Affection for the young male was clear in Nina’s emerald orb. She would not let this young man down but Ash surely didn’t deserve to die. It was a sin to kill another intentionally but killing another meant going against the ways of a healer and it was one of the things the golden female would not go against. She was towards the code of a healer and breaking the oath in her lands, meant committing a horrid crime, something she refused to do. The girl’s patient, young eye watched Kashikoi in curiosity. How was she to explain some of these things to him. He was young but he had to smart mind and none the less, she had to answer his question.

"I know about Koda. He is a strong wolf as are you. I am watching out for all of you no matter what. I am close to Koda, as I am you, Ash thinks I am dead at the moment, there shouldn‘t be a foul here. Quite yet that is."

Nina spoke the words with reasoning a glimmer in her eye saying that she knew more than she was saying. The golden fae sat down comfortably and twitched her ears as the two spoke to each other. Kashikoi was a polite man and he should understand her reasoning. Something she appreciated about the young male was the fact that he had enough sense to understand her logic, something other wolves had a hard time following.

Kashi was glad that Nina thought of Koda as a good friend like himself. It told him that he wouldn't always make mistakes like with Ash but it also reassured him that she was with someone kind and protective. Ash could wait, it was bad enough Kashi's mind had been <span class='word'>chockablocked</span> since he had been made second male in the pack. It only added to his responsibilities as a healer as he now had to do the jobs that Kanusak had once done for the pack. Would it be bad for him to ask for help on what he was supposed to do now? Was he even capable of this position? He was almost positive that some wolves thought they could do better than him and maybe they could but that was not the case at the moment. <b>Nina... you know how I'm second now? What should I do? I feel so lost and stressed out, not even my own birth pack would of expected to see me like this. I just feel like I'm going to fail."</b> After telling her what had been on his mind for a while now he hung his head in shame of his small young frame.

The two of them sat in a comfortable silence together and Nina pondered if he should tell him the news. That Koda and her were mates. She didn't want to startle the young male and she was quite hesitant to speak about it. She didn't want to be kicked out of her pack due to her having a mate. And one from a different pack too. That would surely be frowned upon in this pack. So she remained silent but she was soon saved by Kashi's voice. Second? She had not known about this, but she was proud of her friend, he deserved it. His question caught her off guard though. Why would he be asking her this question? She was not Second. She was actually the lowest in the pack and had been since joining.

She spoke briskly after his words, "You do your job as Second and show everyone how good you are for the job. You do not make Aeylen or Ruiko regret giving you the honor. Being Second is stressful but you will fall into the pattern. I'm always here for you an if you ever need help. I'm only a howl away."

After her small speech she gave the young male a wink and a gentle nuzzle of affection. He was her Second now. Something she had not known about, being away for so long had affected how much she knew about that pack. She had to get Kashikoi back into their lessons but knew that she couldn't do so at the moment. It would only make him stress out all the more trying to remember herbal remedies. She would be here for him though, just like she had promised. It was the only reason she hadn't left with Koda. The promise she had given to the young male, and her loyalty to her pack.

It meant a lot to the small wolf to know that his dearest friend believed in him but her reassurance also came with the warning that it was a stressful job. Their conversation helped him in more ways then one. Even though she did not give much advice it still almost helped him forget about Ash's treacherous actions. It was a bit odd to see Nina blink with one eye but he didn't allow it to bother him at all. He answered her affectionate nudge with his own while wagging slightly. He wondered what else had happened during her travels and why she left in the first place. To be honest he didn't even know that she was gone till recently. He tilted his head towards Nina. <b>"Could you tell me about your trip, like why you left and where you went and any other news?"</b>

He seemed relieved that she was supporting him with his placement. She was proud of him, and he had regained Kanosak’s role, something he should have been here to teach the young male to do. His next question caught her off guard. Why she had left? It had been to find her brother but then on her way she had encountered Koda and then she had continued on to find her brother. She should tell Kashikoi though, it had not been a command on his part, but he had asked her. And they were close friends. She could trust him. . .even with Koda.

She smiled at him and spoke, <b>”I went out at first to look for my brother. . .and then I met Koda. We spent awhile together and then I went on my way again. Something must have happened though, in my time, on my way to Fireweed where Koda met Ash. . .or something happened. But after I introduced myself to Ash, the effect was immediate. He attacked me, my mind shut down. . .I couldn’t fight back, I couldn’t defend myself. He attacked. . . Right before he was going to deliver the death blow. . .Koda arrived. He chased off Ash but he didn’t leave. Chantille, from Poison Path healed me and Koda helped me get back. He came with me all the way home Kashikoi. . .and. . .”</b> Nina stopped should she continue?

She had to tell her friend all the facts no matter the consequences, <b>“Koda and I are mates. I am no longer Nina. . .Her. . .I’m not longer one of them. I am Nina Reinier.”</b> Her tail wagged slightly showing that she was happy. So happy for herself that she gained something out of the Hell that Ash had gotten her into. She had everything she could want right now. Nothing else could matter except her family. She already considered Kashikoi her son. And she had leaders and sister, along with a brother. She couldn’t be happier.

After his questions he sat down on his rump and perked his ears to listen to the story of her short adventure. The fact that she traveled with Koda reassured him, first because he seemed like a strong and capable wolf and because it meant that Nina had trusted him too. It saddened the young healer greatly about how ash had attacked her. He had found the wolf to be an okay wolf but in truth he was played like a puppet and worked right into his paws. It was true that the male had not lied when he said he was looking for his sister but Kashi should of asked for a reason before telling him about dear Nina. His memories of Ash were soon shattered by her talking about being Koda's mate. It shocked him but didn't at the same time for some odd reason. <b>"Nina are you sure that it will work? I'm not criticizing I'm just a little worried and I want you to think it through. I say that as a second but as a friend I am very happy for you and I know you will work it out." </b> He gave a smile and a quick wag as he started to head back to the dens <b>"I'll see you again soon, I'm off to rest, its getting late."</b>
