Triell Tainn
ooc; fine with me siki. feel free to do :)
His aim was true, but the young lad was learning Marsh was quick. His jaws clamped together over empty air. The cramy muzzle of the vetran, his target in a blink touching the side of his face. With the touch came a wetness of the male's fondness. Playful growlings tugging at the boy's ears. Own instincts he tried to duck out of it, he was already to late so when Marsh was jumping back the young Tainn was also. His black banner hovered above him playfully, giving a high pitched bark in return to Marsh's. Already he did not know much of this male, but he was yet again happy for a new member of Swift River. Liking him to a point. Triell had to remember Indru's approval came with every acceptence. In this he did relax, and was able to concentrate on the game they were playing. Knowing his brother must have liked this male as well.

For while the two did the dance of Triell trying to grab Marsh, and all the while Marsh dodgeing his attempts. It did awaken a new sense of fighting in the boy. How to do things different, what worked, and what didn't. He was on this new alertness. He soon was starting to get a little winded. His tongue hung from the side of his cheek, and he stood panting, trying to catch his breath for a moment. All the while his orange eyes attentive for the unexpected. There hadn't been an official time out.

It was not surprising that Triell found their game exhausting, but such was the way of training. For his part, Marsh was beginning to feel a little exerted, but he was not having to think and act as much as the young Tainn; it was an easier job to let himself fall into instinct. He could predict action and twitch away with less effort than it took to plan a new assault and carry it through, only to be deflected. Marsh knew it could be a heartless type of fun.

Eventually, Triell drew back, practically demanding time to recover. Though so tuned in to the act of avoiding the boy, it took only a moment for his mind to switch gear. Triell could have his moment of respite, but the game would not pause without conclusion; tail wagging once, the older wolf dropped to his elbows and bounced back up, intending to shove Triell onto his side by sheer force and stand over him as the victor. Stamina was as vital an aspect of the game as any other; Triell would learn the consequence of finding oneself lacking as compared to one's opponent.

Sides rose and fell as his oxygen came out in huge puffs. A couple more he already was much better, and he was about to take a dive at Marsh. Surprise him, he had hoped. The tables were turned on him. The chestnut male was quick to come upon him in his pausing moment. It did not take much for the black lad to fall onto his side. His elbow ticked into the ground, and he tried to push off it but Marsh towered over him. Triell was stunned by the size, the force, but Marsh had to pack a punch, he was no little fellow. Knowing he was defeated, his ears pressed against his head, and his tail curled between his legs. This was a game, but he could not help his instincts of surrender.

However, his tail started wagging, and he gave a low woof after a minute. "You win," he coughed, struggling to get to his legs. He didn't care for being on the ground, and this lesson would surely remind him of that fact whenever he sparred again. And in the back of his mind he wondered if Marsh would let him up, or if Triell would have to fight to remove him.

Point made, and made well, Marsh did not linger once Triell had been toppled. Before pulling back, he placed his jaws gently over the boy's in a sign of control and victory, just reminding him of the consequences of losing a conflict like this in more serious situations. He did not pretend to mind his authority for much longer, though, a good-natured rumble in his chest as he gave the boy plenty of space to get up. He could have his rest, and, if he was so inclined, they could continue; Marsh felt content helping his packmate out in such a way, and did wonder if it would become a more regular occurrence. It would surely help Swift River to become a more formidable force if they kept their wits sharp, and if they grew to know each others' strengths and weaknesses better.

His jaw fell open as his sides rose and fell with gentle panting, and the wolf found himself quite thirsty. Licking his lips and testing his mouth for moisture, he turned to the nearby, ever-present sound of water for a moment before glancing back at Triell expectantly. No doubt they would both be better for a drink.

.The auburn male held Triell's jaws, and the boy did not have a single motion to move. He understood that sign, it was one thing from his early days hew knew. Again he was reminded how he never wanted to be the loser, what he might do to prevent that. He doubted he would outbest Marsh if ever. No matter what his praxis would be. Easy rumble rolled forth, and Triell took his oppertunity to stand to his feet. Soft, friendly bark called out his appreciation. His tail beating the air a few times as his pink tongue held out to better cool himself. It was the warmer temperature causing his discomfort for he his breath was caught, but panting was the way to rid of heat.

He noticed Marsh's look, and smiled briefly giving a small nod of his head. A drink sounded nice, in fact Triell was thinking he'd step into the river. Large paws carried him closer to the river, and his orange eyes carefully shifted along it's coars. It was Swift River for a reason, and seemed much larger with the melting snow. Carefully he descended down the bank where the water was calmer because of a the earth. His steps were cautious as he entered the water, but it only came to his ankles. He looked back to his companion before he lowered his head for his cold drink.

It was all really quite companionable, and Marsh felt satisfied with the relationship he and the boy had managed to forge. With luck, they would continue in such a friendly, mutually understanding way. When they departed to the river, Triell lowered his paws into the water with very little hesitation; Marsh supposed to came from a lifetime of living alongside such a feature. Having not missed the glance, the older wolf chose to join the lad, heavily dropping down the small bank and into the waters with a splash.

Obviously, he was not all-graceful, and Marsh laughed at himself as he lapped his tongue at the cooling waters, stood elbow-deep in the river. The sensation was pleasantly chill down his throat, but what felt best were the water droplets that clung to his chest furs and were delightfully icy. The boy had been more tired than he, and thus probably just as overheated. An idea danced through his mind as he quietly drank, his eyes flitting up to Triell full of mischief.

Momentarily halting his breathing, Marsh turned his head towards Triell and dipped a few inches of his muzzle into the water, trying to be nonchalant - but that was ruined when he tossed his head upwards, creating a thin arc of water and drizzle of droplets intended for Triell.

The cold water trickled down his throat, soothing away the burn from sucking in air from his mouth's point. He could have drank more, but didn' want a belly ache and stopped. His ears had told him Marsh had entered the water as well, and a short look was given to the elder wolf. He was a little surprised to see him there, after encountering a female scared of water. It would be weird to see the large auburn male scared of such a thing. He did live in Swift River and one had to go through water one way or another to enter the lands.

A bleak smile brusehd his lips, and he lapped up a few more cups of water. He had not seen the eyes full of idea. He was enjoying the cold water on his feet, and almost wishing the sun wasn't soaking into his black coat when he caught a face full of water. He insantly jerked back out of instinct as the cold drops fell against his skin. All the same it felt so good to where the sun was blazing down. Grinning back, he took a step closer, the water a little deeper and lifted a paw brushing it forcefully atop the water in Marsh's direction.
