Firefly of Whitecoats
Quote: @Florence and @Vera

Firefly lead her two new friends up to the Black Thorn Downs borders. The moon was making its way up in the sky by now, but Fly paid little mind to it. It had been red for the past few nights and Fly was starting to lose interest in the phenomenon. Besides that, her focus was not wholly absorbed by the presence of her new friends and the situation that she was in at the moment. Excited to have been able to provide these nice wolves with a home and also happy to be adding to the ranks of her pack, Fly could barely keep still. She was trying to look her best though. She wanted to impress Minka and Tokino and she had a feeling they would not be impressed if she was sitting there with her tail wagging like some kind of pup. Taking a deep breathe, Fly willed her tail to lower and stay still. Then she angled her ears to listen for the approach of one of her leaders. Hoping she looked somewhat dignified, Fly tilted her head up and gave a long, high pitched howl to the odd Blood Moon. The call was meant specifically for @Tokino and @Minka and Fly hoped they would hurry. Her nerves couldn't last long and she wanted to make the best impression in front of her new friends.

"It shouldn't be long now." Fly chirped happily, throwing a quick glance back at Vera and Florence to reassure them. Fly wanted Minka to be the one to answer the call because she felt a close bond with the older she wolf. However, she figured that Tokino would be a better choice. Vera would probably react better to a male rather than a female. It didn't matter now. Fly had called them both and they would soon find out which one would show up first. Fly giggled softly to herself as she considered the possibility that @Kova might show up instead of either of his parents. The young prince knew her call and would probably be curious to see what she was up to at the border. She trusted Vera and Florence so she wouldn't mind if @Kova showed up. However, at least one of his parents were necessary as well. Nervous and excited, Fly gave her chest fur a couple quick licks while she waited on her alphas.

Florence Flint Fortibus
The pair traveled with Fly all the way to her pack’s borders, Florence glancing down at Vera every so often. He wondered what had made her want to join this pack, as most of the time they joined one not because someone asked but because they scented the markers and thought it time to join a pack for a while. Not that Florence minded much this time, being invited back to the borders by a pack member instead of what they usually did. This time at least, it would mean they had a sound place to stay for the winter this year, if the leaders accepted them.

As they drew up to the borders, the blood moon from days past still hanging in the sky above them, Fly called for her leaders and Florence wondered for a moment what they were like. From what Fly had told of them, they seemed like decent enough folk. And the pup she mentioned, Florence was curious of him too. He hadn’t seen many pups before, for any pack they had been in previously were always wary of strangers going to c.lose to them, especially Florence with his size. Even if the healer proved he was a gentle soul many times.

”We can wait for them,” Florence smiled lightly when Fly said the leaders wouldn’t be long. ”The lands look nice though, I saw plenty of herbs on our way up here so that is good.” He commented conversationally.

Tokino Lagina

Tokino rounds a hill at a fast pace. His body stretches to accommodate the males longer strides which allow his leg to slowly but surely gain its strength back. That long platinum fur waves in he fall breeze as he runs along the northwestern border. He was getting back into the groove of things, training with Bane now, doing regular patrols around the border, and occasionally checking up on his wayward children. The older Lagina male knew that once he and Minka gave the pups a bit more freedom for roaming their lands that both of them would be more tempted to venture around where they were not allowed to go.

As it was, Tokino had not caught either of his pups trails going out of blackberry fields yet. However Kino knew that it was only a matter of time. He knew about that wandering curse that plagues his Lagina family. It was a blessing and a curse, for that wanderlust meant that they would be pioneers and leaders despite the increased risks adventure brought with it. Tokino could only hope that Noble and Kova were educated enough to keep out of harms way when he didn't catch them going too far from Blackberry fields.

Suddenly Firefly's call grabs at the mid-sized gray male's attention. He circles around to head towards the call while adding his own short clipped howl back. The silvered man was impressed with the new recruit's readiness to delve into the pack's chores and hunting activities. She had been around quite often since joining Black Thorn Downs and had helped the male often. The Lagina wolf only hoped that she was here to stay.

Tokino approached the border where not only Firefly's scent struck him, but two other wolf smells mixed with hers. Immediately his gray banner rose up to crest his back while Kino's head tipped upwards in a clear showing of his health and dominance here upon his lands. His icy orbs pinned a gimlet stare on the strangers before Tokino asks, "Well, what do we have here?" His gaze flicks to Firefly with an expectant look before settling back upon Florence and Vera.

The blood red moon was slowly starting its ascent into the inky black night sky as the three wolves made their way to the Black Thorn Downs border. Fly, who was in lead of the trio, had a bounce in her step, and excitement practically rolled off of her in waves. The russet female son stilled herself and threw a call up into the sky for the leaders. Vera looked around curiously at the pack lands that soon, she and her larger companion may call home. Rolling fields of tall grasses dotted with clusters of bushes was all that could be seen. Her tail wagged. Wide open spaced areas made her feel free and able to do whatever she wanted, and she felt that maybe she could be happy within the ranks of this pack.

Fly glanced back reassuringly with a chirpy "It shouldn't be long now.", to which she nodded, brushing up against Florence's legs as she waited for someone to arrive. They didn't have to wait long as soon a large male (well, not the largest around, but certainly larger than her) sporting a mix of light and dark greys upon his pelt appeared, his tail raised up to crest upon his back and head held high. Icy blue eyes stared into hers, and she forced herself to lower her own to look upon the males' paws, also lowering her head submissively. She felt no protective urge to keep Florence far away from the male, mostly because he was a male and most likely had pups. At his voice Vera's ears twitched, but she said nothing. She wasn't good with words, well, at least kind and friendly words, so she kept silent, letting Fly and Florence speak for her unless if she was directly questioned.

Firefly of Whitecoats
Firefly smiled proudly when Florence commented on the lands. She had been out with @Lugh once and he had shown her some of the herbs around their territory so she nodded knowingly when Florence commented on them. She was about to mention some of them by name, to show-off her new-found knowledge of medicinal herbs, but her attention was diverted by the short clip of Tokino's howl. Rising to all four paws to greet her leader, Fly tried to steady her pounding heart beat by taking a deep breathe. Once the silvery alpha arrived he addressed Fly with a question before eyeing her two companions. His tail and head were raised to show his health and Fly briefly wondered if his injury was completely healed yet. Smart enough not to mention it here, she gave a quick glance back at Vera and Florence to make sure she had their permission to speak for them for the time being. Fly was relieved to see Vera somewhat relaxed and clearly not as threatened by Tokino as she had been by Fly. Fly made a mental note to ask the she wolf about that later. How could she be afraid that Fly would hurt Florence and not afraid that Tokino would?

Dragging her attention back to the matter at hand, Fly lowered her head respectfully before answering her leader. "Good evening Tokino. This is Vera." Fly used her tail to gesture at the she-wolf and then angled her tail towards Florence. "And this is Florence. I met them near Heart Leaf Creek and they were looking for a home. I brought them here to request your permission to join Black Thorn Downs." Fly now raised her eyes to briefly meet Tokino's icy blue orbs before flicking them back towards Vera and Florence. "Florence is very kind and smart. And Vera..." Fly met the woman's brown eyes and smiled. "Well Vera may look small but she is very strong and very brave." Fly hoped that Tokino and Vera both heard the sincerity in her words. If only they could teach Vera to love the pack and its territory as much as she loved Florence; then Black Thorn Downs would have a Guardian to be reckoned with, Fly mused.

As they waited for someone to show up, a small clipped howl answering Fly’s own, Florence felt Vera brush up against his leg which made him look down at her a smile reassuringly after nudging her gently. All will be well. His eyes told her before they were flickered up to look at the wolf that just arrived. His head was held high and his tail waved like a banner above his back. So this must be one of the leaders Fly spoke of, Florence thought silently, as he lowered his gaze to the ground and bowed his head to the male. When words filtered into his ears, his thoughts were proven correct when the now named Tokino asking Well, what do we have here? as Fly introduced the pair to him. He did not mind in the slightest when she did that, along with stating how they met and why they were here.

“What Fly says is true,” Florence opened his maw to speak, after waiting patiently for Fly to finish, eyes darting to look over to Fly as a small smile crossed his lips. Vera and he were going to fit in well into this pack, if all the wolves were like Fly. “We would greatly appreciate it if you would allow us to find a home within your lands and to hopefully join your family in guarding it. Vera is a capable scout in her own right and I am a healer by trade myself.” Florence was a humble wolf and hoped that by stating the jobs that both he and Vera had settled on, it would tell Tokino just how they would fit into the pack and help serve it, if they were allowed to be a part of it.

Tokino Lagina

Tokino relaxed a bit after the unknown pair of wolves lowered themselves. Though he was a little irked as Firefly spoke for them. If they want entry they should speak for themselves... However his thought was never voiced as Tokino adjusted himself to a more comfortable position. His light blue orbs still danced between them as the small russet hunter spoke for the wolves standing at the border before him. So they want entry to the pack then... He thought quietly while looking over their physiques. The gray wolf noted the experience they both had in certain subjects as the light colored male spoke up. He was pleased that the male seemed to have the guts to speak up whereas the female was quite silent. Though he wouldn't hold it against them. Approaching a pack to join was sometimes a very scary affair. Kino knew this from experience.

Well we already have two healers. So I hope you have another skill to rely on if we need another hunter or guardian to help out. Though I suppose too many healers isn't exactly a bad thing. Tokino mused out loud as his leg cracked while he stretched it. The sound reminded the older wolf that something bad could happen at any time, and that if one healer was gone herb collecting another could take their place. A guardian on the other paw is something we're a bit low on. Help with the borders would be greatly appreciated. Tokino glanced to the female who had been the one who supposedly had guarding experience. Perhaps she's the strong silent type then.. A small smile wiped across his maw as he looked over the two wolves. Then his gaze flicked to Firefly.

But... How long do you both plan on staying? I would like an honest answer from both of you. Tokino's smile was replaced by a serious expression while he turned to look back at Florence and Vera. He didn't want disloyal wolves who were going to stay for a few months and then run off for whatever reason.

I am SO sorry guys! My laptop decided to freak out on me and broke itself so I'm having it fixed. I should have it back by the seventeenth, but until then I'm using a friend's computer, to replies will be slow :c

The diminutive ivory she-wolf kept her eyes glued to Fly's russet form as she introduced the 'yin and yang' pair to the leader of Black Thorn Downs, whose name appeared to be Tokino. Interesting. She put his name to memory for later when she was in his company again as forgetting the alpha's name was embarrassing and not something she would like ever to happen. That would be far too degrading, and would most likely earn her a disapproving look from him. Not that she cared, but keeping up her appearance was high on her list. Fly addressed how she had met them, and also voiced a few key traits, which in response Vera ducked her head briefly into Florence's leg. Never before had someone praised her so, well, apart from Florence.

Her caramel brown eyes flicked to Tokino when her larger companion told him of their respective talents, him as a healer and her as a scout. She was a great scout, but she could also hunt or guard if needed to. Just because of her tiny stature most wolves thought she was useless, but when fired up she could pack a hell of a punch. Florence knew that best of all out of anyone she knew. Vera's ears twitched when Tokino spoke again, authority and dominance clearly heard, and she didn't dare challenge it in any way. It was more for Florence's sake than hers, but maybe, just maybe, she could be happy among the wolves of Black Thorn Downs. Her eyes widened slightly when the male looked at her after voicing the pack's need for guardians, and bit back what she was going to say. Her? He thought that she could be a good guardian? Feeling an unknown burst of pleasure within her, a shy smile emerged on her face. "Florence and I plan on staying long-term, sir," Vera said, glancing up briefly at Tokino's face. "We have travelled for a long time from a place far away, and have been searching for a place to call home. If you would let us join your pack, we would both pledge our allegiance to you and everyone else and do our best to help in any way we can." It was the most she had said in one go for a while, and each word was laced with sincerity. She meant all of it, and hopefully Tokino knew that too.

Firefly of Whitecoats

Fly listened attentively as Florence told Tokino about his and Vera's talents. She was excited and felt like everything was going well until Tokino said something about already having two healers. Fly didnt know if Florence knew how or even wanted to do anything besides healing and Fly began to wonder nervously if that would ruin everything. Luckily, Tokino conceded that a pack could never have too many healers and Fly gave a quick nod in agreement. Things went much smoother in regards to Vera; Tokino seemed pleased to have another Guardian and didnt seem deterred by her size. Fly could tell that Vera was pleased about that and Fly's black lips pulled back in a small smile. It seemed that everything was going well now. Florence could be a healer as he wanted, Vera could be a Guardian like she wanted, and both of them would now have a home. Fly's heart felt warm, happy that she had accomplished this and brought happiness to others. It made her feel good to be able to provide a home for others as well as bring wolves into her pack to make it stronger. It was a win/win.

Fly's happiness only grew when Vera stated that she and Florence were looking to stay in Black Thorn Downs long term. She had not thought to ask them that, but she was glad to hear there answer. Then, the corner's of Fly's lips pulled down in a frown as she realized something. She would not be staying here so long. She had to leave after winter to find her mom and brother. What kind of daughter or sister would she be if she never looked for them? Of course, now she had the excuse of winter to make herself feel like it was okay to not go looking for them, but what about once winter was over? She would have to leave.

With a deep breathe, Fly let go of these worries for now. This moment was about Vera and Florence. With that Fly waited patiently to hear Tokino's response.
