Rook Lyall

"I'd rather say not," Veho's voice came upon slicked back ears. The latter statement made them return to their previous positions, neutral and somewhat relaxed at an angle at the top of his skull. The youth said nothing more and, in the stretch of quietude, there came another kiss. One that had been returned... If Rook's heart was not drumming up a frantic beat now, it certainly was by the moment that Veho mentioned about meeting the family. Of all the names and faces that could have come to mind - Borden's or Jaysyek's or even Ryvet's - it was Quil's that emerged first. In his head she stared at him with that all too familiar gaze that was filled with longing and an ache he felt that he could not soothe.

He gulped down the lump in his throat, inwardly flustered that the idea of introducing this wandering rogue was now something he could easily postpone when before he was all for thrusting Veho into the arms of his parents, his siblings (biological or in-law), and his mate. When he spoke again, his tone had quieted even further and he faced his friend to lightly bump noses one last time.

Ever so slowly, he shifted his weight from one elbow to the other, drawing back and facing forward once more. "Of course. When you're feeling a bit better and whenever you're ready." The smallest of smiles formed on his muzzle then, obviously genuine as it softened his eyes and prompted him to sigh - a sign that he was merely seconds away from delving into an array of thoughts and schemes. Everything would be all right, he silently comforted himself, pulling his pale pink tongue down the front of his nose. No one would have to know... "As I said before, we would love to have you."

(Rook fade.)

Chances are I have a BEN WHISHAW gif for that.

Veho Macieo
"Yes. When I'm feeling a bit better," he agreed, having no desire to explain to anyone else just what ailed him. Clarifying his intent to a companion was one thing. Trying to illustrate the situation to wolves he'd never met, wolves he sought to impress, was another matter entirely. This was too important to tempt fate with his own foolishness. As Rook said, it was best to allow the effect of the mushroom to take its course and give himself a few days to recover properly before he sought to address the pair of alphas. Only the best of first impressions would do. If he was going to ask to join the Grizzly Hollow pack, he would damn well give his best effort.

Settling down for a nap, the male rested his chin back upon his forelimbs, quite comfortable where he remained nestled against the other wolf. Now that he had a moment to think about it, he felt much less ill than he had when Gaheris had appeared. Misery really did love company, he thought with a wry smile, something other than the pain to actually focus upon. The fever had abated some, and his gut was no longer twisting itself into knots.

Was he cured? No, not at all. But he was in a much better place than he was, and he opened one eye to address the younger wolf. "Thank you," he rumbled, trying to swallow a yawn, "for the company. It was…helpful. Much needed." The words were scarcely out of his muzzle as his eye slid shut again, and Veho allowed himself to slip from the edges of consciousness.
