Ara looked up from her place alongside the deer's throat and found her hunting partner start chomping down. While it brought the furry creature stumbling in a downward fashion, it wasn't quite enough. Knowing that if they didn't work together neither would get food, she lunged forward one last time to sink her sharp teeth into its flesh. She pulled back, her paws sinking into the ground before the elk finally flopped to the ground. It flipped and struggled for a second and then it finally fell still. When the pale yearling was certain the creature was restful, she carefully let go. The taste of blood filled her mouth and made it water. She was tempted for only a moment to take the elk. But when she glanced over at Semi, she changed her mind. She was more in it for the fun of the hunt than anything. She didn't mind sharing half since she had done only half the work anyways. And that was the deal after all. She stepped back, acknowledging that the older pack female was above her in some way. She let her deformed tail wag back and forth. Their kill was great! For being a smaller elk of the herd, it would sure feed a lot of mouths.
"So," she said, smiling at the other female. "You take what you need and I'll take the rest?" To be honest her curiosity about this female and the pack she belonged to was building in a way she was almost cautious to allow. After a moment, though, she folded her hind legs into a sit and ran her paws quickly across the ground before looking back up at Semi. "This pack you live in, you like it?" she said awkwardly, attempting to bring up the subject without sounding nosy. Whether it was a good idea or not, Ara couldn't help herself. She watched to know more.
