The Diminutive Ivory She-wolf noticed that Luz slowed down just enough so that she was running just ahead and to the side of Vera, looking back over her shoulder with a wide grin on her face. Returning the grin, Vera barked out happily, rejoicing her joy to the snowy world. It was nice to have another wolf that she considered a friend, one that she could lessen her guard around and be free around. It was only around Florence that she could be so open, but she had decided to try and make friends in her new family. They key word here was try, as she had no idea how her goal would fare. But as for now, it seemed to be going well. Hopefully it would continue to be so easy to make friends. It was hard enough for her already.

Vera swerved to the side when a small bush seemed to appear out of nowhere, dodging it with precision and ease. Her crème companion, however, didn't seem to have the agility or dexterity to leap to the side and instead chose to spring over it, easily, she might add. Her landing on the fresh, powdery snow sent a spray up behind her, catching the Diminutive Ivory She-wolf right in the face. Laughing as she shook her head to rid her brows, ears and muzzle of the snow, she continued to race after Luz, slowly catching up the longer they ran. It wasn't long before the two of them slowed down, and upon inhaling deeply Vera caught the faint scent of lynx. pricking her ears, her caramel eyes scanned the immediate area for any sign of the predator, and upon finding nothing turned to the crème female. "I think it was here not too long ago; the meat is still fresh, so we should keep on the lookout." She didn't want her new friend to get attacked by the lynx and face possible life-threatening wounds. "Do you think we'll be able to drag this all the way back home?" Vera woofed with a grin. It wasn't that she didn't have the strength to drag it all the way back, but as both of them didn't have as much strength as many others, it would take a litter longer with just the two of them. It was feasible, though.

Luz eyed the deer with a golden gaze, considering. She then glanced at the area again. The bushes had a chance of getting in the way but if they were careful and aware of the things around them they might just be able to get the deer back. While they watched out for the bushes they could also look out for the lynx. I think we can do it but we are going to have to be careful of the bushes because if it get tangled up in one I am not sure if we could get it out ourselves. The thorns on the black berry bushes would likely snag the fur and if they tried to tear them away they would like have their snouts torn up as well. They would just have to be careful then.

While we watch out for bushes we can keep an eye out for that lynx to. She said as she moved forward to sniff at the deer. It hadn't been dead long as Vera had said. Glancing at the smaller wolf she smiled. This should help our caches out quite nicely. She had been trying to fill them up as much as she could but this would help out a lot. One deer took a lot of energy to take down and here they had been lucky to find one that was fresh killed for them. Hopefully they would keep getting lucky like this for the rest of the winter. Her tail wagged behind her hopefully at the thought.

Do you want my post to be the fade/exit or do you wanna post once more @Luz? :)

Vera turned to the crème female and smiled, nodding. She had been thinking the same thing. It would be difficult to drag the deer through all the blackberry bushes as the fur on the deer and themselves would snag on the sharp thorns. A lot of energy would need to be used to unsnag themselves and their prey, and that would mean less energy to get the deer back to the pack prey cache. The time to run back to get another pack member to help would cost them dearly, and what if the lynx came back? That would leave one of them alone to fight it off, and it wasn't a risk she could take.

Moving forward to sniff the deer, the Diminutive Ivory She-wolf smiled. Good, it was still fresh which meant it would last a while before it became rotten and inedible. "That's a good idea, we don't want it to sneak up on us." Her caramel brown gaze landed on the crème female, who she now considered a friend in her mind. "I agree, it should last us a while. Long enough for us to find another large prey." Glancing around at their wintery surroundings once more to check for danger, Vera grabbed the upper thick of one of the back legs, waited a moment for Lux to also grab a part of the deer, and began to drag it in the direction of the pack caches. It would take a while and a lot of effort, but it would be worth it.
