stay for a while

It was so easy to lean into him as he nuzzled his face to her neck. His warmth seeped into her skin, the scent of him washing over her like the current of a slowly winding creek. It smelled like the forest, like damp earth and evergreen and that subtle hint of all that was only Rook. Quil was utterly intoxicated by it in a way she'd never quite been before and it made her feel as if she would float away, weightless.

"Tonight, I'd like you to take the lead."

She was content to follow in his path, down whatever direction he so chose to take on any given day. Hell, she'd followed him this far, to this place in their lives where the road she was on and the road he was on had suddenly converged. For him, she'd do anything ─ and she knew in her heart that he would do the same. Perhaps it was that conviction that made her feel so invincible. Perhaps it was that conviction that would make them invincible.

To his gesture, she offered no words. There weren't any that would convey all that she felt and all that she meant; instead, her actions spoke for her. Quil moved slowly, sliding the length of her body against his own. She circled him then, rounding her way to his other side where she made to sidle up closer, leaning into Rook's form once again and stretching her neck to lick his chin affectionately. Now her heart raced and she felt so hot that it seemed as if the snow around the two of them might melt away. A low whine escaped her throat and she did what instinct and her heart urged her to. Belly on the ground at the Lyall's paws, the girl's eyes begged it of him.

Make it so. Make me yours.
