as Silentium's growing legs lead him in the direction he had come. He knew that the chances of him catching a rabbit by himself was slim, he was not ready for the hunt, but he was interested to see just what this male was determined to do and followed him for a short while longer, that is until pack duties would finally lead him away and he let the two of them meet alone; his possible future mate, and the pup he had deemed a responsibility.
