Namid Vuesain

It hurt Namid to have had to do such a thing to her friend, but her actions in the situation had been wrong and a simple verbal reprimand was what had to be given. She had made the pact when she’d had the pups that she would no longer allow anyone to walk over her, that she would be strong for them and be the proper leader that Fallen Tree Cove needed. This was a situation that was to show that in her, and if that meant she had to assert her position over Desideria then so be it.

It seemed that her growl had caught not only the attention of her subordinate, but the attention of young Noble as well. Her dull golden gaze stared after the tawny woman as she retreated to her side in shock, her ears falling back to her skull. She gazed at her skeptically, eyes trailing to the beta before back to her in disbelief. She knew what was coming next, could see the decision in the eyes of the youth. She could have cursed if she’d had time, but the starving girl was flashing past them with a speed that didn’t quite match her current state. A growl broke through her maw once again as she herself was up in a flash, darting after the girl and uttering a bark of command for her subordinates to do the same. The order was simple: Get her out. She raced after the girl, dodging around trees and land she knew so well. Her head snaked out to nip at the streaming tail of the female, herding her toward the border with the others likely close on her heels.

Anthem ColdHeart
Namid's growl echoed in his ears and though it wasn't directed at him he ducked his head a little. He hadn't heard her growl or snarl at anyone other than maybe himself and that had been when they had first meet but since then it had mostly been laughter. He watched as Des cowered and whined while taking a step away from the dark girl who stood next to her. She didn't seem to know what to do as her friend left her and her expression changed to one that wasn't sure if the outcome from this encounter could be turned into a good one. She had been the one to slink across their borders and he didn't have any desire to sympathize with her even as Namid spoke of safety. He found the look she gave him darkly amusing and his lips lifted baring sharp fangs in silent threat if she didn't comply.

Anthem saw her expression change and then she was speaking the rabbit falling forgotten to the ground. Noble charged towards Des and he found himself snarling again. Then Namid let out a sharp command he was moving. A spring that had finally snapped he raced forward after the two females not waiting to see if Des would follow or if she was alright from the brush with Noble. No he was intent on going after the dark girl's fleeing form. He wasn't quite as fast as the smaller female but the terrain was in his favor so he managed to catch up. His large form appeared to next to Namid's so that he could snap at Noble's heels. He intended to not only chase the girl from the Cove's territory but beyond that. He was going to make sure that she understood she wasn't welcome here and if he managed to catch her there was a very high chance he was going to take it out on her hide.
I am the Anthem we sing,

My sister the Angele we follow,

Desideria Barreda
It all happened so quickly, it was a veritable whirlwind.  On her belly, the female whined, gaze alternating between her pair of friends.  She was motionless, cowering – there was no way to win in this situation!  Help Noble, and she'd no doubt aggravate Namid, perhaps even to the point of being run out of the pack she'd quickly come to love.  Leave Noble to her own devices, and it would probably ruin their friendship.  While she didn't think her alpha would harm the female, not too much, but Anthem?  She never knew quite how to read the enigmatic beta.

And then, all at once, Noble rushed her.  Utterly startled, the rogue froze in her place.  She wasn't a fighter!  Even if the yearling hadn't been her friend prior to this encounter, nothing about the timber wolf desired any sort of physical confrontation.  Even training for scuffles was almost too much – she certainly didn't feel ready to actually come to blows.  Isn't that why they had a guardian?

Sending Anthem a panicked look, Desideria barely had time to breath before the vagrant made her move.  Thinking a collision was imminent, the older wolf scrambled to her feet, but which way to jump?  Her frenzy was obvious in her eyes as she stumbled over her own legs, entire body shaking as Noble swept by, and the other two wolves wheeled and lunged after her.  The rogue was not eager to follow, frozen to her place as she stared after the alpha and beta – perhaps…perhaps she wasn't as cut out for pack life as she thought.

Exit Des.

I think one more round from the Cove wolves should wrap this up? Thank you everybody! also, I tossed in a vague detail about the edge of their borders, was it ok? I can change if it doesn't jibe.

It was far better to be moving than trapped like a bug under their gazes. At least now, there was something to funnel all the anxiety and fear into. No more second-guessing or wondering at motives. It was simple now. She had to escape. She had to get away from these Fallen Tree Cove wolves.

Slender black legs ripped at the foliage as Noble tore through the evergreen forest. Whatever commotion she'd caused must have been slight; they were already after her. She could the crash of their footfalls behind her. Fear was an excellent motivator. Noble was nothing but a heaving and panting streak of black fur. The Cove wolves had the advantage of familiarity with their evergreen forest. Noble turned a white-rimmed eye to the side when a growl threatened from just behind. She would have snarled back if she hadn't needed the breath for running. So much for not being harmed unless I attack, Noble thought bitterly... not that she had really believed it anyways. It didn't matter anyways, not anymore: she was almost free. Noble could see the Mountain of Dire looming overhead now. She had spent all of the previous day studying the borders and knew exactly where they ended.

Three strides and one burning lung-full of air later, Noble was flying over the border. She slowed for a moment, just long enough to turn and glance over her shoulder. A garbled snarl was voiced at the sight of the male continuing his chase. Blunt toes dug into muddy earth as Noble scrambled farther into the forest. She didn't slow again, even long after Anthem was no longer heard. She raced headlong into the first stream she found and stood, panting and shaking, while the water washed her scent trail away.

Namid Vuesain

Anthem appeared at her side, his bulk comforting her as they darted after the surprisingly quick yearling. Truly, she wished it hadn’t had to come to this. She didn’t want to have to drive the poor girl away, but she had no other choice in the matter. She had given her an ultimatum, and she had chosen to foolishly ignore it. That was on her, and as the queen of the cove it was her duty to enforce it. How ironic, she thought, that she had changed so much in just the course of a year. A year before if someone had told her she’d ben joining a pack she would have scoffed, and now she was the leader of one and with children no less! If only her family could see her now.

As they neared the border, Namid began to slow her pace. She wouldn’t be chasing her further than that, but it seemed that their guardian had other ideas. He chased her straight over the border and beyond, and she might have told him to stop but…she didn’t. She allowed the man to give chase, burning the poor girl into the ground. He was simply doing his job, and that didn’t a lot him a reprimand. She wasn’t sure she could ever reprimand the man, but Desideria on the other hand. She looked around, finding the scout-in-training had not given chase as well. A frown tugged at the corners of her lips at this, and she gave a sigh. Things had just seemed to get more complicated. Turning she headed back to pick up the rabbit, moving to the birthing den. For that moment, all she wanted to do was be with her children again. They would get rid of the troubling thoughts that plagued her mind for sure.
