Koda Reinier

His eyes were trained on the two figures ahead of him. Though he was not necessarily concerned for Iopah's safety, he was protective over the things he loved and kept her in his sight at all times, despite the distance that both women had achieved between him. His natural bulk left him slower then the average wolf but for this disadvantage the elder male had gained strength and a determination that burned deep within the pits of his golden eyes. Like Iopah, he was angry that this wolf had decided to creep into their land and steal food set aside for natural disasters, but he could sense that his ways of handling the situation were a bit different then his wife's. He was content on allowing the wolf to escape with her tail tucked between her legs with the looming threat of fear in her eyes--it seemed the queen of Broken Pines sought for more.

His strides slowed down when he realized that Noble had cleared the cedar tree and ran frantically in the other direction with hopes to get as much distance between her and those chasing her. His wife on the other hand had begun to run the length of the tree, perhaps in hopes of finding a spot where she could clear it, and he wondered what Iopah could do to Noble if she did indeed clear the tree. He followed closely behind her in search of a narrow access but found none--perhaps it was the thief's lucky day after all.

Eirian Asurn

Cream tinted limbs crashed wildly through the tangled mess of decaying underbrush and fallen cedar trees in hot pursuit of the run away thief. Flame bright citrus optics focused and locked on the fleeing silhouette of the swarthy girl like a furry missile determined to catch its target and by the power surging through bred down muscle mass, one would think to place their bets on such a beast. Yet, even mother nature herself liked to bet on the underdogs by extending an interfering hand such as an enormous timbered log to deter the rapidly gaining Pine wolves from securing their prey. One that was easily scaled by the lanky thief.

Refusing to let up on the speed acquired thus far in the chase, well toned muscles rippled under dark agouti fur as Eirian leaned back like a coil before springing forward in an attempt to clear the obstacle before them. Dull nails scarred the thick hide of the cedar's trunk as the weight of his body dragged him downwards back to the earth with a heavy thump. Ragged breathes burned the young Asurn's lungs as anger pumped within his veins at the prospect of the girl getting away all because of a single tree too high to jump over, peripheral vision noting the leading pair darting along the length for a location more suitable to clear. A frenetic look glinted behind tangerine optics as the darker coated brute refused to give up the chase, a serious of barks similar to that of a blood thirsty hound hot on the trail of a fox while attempt after attempt to scale the log returned empty pawed.

Due to his own bulk gravity would not favor the idea of Erian scaling the timber so easily as Noble, creamy limbs opting to pace the length of the tree in the opposite direction Iopah and Koda had taken. Perhaps a narrower area opened up on his side. Perhaps luck truly was on the thief's side today. After today she would be wise to avoid Pines' stomping grounds at all cost. Next time she may not be so lucky.

Noble Lagina
I will post Io once more after this and then the BTP wolves should be eligible for skill points

Noble hit the ground awkwardly; so desperate to get over the tree, that she put little thought into landing on the other side. The impact forced the air from her lungs and made her front legs momentarily fold on themselves before she could lurch back to her feet. They were still on the over side. Through the fallen tree she could hear a singular ominous growl and the thundering approach of the rest. This safety was only temporary, and they all knew it.

The dark girl shook her head, clearing away the last bit of stupor and continued a undignified escape. Her pace increased, a limp showing now, as someone furiously threw themselves at the fallen tree. Every pack was like this, each pack member wanting nothing more than her unpleasant demise. Black lips pulled away from ivory teeth at the unfair pitting of many against one. They were violent and deceitful, hardly the sort she would ever consider joining. To the young Lagina, they seemed nearly a different species.

She moved as fast as the limp would allow, nursing her pride along with the injury. Her ears were pinned back, but the message was loud and clear: they had not given up. Eventually the sounds intensified, vengeful barks falling away to hasty footfalls. By the time the Broken Pines' wolves were back on her trail she had re-entered the creek. The water would keep her safe, it would mask her scent and hide her tracks. Sodden and miserable, Noble began the long trek up the creek, unknowing of who or what she might find.

don't forget, @Eirian and @Koda can claim demonstrating a pack role (guarding) skill points for this

She had to run and search for much longer than she would have liked. Iopah had never been a terribly patient woman, and this little incident was not gracing her with any more. Gold eyes narrowed, glowering at the fallen cedar that was keeping her from the thief. She hardly slowed, simply charged down the length of it and waited for her first opportunity to cross over the barricading tree. It only distantly registered with her that a pack mate was close on her heels.

Finally, the opportunity came. The tree was broken, likely from it's initial fall years ago, and it was a simple matter of scrambling over the cedar's shattered trunk to emerge on the other side. Iopah shook free the pieces of red cedar bark that clung to her coat and went off in search of the thief's scent trail. Her temper was mollified somewhat by having finally made it over the fallen cedar. She growled softly to herself, the sound more of an afterthought than anything else.

Noble's trail was easy to find, but it disappeared at the closest creek. She paced back and forth a few times, hoping to find wolf tracks on the other side, but there was nothing. It was getting late and she had no desire to look all over the countryside for one misguided yearling. They had certainly left a strong impression and that would have to be enough. Iopah turned back to rejoin the rest of the wolves that had volunteered to guard Broken Timber Pines from the thief.
