Secluded Spring Take These Broken Wings

The ragged male pledged his loyalty to the white king and tawny queen, but it seemed that both the alphas weren't worried about it at the moment. They both told him not to worry about such a thing in his condition. He was about to open his maw to protest but then Nauja placed a lick to his crown. She smiled and told him that she had told him he had nothing to worry about. His charcoal ears splayed to the side as he watched her dark form run off to the infirmary with the queen. His attention was drawn from the women when the white male moved towards him.

Emrys moved around the Kersey man surveying his injuries. The sea wolf was told that he can show his loyalty when he was better and was asked if he knew the severity of his condition. Of course he was, Nauja had brought him back from the brink of death. "Yes sir" Tyne responded weakly to both knowing of how bad he was and that he must do his part as well. As much he would have liked to give up he knew he couldn't hurt Nauja like that.

It wasn't long before the females returned with mouthfuls of different herbs. They placed the herbs in front of the white male. Golden eyes watched as he moved to them and waited for instructions.

The pale leader worried for Tyne as he did all of his patients but the agouti was in bad shape and as much as he wanted to bring him through this Emrys was under no delusion either. He knew that there was a chance the infection was so bad they would not be able to help him. He was however thankful that he kept the stores if plants and herbs fresh at all times. The women should have no trouble finding the things he asked for and expected them back quickly. “Good,” he said when Tyne confirmed that he understood, “Things look bad right now I know but I am hopeful you will be better with a little time. I will have a talk with Nauja later and explain things to her so she understands.” He felt the dark female didn't quite understand the predicament her friend was in.

When the two women returned with the plants he’d asked for Emrys went to the to begin preparing them, “This should be plenty,” he told his mate when she asked he would speak with her later and thank her for the support she'd showed. The healer wanted to get them in Tyne before they moved him to a more suitable location. He first chewed the red cedar to extract the oils before making it into a poultice along with the Yarrow and goldenrod. Gathering a small amount of the yarrow and the wormwood he looked to Nauja, “Take this,” he indicated the small pile her put together, “Have him eat it.”

Emrys then turned to Jynx, “Can you finding me a pine tree branch that's still free and big enough we can get him onto it?” He then looked to where dark female was, “Nauja when you're finished there to help Jynx please.” He turned back to his work so that he could have the poultice ready by the time they returned. “I'm not going to make you walk to the infirmary,” he told Tyne as he finished up the poultice and took it over to the agouti. “It's much too far after the distance you've already traveled. Besides the Yarrow Nauja gave you will help you to sleep.” The healer began spreading small bits of the poultice in Tyne's wounds. “This should help with the infection and the pain. What Nauja gave you should help with he fever and the infection from the inside,” he explained while they waited and he worked.

She'd gone with Jynx running as fast as she could and by the time they reached the infirmary her sides were heaving. She followed the agouti alpha into the den and watched as she gathered what she was going to take. Quickly the sea wolf gathered her share. Once they both had what they needed she followed Jynx just as fast as she had before. She knew they had to be quick and she didn't want to be away from Tyne for too long. She was afraid that once she was out of sight he would give up in her. She was relieved when she saw the pale figure of her alpha through the trees.

She could see he was standing over Tyne but she didn't realize what he was doing until she had come in the scene once more. She out what she had in her mouth down for Emrys to take which he quickly started working with the different items they had brought. She watched until she was given an order to take some to Tyne which she laid them.on the ground.in front of her friend. “Emrys wants you to eat this,” she told Tyne.

She was pulled away from Tyne again when Emrys told her to go and help Jynx find a branch that would be suitable. She wasn't sure for what but that didn't matter. All that did was that they find one quickly and bring it back.

 Assured by her mate that the herbs she and Nauja brought were enough, she nodded faintly, swallowing a small lump in her throat. Gold eyes flicking from Emrys, to Tyne and Nauja, she could only imagine what was going through the minds of the sea wolves. Of how both must be feeling, of the uncertainty brewing in her chest. Until Emrys gave further instructions, there was little she could do but offer her own presence as a form of comfort. When Tyne was resting comfortably, recovering from the wounds, then she could pay him a visit, should he wish. Jynx knew nothing about the fellow, but what she did want to know, was who did this to him, and why.

She did not have to wait long until her white mate delivered another request for her. This time, asking her to retrieve a pine branch big enough to support the agouti males weight. "Of course. I'm on it." She said, turning dutifully to vanish a ways into the surrounding pine trees. Her eyes skimmed the ground and lower hanging branches of the pines. Looking for a specimen of a branch that was intact and thick enough to support of wolf of Tyne's size. Spotting a weighty branch that fit the bill, that looked ready to snap off the trunk of the tree, she made her selection. Only a few gnashes of her powerful jaws would do the trick to free it. Carrying it back alone would be difficult, which was why she was thankful Nauja would be there to assist her. The distinct crunch of teeth against bark would be all the cue the darker female needed to pinpoint where she was.

Talking was starting to become difficult as his fever pushed for him to sleep. He fought the urge and simply nodded at the white alphas next words. Thankfully the two women came back quickly with the herbs. Golden orbs watched as they put them down in from of Emrys. He took an assortment of herbs and chewed them be for putting them into a pile. Nauja took the pile and told the ill man that he was to eat it. Tyne eyed the pile, had be not been in such a dire state he would have thought otherwise. But he was in no position to argue so he gave the dark woman a small nod before eating the herbs. They were bitter and not something he wanted to eat again, but he wouldn't be so lucky.

Nauja then went off to help Jynx as the white healer told him he wasn't going to make the tawny man walk that far. He would have put up some protest if he wasn't trying to dry swallow his medicine. Emrys moved towards him with yet another pile of chewed herbs. He groaned at the thought of having to eat more. Luckily for Tyne this pile was for his external wounds. It was applied to the seeping wounds on the sea wolf's body. A barely auditable whine fell from his creamy maw each time it was applied. He had given up trying to keep them clean for the pain was too unbearable. His breathing became shallower as the pain intensified. "Sounds good" he managed weakly at the herbs explanations. Man all he wanted to do was sleep...

The pale healer was thankful the women had returned so quickly with the herbs. He worried for Tyne, he'd already been without treatment too long for the wounds to have festered as they had. He tried to stay optimistic as he went to work with the herbs preparing them and applying them.

He'd sent Jynx and Nauja off to fetch a branch that would work to get the agouti back to the infirmary den. The last thing he wanted was for the man to put more stress on his body after so much had already happened.

After giving his explanation as to what the herbs were for he set to work quietly, concentrating on what needed to be done. He could tell the man was ready for rest and while he was hesitant to let him sleep he also knew that it was needed. His ice gaze went to the woman to see how far they had gotten with the branch. He wanted to be finished by the time they returned so they could get Tyne moved and on the road to recovery.

She'd done as Emrys asked and taken the herbs to Tyne so that he could eat them. She then stayed next to her friend while he did after receiving a nod from him. She gave an encouraging smile hoping it would help him to do what was needed. Once the herbs were in his mouth and he was chewing she relaxed a little but not much. She was still worried because she did know how bad off he was and didn't want him to die after they had come so far and Emrys was working so hard. She'd never seen the man so serious and determined before. That in a way worried her more because of how dire the situation was.

She was pulled away from Tyne once more to help Jynx to find a branch to carry her friend back to the heart of the territory. She thought it was a good idea because of how far Tyne had already traveled and how much pain she knew he was in. “I'll be back,” she told her friend before quickly following the alpha into the forest to help her with the branch. The sound of her chewing helped her to easily find the woman as she worked to free the branch from the tree. It was a good sized one they should easily be able to carry Tyne but she could also see that it would take them both to get it back and perhaps all three of them to drag it once Tyne was on it. “Do you need some help?” She asked Jynx in case it would make it go faster.

She did not have long to wait until her second drew closer, easily finding her location amongst the may Fir trees. A heavy, solid thud sounded as the branch was snapped free after a few more clicks of her jaws, hitting the earth by her paws. Russet ears tilted and swiveled, intercepting the voice of Nauja. "I could, yes. Between the two of us, we should manage just fine."

Wasting no more time, as it was important to return to Tyne's side as soon as possible, she wrapped her jaws around one end of the branch. She was careful to flatten her tongue against the roof of her mouth, to avoid accidentally lodging a stray splinter in her tongue. Waiting, she allowed the sea wolf...now a forest dweller, get a strong grip on the branch. Yellow eyes flicking back in the direction in which Emrys and the ailing male waited, she could only think of getting back swiftly. He needed a dry, warm place to recover from his wounds. Thoughts whirring, she even considered the possibility of assigning an outside vigil by his place of recovery, at least for the first twenty four hours.

When Nauja was ready, she nodded once, and began to make her way back, carefully. She took the lead, setting an even pace while Nauja would follow behind, the branch carried between them. The going was slower than she would have liked, but with the randomly placed trees and bushes in their home, navigating in a straight line was impossible. But at last, they had made it. Setting down the branch within easy reach of Tyne, she checked on him, noticing how tired he looked. "We'll get you somewhere more comfortable soon, then your body can begin to heal." She promised, taking an attentive seat not far away.

Dull gold eyes watched as the two women ran off. His breathing was labored and short. He winced with each application of herbs. The pain was making him nauseous forcing him to close his eyes to keep himself from puking bile everywhere. He felt better when he was slipping into sleep in the orchard. Why couldn't Nauja have left him? Then he wouldn't be in pain, and these kind wolves wouldn't have a burden on their hands. Soon he began to slip into a normal sleep from utter exhaustion and pain. Could this just be over yet?

He'd just finished putting the herbs on Tyne's injuries when the two women returned with the branch. It was one that would work perfectly and allow them to carry the injured man back to the infirmary where he could get some rest. The pale leader had taken note that Tyne was starting to fall asleep which Emrys hoped was restful and deep. They would be able to carry him without too much pain and get him settled before he woke up. The healer planned to speak to Nauja about sitting with him until he woke. It might be a bit of a shock to her friend to wake up in different surroundings especial after what he'd been through.

He gave instructions to Nauja and Jynx of how they were going to get the tawny man onto the branch. Once they had slid him onto it Emrys gave the signal for Tyne to be moved to the heart of the territory. The trip was taken slow and gently to be safe so they didn't jostle him too much. The pale healer kept a close eye on his patient and the wounds. Finally when they reached the infirmary Tyne was taken inside and made comfortable before he was left to rest.
