Any wolves from SMP are allowed c: @Aesire, maybe?
NOTE: Dated forward two days to 17th of December

He could scent the thick, pungent aroma of a pack nearby, and though he came within fifty meters of the border, the Psychopathic Flirt didn't cross over it or make any movement towards or away from it. Standing there for a few moments, he inhaled deeply, breathing in the pack musk, goldenrod eyes scanning the evergreen pines for any sign of life or movement. He needed to join a pack for the winter, but before he made his choice he wanted to know if there was at least one wolf that he could be around without wanting to disappear off into the wilderness. If the pack was small, that would be nice too, the best, actually. He hated being in large packs where there was no chance of having any sort of privacy. "I don't like being outnumbered in a pack, it makes for too much stupid around me," he muttered under his breath to himself as he began to pad at an even trot horizontal to the border. He didn't want to get too close to the pack border, but he did want to meet one of the pack members so he could figure out if it was the pack he wanted to join.

Aspen's thoughts drifted to a small pack that he had been forced to join the previous year because of the harshness of the winter, or he would have died from exposure, exhaustion or starvation. He knew that he wouldn't have been able to cause any trouble within the ranks or face being kicked out, but he had been too busy making sure he survived to worry about that. Hopefully this winter wouldn't be the same as the last, though he did enjoy watching the wolves fret about whether they would be able to find prey or not. It had been fascinating, and he had learned so much about how wolves responded in a crisis. "Oh how I love to watch them dance," he said maliciously, a vicious smirk appearing on his face.

As promised - one so not coherent post

Diligent as ever the queen would move forward as she rounded the final parts of the borders expecting to find what she normally found: barren lands that lacked wolves who sought to join the pack or wolves who sought to harm the pack. With winter's winds settling in, Aesire was preparing herself for the harsh terms to come. She noticed a wolf off in the distance and her instincts started to kick in. Her tail raised to dangerous levels above herself as she hissed at the man in a challenge type of way. What did he want? What was he doing there? With the winter on her doorstep, it was too close. "Who are you and what do you want?" She demanded to know the answer as she bared to teeth.

Part of her considered calling for Ace or Phineas despite the fact that the man was far from the borders by nearly fifty meters. She'd scare the shit out of him for no reason because she felt in danger when wolves stayed so far back but did not move as they looked upon the borders. It was moves like that which creeped her out and if there was one thing she hated being it was creeped out. Her eyes fell into focus as she stopped a few feet away from him where she held her agitated stance. As a leader nearly on the borders to her own pack, she felt the right to be dominant and demand submission with her stances and words. "What are you doing here?"

It was not long before a wolf as large as himself, though a female, appeared round the corner of the rocky mountain foothills. She sported an earthy coat; ebony, russet and crème colours cascading and mixing all into one grey-ish tone, with emerald green eyes set into a determined face. He noticed that the moment her vibrant green eyes landed on him her tail raised, the tip curling over her charcoal coloured back, and baring her teeth in a silent snarl, a hiss escaping from her clenched jaws. Brows raising slowly and meticulously, Aspen stared openly at the earthy hued female who was clearly taking his presence as infringement in her territory. Clearly the alpha, and a suspicious one at that. Maybe she could just feel the psychopathic vibe he gave off more than others, it did make some wolves feel the need to get away from him.

Staring silently at the earthy hued female for a few moments after she spoke, his goldenrod examining every inch of her, he finally ever so slightly bowed his head in greeting, though he made no move to lower his posture into one of submission. He wasn't on her territory, so she had no hold over him. Now if he crossed over the border, however, it would be a different game. "Aspen Whitlock," he said in a cheery and light tone, as if he didn't notice her aggressive posturing at all. "I'm here looking for a suitable pack to join, but I wished to scout out the few in this region so I would make the correct decision." Though his voice had previously been pretty neutral, he now grinned devilishly and spoke in a lower, more dangerous tone. "Nothing is set in stone, is it?"

Aestyn Lunx
The cold taunted her without relent
causing her to desire movement to warm her bones.

Aestyn was drifting the length of the outskirts
of the kingdom she belonged to.
Meandering more so than on a mission.
Curious aqua time capsules kept lowered
to the snow swathed floor.
The heavily packed snow crunched beneath her
as she moved onward making zig zags in the flurry.
She’d never saw this side of the plateau
and she had decided to take the chance to survey
the edge of the terra she called home.
Nostrils flared as her snout snapped to attention
drawing her muzzle up towards the heavens.
First, a strange aroma filled her nasal cavity
only to be followed by memorable perfume.
Silver mixed audials swiveled quickly as she
listened closely for voices.
Aestyn allowed her tempo to pick up
as she felt unnerved.
Perhaps the queen was in some kind of trouble?
Aestyn felt duty bound to check in on
the strange aroma of another lupine.
Quick dance like steps carried her painted
carcass swift like over the snowy conduit.

After breaching through a duo of pass ways
she instantly locked eyes unto @Aesire
and a large dapper gold stranger.
Hackles rose along her straight spine,
as her caged ivories bore slightly.
Concluding the distance between herself
and the two she spoke up
“Aesire, is this fellow causing a nuisance?”
she said as she looked at the brute
letting her words be articulated with spirit.
She stood next to Aesire glaring at the intruder.
What was it that he wanted?
His outward appearance showed nothing but arrogance.
She resisted a chuckle knowing it was neither
the time nor place.
He kind of reminded her of herself, very vaguely.
Perhaps that was more the cause
for the fortunately resisted chuckle?

At this point, she had realized (slowly but surely) that she had been irrational to charge at a man like that with little reason to. She would have used her backup reasoning if he had not said something that made her fur along her spine tingle and shake. "Nothing is set in stone, is it?" She bit back her retort until she heard Aestyn's voice enter the scene and soon the form of her second-in-command would come into play. "Dangerous words for a loner to say to a queen." She challenged back as she gave a small nod to Aestyn in order to answer her question. "You are too close to our borders, especially with such a challenge as that." Her eyes locked with his. She meant business.

Her canines were showing in their glory of a yellow form as she let out a soft snarl. She had overreacted when she first met this wolf and it was too late to take any of it back, especially with the beta woman right beside her with an agitated look. Sometimes a short distance from the border was too close for Aes and today was that day. Aspen would just have to deal with this fact. She looked ready to attack in every way but she needed a true trigger to take actions as drastic as that. There was a fierce glint in her eyes that gave him the 'fight me and you are dead' look. If worse came to worse, she would prove her dominance through a fight and force him to leave. Wow Aes, eat a snickers, you turn into Moriarty when you're hungry.

@Aestyn and @Aesire

Aspen gave the earthy hued female a sly wink after he spoke. He liked her spunk, how she could show that she was the one higher up and proud of it. In most cases, it would have irritated him that a wolf such as her had done exactly that, but because it was her, he was amused, and even slightly curious. Sometimes in life, it was good to play with the ones that didn't just roll over and do whatever he said, but stood up for themselves and fought back. Having interesting players in the game was what made the game interesting. His goldenrod gaze shifted from the bristling female as another appeared, this one cloaked in shades of silvers, whites and charcoals. Her hackles were also raised, lips pulling back to show the tips of her ivory fangs. Was this pack made up of nothing but offset and easily angered females? If so, he was having none of it.

However, as she spoke, the Psychopathic Flirt had to hold back a snigger at her words. His shoulders shook slightly with the force of his silent laughter, eyes crinkling in the corners in humour. Oh, how right she was. Causing a nuisance was one of the things he was best at. Shifting his powerful gaze back to Aesire, Aspen's lips twitched up in a feral smile, one that spoke volumes of what he would do if he chose. Dangerous words only came from a dangerous man, and he was exactly that. A predator prowling the lands for his prey, in constant search of distractions. He was a monster. Widening his eyes in mock apology, he rolled his shoulders, grinning at the two females. It didn't matter that there were two of them and one of him, he could face losing with pride. It was all just part of the game. "What challenge do you speak of, my dear? I was merely speaking my mind. If you don't like what I think of you, your friend and your pack... then why don't you chase me off? Hmm?" His tone was teasing, full of dark humour, disobedience, child like, and comprised fully of Machiavellian actions.

He wanted her to play the game.

@Aesire & @Aspen
The all too familiar mocking tones tantalized the airwaves.

Heavily sardonic gesticulations were all too evident from the stranger.

He was attempting to make his points clear.

Aestyn could quickly read through it; quite easily actually.

She was finding them to be similar in some ways.

Although, Aestyn had learned very quickly

As she joined the pack life to bite her tongue.

Though, her thoughts and opinions had free reign internally.

Perhaps, soon when Aestyn would take the throne from Aesire

She would be more capable and free to say what she was really thinking.

Without, being as judged as she would be now.

Breaking away from her fleeting thoughts

She acknowledged Aesire’s mere nod.

A nod was all that she could spare?

Not even a simple yes or no?...

Glints of aggravation split through her expression.

Stabbing aqua orbits hardened as she casted a glare to Aesire.

Recurring her gaze back to the golden draped brute she let her tension reside.

Obviously, Aesire thought could lever this situation; on her own.

Aestyn shifted her bared ivories into a smug smirk at the man.

He had quite the witty and swift to speak personality, as she did.

Though, she did not articulate this round about she listened amused with

The quandary Aesire had found herself in.

This was now a big game one that she knew how to play and clearly

The golden blessed stranger was well played in as well.

Now to see how the Queen would play her cards.

The smug little smirk stayed planted on her façade

As she sat back and waited for the unfolding show.

Aesire could feel the glare at her from the Second of the pack but Aes did not have time to deal with the idea of insubordination that she saw from the man. She would just prove her strength right then and there. She snarled, lunging forward towards Aspen as she snapped her jaws in a threatening manner. She would aim to get a heavy grip on his shoulder and shake to tear it up and make it bleed. She was going to prove to this man and to her own subordinate that she was not to be trifled with. Her nose flared as her eyes narrowed. She hoped to land her mark with grace and speed as the regal queen had set forth to do.

In the back of her mind she had known that she would never hold Aestyn's support or loyalty because the girl wanted the rank of queen and all the privileges that came with it to herself. The fact was that this was a sign of discord and chaos in front of a loner. Wolves not listening to their queen signified a weak rule and that was something that could not be accepted. With the tension she noted with some of the local packs, she could not afford to look weak. In fact, none of them could. If Aestyn wanted to be queen, she had to prove to Aesire that she deserved it first. The snarl ripped through the silence of the air. She would not back down from the laws and her moral code.
