Maksim Baranski

The seed was planted in the Cavern dweller's territory. Now, it had to be planted here.

War stood silent, His eerie form shrouded by the dank, stinking mists that were seeping from the ground below and the skies above. He spat up a laugh and bile churned in his stomach, threatened to spill past his lips and splatter to the ground. Some semblance of an internal struggle that was quickly quelled by the fiend who had claimed the River king's body as a vessel. A swaying step was taken by the beast before he silently crossed the border, his scent screaming "Whisper Caverns". Oh, he was such a clever thing! A handsome, clever, destructive thing!

He rolled around, almost childishly, covering His body in dirt and dust. Whilst they were distracted with their little gift from the "Ridge wolves", no doubt confused and concerned, War busied himself by claiming their scent on His body. A distraction and also part of the plan! Even Death would be impressed by such an impressive display of intelligence, the sneering little bastard. Heaving himself up from the ground, he let out a wheezing snicker before he scuttled off. It was time for the great giver of gifts to visit his second target.

Onward he swaggered, brushing the stink of the Cavern rats on the trees that dotted the territory. The power of the Ridge wolves far outweighed the meagre little slithers of Ash Hervok and his followers--He could smell it in the foul air. He smeared himself across the bark of whatever flora seemed most heavily scented, dragged his filthy, charcoal claws across bark, mangling the skin of the trees all around. He had already done so today. He was simply busying himself with the task of making it more noticeable, and insulting.

Once satisfied, the nasty brute made sure to finalise the gift. A cache, all by its lonesome, with a tasty looking meal within. Digging the corpse up, his eyes lighting up with a sneer, War quickly set about devouring the fat hare, bones and all crushed between his powerful jaws. Somewhere inside, Maksim was fighting the insanity that had wrapped itself around his mind. But it was a losing battle and each time he was knocked back. Licking his lips free of blood and hair (and hare), War twisted away and, with a final scoff, trotted off. He would leave the wolves of Willow Ridge to find this themselves--no need to call on such diligently watched borders.

There was a pleasant pull in her muscles, tried and tested in a new way she had learned to enjoy the dull ache long ago. It would make her stronger in the end, but being a little bit sore after her scuffle with her aunt was no excuse to laze about like that parasite Xetor. No, the princess of Willow Ridge had a job to do and so she busied herself with a leisurely stroll about the borders. It didn’t take long for the wrongness to be made apparent. Her steps grew stiffer as it all sunk in, the hair along the length of her spine coming to stand in savage spikes as her teeth clicked together in anger. Her tongue passed over her nose to better taste and scent the air. She knew this stink, and the absence of one of its original bearers had not gone unnoticed by the ginger flecked Archer.

Thorben. She inwardly cursed the name. His family would pay for this disrespect, and if she ever saw him again, he too would pay the price. She tipped her head back to raise the alarm, calling on @Elettra and @Angier, @Renier, @Skoll and @Piety. She called on her aunt and uncle, @Adele and @Nicolò. She could only expect that all would heed her call, and then she waited to see what would be said, her restless pacing and clicking teeth almost reminiscent of one of Skoll’s temper tantrum. She wouldn’t be held back from delivering retribution, and could only expect the rest of the pack to be as enraged as she currently felt.

There is a moose carcass that has been scavenged by coyotes nearby. The coyotes are on the ground not far from it.

Don't mind Nari and @Deacon trailing after War
This is obviously after that WC pack meeting where they find the scents of El and Angier. Also after Nari bumps into Celandine (in fact I think that's when Maksim/war got past her and hurried here firstly to cause trouble)

That little pit stop had helped to quell some of the anger broiling within Narime. She was more calm now, and her head was a little more clear. She had the time to think about what the cavern wolves had found at their borders, and she had time to plan as the woman traveled to Elettra's lands. Deacon might be their saving grace. His being there to see the willow bark and smell his parents would help ensure that her word could be trusted. When Nari tells Elettra what she had found the dark willow wolf might not think she was lying. Though Nari trusted that the queen wouldn't jump to conclusions. Their bonds were too solid for that to happen. At least that's what she thought at first.

Now as Nari stood over the border she felt a bad feeling twisting in her gut. She heard the howl of another wolf deeper within the territory. It seemed very urgent, and it called for some of the same wolves that Nari needed. She hoped Deacon would arrive soon, and that the only willow wolf she would meet was lady Elettra. For if any other wolf found her first there was a chance that trouble would ensue.

Laying her head back and inhaling, Nari then forced a powerful howl through the air over and through the willows. It was a call specifically for @Angier and @Elettra, but Nar was sure others would arrive soon after she finished to check her out. The gray woman had no clue what lie across their borders, or that somebody had spread the same trickery across the willow trees that had been used in her own packs territory. The bad feeling that creeped through her gut intensified as the cruel mists swhirled around her gray figure cloaking the Lagina for a moment before dissipating once again. She lowers her muzzle now finished with her call then waits. Nari knew that she would be answered sooner or later, she just hoped that Deacon would get there soon. Even if he was just a pup his words would prove useful here.

will send you a PM in a sec TABs :)

bang bang, i shot you down

Normally a call for her mother would be met with a little more decorum than the almost adult was now showing. She had worked herself into such a rage that drool hung from the corner of her mouth as the growl in her chest grew louder with the seconds her call went unanswered. It was another who answered her howl, an unwelcome one that only reinforced the crime committed, and as her ears tilted to catch the direction from which the traitors song was sung the girl saw red.

Her tail arched high like a war banner over her back trusting that if anyone was coming at all they would be diverted by the summoning of the other wolf much as they had been when Rook came snooping about. Her steps were swift and stiff, her lips lifting to expose hungry fangs as her paws beat their own tune against the muddy earth. She could wait for Elettra or Angier to make their presence known but the evidence was damning and her mother had little tolerance for fools.

It was clear from the slap of paws in mud that she was gaining speed, the crack and shake of bushes being trampled or pushed aside the only warning provided as she barrelled towards her opponent. Foam was beginning to form at the corner of her mouth and her eyes blazed with an angry fire. She would make this wolf pay for the disrespect they had shown.

As if she were possessed, the younger wolf charged the familiar, if somewhat anxious wolf, her jaws opening and hoping to find purchase on a shoulder or her leg. If that failed she could only hope the weight of her charge might get the other moving, away from her mothers domain.
