Broken Thorns

They had decided to play had they? If the Downs wanted to play war, they would get their wish. The neighboring pack had tried Secret Woodlands one too many times. Invading their territory? Marking it as their own? Disrespecting Nina? It had been too much for the guardian. His anger, for once, had been too great. Who were these lowlives to invade their home? Well, it was time for payback. War had consumed him, promised him his revenge if he would only embrace the simmering anger. Embrace it, feed it, and let it go. He could still hear the tempting whispers in his ear. The promise that if he did this, the Downs would no longer prove to be a problem. Ever. So the bulky male accepted the quest. Accepted the promises. War had gone to Cut Rock River, the ally of the Downs that Nina had informed him of their whereabouts. It had taken no time to strip them of their false physical security. Using the cover of the night, the dark man had slipped into their lands, proceeding to practically douse himself in their woodsy scent. It was revolting, but it was necessary. Now heading back to his original target, he used once again the cover of darkness to slip into Black Thorn Downs borders, leaving the scent of the River wolves as he destroyed pack caches and did what destruction he could do in the limited time he had. As he reveled in the attack, War could only wish he could see their faces. Oh, how surprised they would be! The ones who they had once called friends were really their enemies. Alas, he could not. Silently slipping out from pack lands, the man left destruction in his wake. Broken thorns and trampled bushes heavy with the scent of the King and Queen of the River. Trekking back home, the once boiling anger was at a simmer. For now. When the Woodlands were done with them, all the Downs would be was a pile of  broken thorns. How fitting. " ”Speech”
