Leotie Rhys

Leotie was curious about the meeting and what it was Naira had to tell them especially since they hadn't had a meeting since the pack had been established. She was the first to arrive but was soon joined by Zerxes a smile offered to the man in response to his grin. Her tail thumped the ground a couple times in greeting of her hunting partner. She had started to like the man and even felt badly for her initial reaction of him. She still worried about the relationship between him and Treyah but she didn't seem any worse for it.

Once everyone had arrived Naira started the meeting explaining about the two litters and how everyone needed to pitch in and do their part to support the pack. Leotie also wasn't surprised by the announcements that pregnant loners would not be accepted into the pack. With two litters of their own they had plenty to worry about.

Leotie wasn't too concerned about stocking the caches since she did her best everyday to bring something to the cache. She was for the most part successful. However her ears flattened against her skull as she mentioned the Willow Ridge wolves and not allowing them across the border. The agouti woman didn't understand where Naira got the idea that the ridge wolves we're crossing the border into their territory. In all the time that she had been friends with Sven he had never crossed the border as far as she knew. She didn't understand why the alpha was stating the Willow wolves specifically, what did she have against them? Sven was her friend and she felt he was trying to do good things between the two packs. Leotie wondered if it was the same for other packs that they have made friends with or if she’d singled the Willow wolves out.

When Naira asked about having something to add Leotie kept quiet what was there for her to really add as couldn't argue with her alpha even if she did feel she was mistaken. The message had been clear do her job just as it had been in the bend and she would do it to the best of her abilities as she had always done.

Treyah Tainn
won't you light my lonely way back home?
Treyah Tainn

She never had been entirely comfortable with the strangers that didn't smell like them coming and going as they pleased. It was one thing to stay a night at the invitation of the leaders but to simply invite yourself in to stink up the place for days without so much as an introduction had rankled the girl, especially after the reception Zerxes had recieved when she had attempted to do just that. Why were Leotie's friends any different to hers? And her mother had given the okay... She gave a half smile and a small bump to her companion, he had heard her complaints on the matter more than once and she was sure he would know her endorsement of her mothers call without the need for words.

Her mother had already told her the news, being one of three litters born in the bend, she didn't find it at all odd that Maera was having puppies too, although she did hope that it wouldn't lead to a splintering of this pack once the children were old enough to make a lengthy journey (but then again, who might have eyes on her parents positions if not herself? And who would think to oppose her?). When her mother asked if there were any questions, she thought to raise her voice, "So are the Willow wolves our allies? And have we established contact with other packs? If not, I'd like to try..." Not that she fancied herself much of a scout with her imposing bulk and oversized frame but diplomacy was a skill she would need if she was ever going to fill her mothers paw prints... when the time came.

Kerberos Rigel
Hot heck I'm super sorry for the long hold up!

He listened to the news that Naira delivered. It was a bit unexpected but he understood it. Truthfully he hadn't expected their hospitality to be taken so firmly by their neighbors. While the company was never awful some days it was exhausting to work twice as hard to 'wash' out that smell that belonged to others. This was the Draw's home, they had worked for it and defended it from day one. The fact the others not of the Draw could stink this place up was a bit unrespectable. What did that make them look like to outsiders? A shelter or hand-out station?

His yellow gaze flickered to Treyah as she spoke up about wanting to make contact with others. A small smile tugged across his features. He might have pinned Reiko as the one to do that but with how involved Treyah liked to be it was no big surprise. He had to wonder how she would fair on trips, though. Kerberos didn't doubt her abilities but there was no denying she had the build of a warrior and not a scout.

Softly he spoke up. "I suppose this means reinforcing the borders and telling the news to those who try to waltz in?" He raised a brow as he asked with obvious curiosity. If anything it was more or less a clarification question. His gaze moved over to Leotie. She might be the one to catch a Ridge wolf and break news to them. Wasn't she the closest to them?

Maera Slayer

A soft smile encroached the Rigel woman’s features when Naira mentioned both litters… reminding her of the life that grew inside her. It was different – she wasn’t her mother and she hadn’t made stupid decisions like her parents had. Granted, she did love them… she always would, they were her parents after all… but it’d been stupid of them to act so impulsively and her siblings had paid the price. She gently leaned against her mate, letting their fur mingle softly – half for comfort, half for pride. No other children would be cared for… a loner’s problem was a loners problem. Honestly, Maera had conflicted feelings about it. It was surprising to her, given her usual disposition for loners around her borders…

Then again, she knew the children would be the ones suffering… she couldn’t risk her own’s safety either. She was starting to understand the thought processes that her aunt had when her mother had gotten pregnant. She gave a nod when she finished, nothing left for the woman to say. Honestly, she wanted to go back to napping, but a part of her knew she should do something else. She should hunt or do a round on the borders... something productive to help prepare for the arrival of the pups, her pups.

Zerxes Zamora

Politics. He abhorred pack politics. If they had a problem with some interloper, why sit around and chat all nice like about it? Just run 'em down or tear 'em up. No point playing nicely when it came to staking a claim. He'd make sure Treyah knew that one way or another. The girl had a solid head on her shoulders and was happy to listen to whatever he may recommend of her, he was sure.

The talk of litters didn't interest him one bit. Zerxes had chosen not to partake this season, still playing the dutiful subordinate while suspicions still seemed present. Though for what reason, he couldn't pin down. He'd been nothing if not cordial with his packmates and had yet to step out of line. Maybe he flirted with it a little with concerns to Kerby-boy, but otherwise, he was a pinnacle of good behavior.

That Treyah was looking to get into the politics impressed him. She was taking to leadership opportunities well and didn't shy away from any as he might have first believed. The young female found new ways to impress him every day. Not that he'd tell her so. Too much praise and she'd get a big head.

As Kerberos mentioned telling the news to trespassers, Z snorted. "I'll tell 'em with my teeth," he said on a wide yawn to showcase them. Devil green eyes darted over playfully to his rival and he smiled sweetly. Surely the pack's great and powerful Second could handle even that. A little goading never hurt anyone.
