The alpha gave himself a firm shake. No. No, he quite done thinking about all of this. His tail lashed behind him. There were still things he needed to do. Take care of Nineva. Take care of Felix, and make sure he got on his way safely. Then, he could gather up his daughter, and he could leave.
It did mean something for him, he supposed, that Ophelia wanted to come along for the little journey, and not stay behind with her mother, or her other parental figure – though sometimes he wondered if the children considered Rook to be their father at all. Felix did, but the girls? He supposed he could ask. Could at least understand how Ophelia felt, and only hope his other daughter came home. Whatever it took. If only she came home.
With no more words between them, the pair of males parted ways. The snow crunched beneath Veho’s feet, and not for the first time, he wondered. Was this the right choice?
Fade.
